Come on a trip with me next year! Where do you want to do hiking? Let me know here: my.trovatrip.com/public/l/survey/chef-corso-oru
What I did last tine I made this. I froze the chicken. That way I could use it as an ice pack. And I got an extra day or 3 put of the veggies before they wilted.
I prep all my meals ahead of time. I'll combine each step if I can( while keeping dry ingredients dry and the wet wet) then repackage them in a ziplock bag. Big enough to hold it all. That way come meal time I can just reach into my backpack and grab a ziplock bag and BOOM. No hunting for ingredients, no messing around trying to fond something to chop ingredients on(or having to carry a cutting board). PLUS the added bo us of having something to pack the garbage in.
Thanks Chef for another great recipe. I love all your recipes/videos
That looks amazing. Thanks for sharing.
This is incredibly similar to a dish I've been making for years that I call "Instant Thanksgiving", which is a packet of chicken chunks, a packet of gravy (chicken or turkey), half a packet of instant stuffing mix (chicken or turkey), freeze-dried corn, nuts, dried fruits, etc.
yea! a great combo. th-cam.com/video/PRElTOSbnJw/w-d-xo.html
Holy crap!! What an awesome idea!!! Cannot wait to do this in my minimo. What I love about backpacking is also cooking cool meals like this on trail. Great video as always chef!!!
This was a super easy, super tasty good one. Old crossiants for the win! 🥐
Take it from the tester. Works in the Flash as well. Matter of fact this was the first thing I made in it.😉
Great idea! Might try it out this summer. Looks satisfying 👍
Loving these one pot meals in a Jetboil. Bringing the best out of a simple cook system! Croissant 🥐 to make a pie in a Jetboil. Genius! Cheers chef Corio!
🙌
Brilliant work bud, this looks amazing!
Great recipe! We tried it on our getaway to West Virginia. Nothing better than a good meal with a great view.
Cheers GA!
Hey, chef! Long time viewer, but I think this is my first comment. I love your approach to outdoor cooking. Really nice job of showing how to have a gourmet meal on the trail with everyday ingredients. Thanks for sharing!
Cheers EJ! Thanks for dropping a note. I think it’s a pretty good path forward away from packaged meals.
Hi Chef, I've just returned from a 10 day+ kayaking trip along part of Australia's longest navigable river, The Murray/ I've been using your ideas in my Jetboil knockoff for a couple of years. My meals, compared to the boil in the bag/just add water meals of my fellow paddlers left them green with envy lol. Unfortunately, a lot of your ingredients, e.g., Sunkist chicken pouches or some of the powdered ones aren't available here, so I substitute freeze dried meats chicken and also use a lot of freeze dried vegies, Keep the recipes coming, cheers Peter
awesome, great to hear! and yes, great mods with ingredients you have available
Oh no! Got me drooling!
New sub! Just found this and I love it. I camp in a tiny camper with a back plain galley. Stretching my cooking options is so enjoyable. Just saw your Omni review, I’ve had my omnia for two years and mostly baked dessert. This is a great video.
welcome aboard J!
Thanks for this series of videos, Chef. The trails are watching and you're straight killing it. Your recipes are gonna help me out this season and I'm Damn grateful.
Cheers JG! Happy to help
As always a great video. What was the utensil you used in the video? Thanks!
cheers J! This is a just a titanium spork sample from a supplier I was working with. Turned out to not be a durable as I was wanting...
@ChefCorso this looks awesome and I’m about to make it for my group of 5 this weekend. One item confused about is the chicken packet. Says 5oz. But all the packets at the store at 2.5oz. Looks like we have the exact same pack too. Could it be a typo? Thanks!
Double it! Mas pollo
If I was camping, a tin of stew warmed up would do for me.
"Put your croissant on the ground. Now punch it."
Pretty classic prep step…ha!
So, what if you need to cook for 2-4 people? This seems like it's only for one person.
I do a lot of day hiking, but wanting to do more backpacking. I'm going with at least one other person, possibly more, but most likely one other
pretty easy MF. Double it or scale it up. All of our recipes note how many servings it makes. Really easy to scale up or scale down. Enjoy!
@@ChefCorso but, I'm guessing you can't fit two portions in one. You'd have to cook it twice
correct, for this specific make and capacity of pot. but it can work in any sized pot. for 2-4 people I would go 1L-2L pot@@michaelfrymus
@@ChefCorso ok cool cool.
I have the Jetboil Minimo. So, I may need to reconsider other options as this may not be big enough. Maybe a small portion for two hungry hikers :) I'll look into a bigger system for when I have more people
The croissants are directly on the grass wtf
Ha I think you’ll be ok
