I guess 7....Bd6 in that case. The computer gives both moves (7. Bf4 and 7 Ng5) similar assessments. Seems like black is better with best play in both cases. I don't really understand the idea behind 7.Bf4. Seems to me if white never even attempts to dislodge the knight from e4 black has to be better. Beyond the one move threat and just sort of superficially developing I don't really get it because if the black knight just makes a permanent home on e4 only black can be better.

I managed to find the forcing moves but still lost because I didn't know that taking the c2 fork lead to losing thanks for making this vid.
I did the exact same thing when I was a scholastic player. The loss really stuck with me. I never forgot it.
