Sometimes it's good to have the classics that can endure fashion cycles. Classic is not always boring. There has to be a balance between just being a slave to the trends, and always looking for the next new thing, and never trying anything new. It's nice to have classics as well as new pieces in one's collection. Without any classics there is a danger of becoming a fashion victim.
Totally agree, I watched a Vlog the other day and the girl said don’t get rid of your big bags guys just because the mini bags are in remember it’s just a trend it’ll all be over soon and big bags will come back they always do!
but there's also a balance between "playing it safe" for every bag choice and looking super boring since "everyone has it", no sense of self-style. Maybe 1-2 classics that's it, and even looking at my collection, the "classics" are what i never reach for. I mean they are expensive, so they better make my heart sing everytime i use them, and not just because they are a "classic/safe" choice.
I agree and on the other end of that spectrum, you may not want to be too flashy. For instance, everyone has LV monogram etc. if you have one you are not overtly flashy and probably won't get robbed. lol. Even if I could afford a Birkin, I would be afraid that I am going to get robbed or that people would look down on me for spending that much on a bag. So I would never wear it.
I'm never buying anything from a store that lies to you about what bags they have or don't have. That practice is disgusting, and those stores don't deserve anyone's business.

Invest instead in fine jewelry. Once you have several pieces you can safely hid it on a safe deposit box. Bags can not be stored for safety. For me bags come and go but jewelry is an eternity investment.
I'd never buy a Speedy again or a Neverfull and have sold all of mine as I now prefer funkier designs - out with the boring and in with vintage and/or bags that are really different!
I agree! I chose smaller brands with excellent quality and luxiurious look but much lower prices, there is no big logo attached. I also think broader, if I want a black bag then it has to be a unique texture or details otherwise its boring. Also guys, just be bolder and take risks and have fun, its just fashion😎

Agree 100%! I have a Birkin 25 in black Togo with gold hardware and it’s my holy grail bag. Perfect size and fits a lot more than you would think. I am 5’9” for reference, I also don’t care for huge bags. And I only have unique LV monogram bags, never saw the appeal of the speedy and Neverfull. Everyone has them.
I don't understand the Hermes hype tbh...like if you are paying with hard-earned cash I don't understand why Hermes get to dictate when and what you can buy?! It's just so rude and arrogant and anywhere else that would be bad customer service.
I went to the Hermès store for the very first time two days ago... I must say it makes me wanna sell my Chanel purses because of their good customer service. I was wearing a stupid pink shirt, jeans and sneakers while other customers dressed well and I asked for a cheap fashion jewelry. The SA was very nice, friendly and helpful. VS at the Chanel everything was sold out, SA do a poor job on recommending products, it can be so frustrating to shop at Chanel in my opinion.
I don’t regret my bag purchases as I ignore the brand and choose something that works for me. I got a beautiful Marni bag recently. I like being a bit different but still enjoying the quality of luxury items, so I agree about the LV monogram and Chanel classic. They’re a bit boring and overdone to me. Same for Gucci if I’m honest.

I love my Chanel double flap classic, yes it's a classic but that's why I love it..being too trendy often cheapens your look...the bag I wish I never purchased is the Gucci Soho bag, it's not practical and doesn't have a good look...I have the LV neverfull MM and GM...and yes every cat and dog has one, however I just came off of a 10 day vacation trip and don't know how I would have survived without the neverful GM..it was truly a life saver because it is 'never full'!!

I am 5’4” and was offered a Gold Birkin 35 and I took it. I love it. I do have a 30 and it is also beautiful. I was offered a “special order” bag and went with the Birkin 30..waiting for it. I do enjoy my Gold 35 just as much though.

I love love this video. I own 3 Chanel Bags and I feel like I own it all. Love their shoes and clothes....Bags not so much! I am a true LV and CD lover but I must admit I do not buy basic bags. I am a more exotic and limited edition kind of collector. I also do those special orders that you gotta wait for 8 - 12 months like the Himalayans 🥰 now those are 100% worth the wait! I just put an order for a small Himalayan Lady Dior with rose gold hardware and mixed of crystals and a leather "Dior" Embellishments. I wanted to put crystals on the handle but I thought it would look so amazing but I didn't because; 1. It will be impractical to hold and 2. It will add weight to my bag. I have a Birkin and Kelly both on 25. I must say I enjoy my Kelly more. But I was so over moon when I bought them. But now I don't even use it at all 😂. I think these two bags are the most overrated bag I own in my collection. I have 3 basic rule when picking a bag; 1. Weight without my crap on it 2. Does it fit my phone as I am more into smaller bags 3. How special is it? I do not buy basic monogram of any brand except it's a gift 😂 and they specifically asked for it.

