I work exclusively with a bunch of older ladies, and one asked me to change her oil in the parking lot on Friday (today). The things we do... Good video. I basically needed to know its a 15 on the bolt, and 6qts. No washers. Excellent.
Just did this on 2016, took 20 min. Was a freaking cinch thanks to this video. And I also did it on the ground in the snow! Oil filter went on with ease.
You can also reset the oil life by 1) turn key to run but don’t start engine 2) press the info button on the center console until the oil life is shown on the driver info center 3) press and hold the checkmark button for 5 or so seconds. Driver info center will then show oil reset to 100%

I will be checking those areas to see if my oil leak is coming from my oil pan and/or filter. Also, now I know how to reset the oil percentage to 100% after the oil change is done. Just need to see if it's going to snow tonight and/or tomorrow..... Blah, I hate snow
Didn’t GM put out a TSB reflashing the PCM for 5k OCI? These 3.6 DI engines are very hard on oil and by nature use a bit though the PCV. Change often if you don’t want the dreaded P0008.
Just wanted to put this in the comments that you have to push the gas pedal five times instead of three to reset the oil life information on the dashboard three times is not correct you have to do it 5 my friend ended up telling me that after I did it like seven times trying to do it and it still didn't work just an FYI
I got the low oil pressure. Shut engine off message. Came on and then went back off at a low speed. Could it be just the oil pressure sensor going bad?
Ok when I drain my oil when my computer says 10% oil life remaining, but it still has about 4 quarts of oil still In it so why is it saying I'm almost empty?
+mike Lowry Thanks for watching! That percentage represents your "oil life," not the actual oil level. This is something that is calculated by the ECU, but your oil life will depend on the type of oil you use (synthetic vs conventional). It is a good idea to check your oil level using the dipstick ever 1000 miles or so. 1aauto.com
@@1AAuto thanks so much for the knowledge. I changed the oil 2 months ago using mobile 1 full synthetic and I checked the dipstick yesterday and the level looks good and still clean

Correction you said 6 quarts but all GMC ACADIAs take 5.5 quarts not 6. Big fan of the videos and 1A-Auto. Happy 2023🍻
The engineers whose designed the oil filter location should have some mental problems….extremely no signs of the intelligence

This oil filter is easy to get to to take off incredibly difficult to put back on though.

did you use a 3/8 drive torque wrench ?

Whats the appropriate Oil
To make sure the old rubber is not on the engine, just look at the old filter!! Whew and I'm not even a mechanic!!

Too much oil
My Acadia shows _ _ _% oil life and I tried to reset but nothing happens

I hope this will help someone, Filter don't go straight, it lay down little when you tighten or when you put on oil filter spindle,
