You can make gun cleaning/repair kits with WD-40, toothbrush. and a dish rag. Regular ripped sheets don't seem to work in place of dish rags. I always loot those items from the start so if I live long enough I'll have plenty of repair kits. They also don't use up with one use. Just like duct tape, weld rod, etc. there are multiple uses.
oooo good thing i saved all my dish rags, i keep them just in case for drying off to avoid getting sick but thats a much better use, i will check and see if i got any of the 40, i don't believe i do

Come to think of it, Raven Creek might as well be PZ's own version of Raccoon City; they even have the same initials! I'd pay top dollar to play in a actual Raccoon City map mod, but Raven Creek comes quite close to replicating the tone and feel of that locale.