I just purchased my Jumbo, and I am so in love with it! Yes it is large but not as large as my Chanel lambskin quilted tote and they weigh the same IMO. I live in Colorado, we start wearing jackets in October and go through March, the jumbo is great with sweaters, vests and even heavy coats. I probably will not carry it in the summer, nor would I have purchased it if I still lived in FL. Love the bag. No regrets!

I just sold my neverful gm. It was just too darn big! I loved it a whole lot, but I never wore it, so whoever purchased it has a brand new bag, but I plan to get to get the MM size next time, or a Speedy 35.
Get the Speedy B 35, it's not much bigger than the 30 but it's big enough to throw a scarf and gloves in during the winter months or a light cardigan in the summer. It has a zip for security. If it tips over, you won't lose your items. I recommend monogram or leather as DE wears at the corners much faster than the monogram.
Try getting a backpack. There are some really nice ones out there, light, roomy, looking good. Since I gave up wearing bags I stopped having back pain, plus the arms are free. Now all my bags are piled up in storage and only the small messenger ones come out when I have a party. I also grew up dirt poor and vowed never to buy a black bag again. However in time we learn what the rich kids knew all along, that material possessions don't make us happier. So now if the choice is fashion versus comfort, I chose what makes me happier, which is comfort.
@ Excuse me but I think doing grocery shopping with a thousand dollar bag is a bit too much. If you have that much money for a grocery shopping bag I would think somebody should buy your grocery. I can't afford that.

@OnWingsOfHope WOW!!!! At one time I had 15 LV, wallets and cosmetic bags, my dear husband also had wallets, belts, a planner and several LV pieces. When my husband passed away, I no longer wanted to see LVs. I gave them all to my daughters.
Very honest review. 👍 So glad that I didn’t get a Chanel jumbo as well. The strap is too long use the bag as a crossbody and too long to carry it on one shoulder with a single chain. Basically it can only be used as a shoulder bag with both chains on the shoulder. It’s so big and heavy like carrying a brick. I totally agree about the Hermes bag too. Such an expensive bag and no strap included.

BTW I would not carry an expensive brand name suitcase or carry on to travel. Not a good idea. You know what the airport is and how hassle is the 15 hours fly to Europe to carry a luxury case. If for the reason it goes to check in to cargo, your suitcase could be damage by the handler or baggage service guy, not to say Gucci or LV suitcase are target to steal. I use Samsonite, strong and reliable and that no one cares or pay attention. Just FYI

Airline held back many customers carry-on and large bags for overhead bin, including me, simply because of no room when you are behind on the line. They did not charge me anything, but but at my connection flight they loaded my bag by accident to another flight. I found it luckily after a big drama going from one airport to another to receive my bag with important personal stuff and gifts for holidays. It happens nowadays because airlines restricted flighs due to economic issue, you barely can get a direct flight to Europe easily like before and all flights are booked full and crowded,. That's why I suggest ppl not to flight low cost. It's not worth it, it's not saving but a big headache . Did try once but never ever again

I agree with you! I have a beautiful Chanel jumbo that I used less than 5 times for the past 7 years. For LV, I will never get the monogram for the same reason, unless it's a special collaboration like the catogram. I like something with a bit twist and not too classic. It's not wise to carry a heavy leather bag like Birkin to travel. At the end of the day, no one cares about it and it is only you who feels the heavy weight. Longchamp (many limited edition that looks like no other, too) is the best carry on bag for me and you can put your kelly or smaller bag inside the luggage where you can use later instead of carrying around the airport.
I like the classics especially the L V monogram bags. Erica your points are very valid and funny at the same time. Much respect that's what fashion and style is about change.
I only use my Birkin 35 for travel. Wish I bought the 30 instead. When I travel , I stick it in a dust over and anchor it on my suitcase. This way I don’t have to carry it and it’s protected under the seat.

Just a thought, LV monogram bags are canvas. They will not hurt your arm/shoulder. Do like your videos. LV Flower Tote for X-mas - Love, However, do love my monogram neverfull. It is perfect to load up when traveling. I love your 'cat & dog' reference, It was so funny. So, different values for different needs. Things are more casual here at the beach. Then again, Beverly Hills is more 'value' fashion aware. I have noticed that you get great service/attention when shopping with a beautiful bag. Also, do have a giant leather Salvatore Ferragamo bag - heavy with nothing in it. Hardly use - still in love with it.

I have the Birkin 35 and the Chanel Jumbo Double Flap (as well as mini, small and medium sizes). I agree the Birkin 35 is extremely heavy that I don’t use it as much as I thought I would. However, I use my Jumbo all the time. I use it cross body and don’t find it heavy. Conversely, I find the medium and smaller too small. I have to leave my wallet at home and use a card holder or my keys, phone and glasses don’t fit. I also have a LV monogram purse, but it’s not very common structured bucket type (the Vavin GM) that I bought 20 years ago. I recently paid LV $300 to replace all the leather as I love it so much and it is so practical as it has numerous interior pockets and can hold my laptop. I also bought the holdall 55 snd Horizon 70 in monogram. It’s a super sleek travel look!
I love LV monogram and Damier Ebene and Damier Azur. They are so practical and you don’t need to worry about them. Full leather bags just a small scratch and ups :)

I jst bought a brand new Chanel Jumbo over a medium.. i thought of using it as a work bag on some days therefore sounds more practical than smaller sized bag.. it is one of the most timeless bags, surviving decades.. I passed on the jumbo size Channel classic flap and bought the medium in the black caviar leather with the double flap. So happy with it. Perfect size! I’m over Louis Vuitton mainly because every “wanna be” carries the canvas stuff. It doesn’t even feel like luxury to me anymore. I pass on LV to buy YSL and Givenchy. OMG!!! Love the small Antigona - own three of them in different leathers and colors - LOVE! I don’t agree with you on the Birkin 35, but see where you are coming from. I agree with everything you said about LV bags. However I still have them and just bought an alma PM last night to add to my collection. I’m lucky that my husband supports me about it. He’s reasoning is that it makes me happy and I do make my own money and it’s not affecting our bills and savings etc. I almost got all LV bags in DE it’s my favorite canvas except neverfull. It’s cheap compared to Pochette Métis for example. But every time I’m in Los Angeles I see them everywhere! I don’t like that.

I also think entry to the broken is difficult unless you leave it totally open at all times, which leaves you vulnerable to pick pocketing in airports, restaurants, charity events etc. Also I don't like taking it traveling, because mine is croc and I don't like jamming it under the seat or putting in the overhead bin.
Crystal Rubachko I carry my B35 when I travel as well. I’ve done this several times and so far it works: place my bag behind my feet and throw my blanket over my lap before take off. I make sure it covers the bag as well. It’s not smashed under the seat or in the overhead and the handle is protected. Works for me!
Great Video. I don’t carry bags except a Louis Vuitton Galaxy messenger bag that’s Black & the LVs are subtle and don’t scream LOUIS VUITTON. I also have a very nice Murakami coin purse & a Jeff Koons Bag. I don’t use them because they are works of Art. I never wear something that has the designer’s name, I’m Not a Billboard. 🤑

I only own one LV monogram bag and it happens to be the vintage Ellipse. Maybe in the future, I wouldn't mind owning one current style monogram bag. I definitely agree with avoiding the Neverfull. It's pathetic when you're standing in line with 4 other people and 3 of them are carrying a Neverfull! lol
While I’ve seen 8 million LV neverfulls in all canvas prints and the speedy too, I still really like the speedy in the empriente leather and I like the Damier Ebene. I thinks it’s the perfect bag to run errands or take to work/school. The Neonoe is a fun shape too!

I went to the Hermès store for the very first time two days ago... I must say it makes me wanna sell my Chanel purses because of their good customer service. I was wearing a stupid pink shirt, jeans and sneakers while other customers dressed well and I asked for a cheap fashion jewelry. The SA was very nice, friendly and helpful. VS at the Chanel everything was sold out, SA do a poor job on recommending products, it can be so frustrating to shop at Chanel in my opinion.
I agree. Chanel Jumbo is beautiful but is already very heavy without anything in it. It’s been sitting pretty in my closet for 5 years.
I don’t regret my bag purchases as I ignore the brand and choose something that works for me. I got a beautiful Marni bag recently. I like being a bit different but still enjoying the quality of luxury items, so I agree about the LV monogram and Chanel classic. They’re a bit boring and overdone to me. Same for Gucci if I’m honest.

I love how open and straightforward you are! I’m a sucker for LV original monogram so I try and buy bags that no one has in the monogram. And I totally agree about that darn never full! Such a rag a muffin bag! When I went to LV for a stylish alternative to a diaper bag, the SA kept pushing the neverfull on me and I’m so glad I spent the extra money on the On The Go! Was totally worth it!

I love my Chanel double flap classic, yes it's a classic but that's why I love it..being too trendy often cheapens your look...the bag I wish I never purchased is the Gucci Soho bag, it's not practical and doesn't have a good look...I have the LV neverfull MM and GM...and yes every cat and dog has one, however I just came off of a 10 day vacation trip and don't know how I would have survived without the neverful GM..it was truly a life saver because it is 'never full'!!

I am 5’4” and was offered a Gold Birkin 35 and I took it. I love it. I do have a 30 and it is also beautiful. I was offered a “special order” bag and went with the Birkin 30..waiting for it. I do enjoy my Gold 35 just as much though.

I am a true LV and CD lover but I must admit I do not buy basic bags. I am a more exotic and limited edition kind of collector. I also do those special orders that you gotta wait for 8 - 12 months like the Himalayans 🥰 now those are 100% worth the wait! I just put an order for a small Himalayan Lady Dior with rose gold hardware and mixed of crystals and a leather "Dior" Embellishments. I wanted to put crystals on the handle but I thought it would look so amazing but I didn't because; 1. It will be impractical to hold and 2. It will add weight to my bag.
I have a Birkin and Kelly both on 25. I must say I enjoy my Kelly more. But I was so over moon when I bought them. But now I don't even use it at all 😂. I think these two bags are the most overrated bag I own in my collection.
I have 3 basic rule when picking a bag;
1. Weight without my crap on it
2. Does it fit my phone as I am more into smaller bags
3. How special is it? I do not buy basic monogram of any brand except it's a gift 😂 and they specifically asked for it.
Chanel Jumbo is on my perpetual life dream wishlist. No one has it here where I live in the Midwest. I'm 5'2 and always gravitate to very large bags--the bigger the better. No mini bags for me as I hate trying to play Jenga with my items. 😊 You are spot on with the luxury purchase rationale!!!
if u are not a careless person, consider the lambskin in jumbo on the preloved market. caviar is freaking heavy after 2 hrs of walking

I just purchased my Jumbo, and I am so in love with it! Yes it is large but not as large as my Chanel lambskin quilted tote and they weigh the same IMO. I live in Colorado, we start wearing jackets in October and go through March, the jumbo is great with sweaters, vests and even heavy coats. I probably will not carry it in the summer, nor would I have purchased it if I still lived in FL. Love the bag. No regrets!

I just sold my neverful gm. It was just too darn big! I loved it a whole lot, but I never wore it, so whoever purchased it has a brand new bag, but I plan to get to get the MM size next time, or a Speedy 35.
Get the Speedy B 35, it's not much bigger than the 30 but it's big enough to throw a scarf and gloves in during the winter months or a light cardigan in the summer. It has a zip for security. If it tips over, you won't lose your items. I recommend monogram or leather as DE wears at the corners much faster than the monogram.

Travelling bag for me is longchamp with strap . Its sooooo light and you can stuff tons of things in it 😂

Try getting a backpack. There are some really nice ones out there, light, roomy, looking good. Since I gave up wearing bags I stopped having back pain, plus the arms are free. Now all my bags are piled up in storage and only the small messenger ones come out when I have a party. I also grew up dirt poor and vowed never to buy a black bag again. However in time we learn what the rich kids knew all along, that material possessions don't make us happier. So now if the choice is fashion versus comfort, I chose what makes me happier, which is comfort.

@OnWingsOfHope WOW!!!! At one time I had 15 LV, wallets and cosmetic bags, my dear husband also had wallets, belts, a planner and several LV pieces. When my husband passed away, I no longer wanted to see LVs. I gave them all to my daughters.
Very honest review. 👍 So glad that I didn’t get a Chanel jumbo as well. The strap is too long use the bag as a crossbody and too long to carry it on one shoulder with a single chain. Basically it can only be used as a shoulder bag with both chains on the shoulder. It’s so big and heavy like carrying a brick. I totally agree about the Hermes bag too. Such an expensive bag and no strap included.

BTW I would not carry an expensive brand name suitcase or carry on to travel. Not a good idea. You know what the airport is and how hassle is the 15 hours fly to Europe to carry a luxury case. If for the reason it goes to check in to cargo, your suitcase could be damage by the handler or baggage service guy, not to say Gucci or LV suitcase are target to steal. I use Samsonite, strong and reliable and that no one cares or pay attention. Just FYI

Airline held back many customers carry-on and large bags for overhead bin, including me, simply because of no room when you are behind on the line. They did not charge me anything, but but at my connection flight they loaded my bag by accident to another flight. I found it luckily after a big drama going from one airport to another to receive my bag with important personal stuff and gifts for holidays. It happens nowadays because airlines restricted flighs due to economic issue, you barely can get a direct flight to Europe easily like before and all flights are booked full and crowded,. That's why I suggest ppl not to flight low cost. It's not worth it, it's not saving but a big headache . Did try once but never ever again

I agree with you! I have a beautiful Chanel jumbo that I used less than 5 times for the past 7 years. For LV, I will never get the monogram for the same reason, unless it's a special collaboration like the catogram. I like something with a bit twist and not too classic. It's not wise to carry a heavy leather bag like Birkin to travel. At the end of the day, no one cares about it and it is only you who feels the heavy weight. Longchamp (many limited edition that looks like no other, too) is the best carry on bag for me and you can put your kelly or smaller bag inside the luggage where you can use later instead of carrying around the airport.
I like the classics especially the L V monogram bags. Erica your points are very valid and funny at the same time. Much respect that's what fashion and style is about change.
I only use my Birkin 35 for travel. Wish I bought the 30 instead. When I travel , I stick it in a dust over and anchor it on my suitcase. This way I don’t have to carry it and it’s protected under the seat.

Just a thought, LV monogram bags are canvas. They will not hurt your arm/shoulder. Do like your videos. LV Flower Tote for X-mas - Love, However, do love my monogram neverfull. It is perfect to load up when traveling. I love your 'cat & dog' reference, It was so funny. So, different values for different needs. Things are more casual here at the beach. Then again, Beverly Hills is more 'value' fashion aware. I have noticed that you get great service/attention when shopping with a beautiful bag. Also, do have a giant leather Salvatore Ferragamo bag - heavy with nothing in it. Hardly use - still in love with it.

I have the Birkin 35 and the Chanel Jumbo Double Flap (as well as mini, small and medium sizes). I agree the Birkin 35 is extremely heavy that I don’t use it as much as I thought I would. However, I use my Jumbo all the time. I use it cross body and don’t find it heavy. Conversely, I find the medium and smaller too small. I have to leave my wallet at home and use a card holder or my keys, phone and glasses don’t fit. I also have a LV monogram purse, but it’s not very common structured bucket type (the Vavin GM) that I bought 20 years ago. I recently paid LV $300 to replace all the leather as I love it so much and it is so practical as it has numerous interior pockets and can hold my laptop. I also bought the holdall 55 snd Horizon 70 in monogram. It’s a super sleek travel look!
I love LV monogram and Damier Ebene and Damier Azur. They are so practical and you don’t need to worry about them. Full leather bags just a small scratch and ups :)

I jst bought a brand new Chanel Jumbo over a medium.. i thought of using it as a work bag on some days therefore sounds more practical than smaller sized bag.. it is one of the most timeless bags, surviving decades.. I agree with everything you said about LV bags. However I still have them and just bought an alma PM last night to add to my collection. I’m lucky that my husband supports me about it. He’s reasoning is that it makes me happy and I do make my own money and it’s not affecting our bills and savings etc. I almost got all LV bags in DE it’s my favorite canvas except neverfull. It’s cheap compared to Pochette Métis for example. But every time I’m in Los Angeles I see them everywhere! I don’t like that.

the gucci super mini!!, i loved it and it was budget friendly, i loved the idea i could also use it as a hip bag, but i hardly ever wore it and it started to crease like crazy!!, i was so dissapointed and decided to sell it before it got worse...

I also think entry to the broken is difficult unless you leave it totally open at all times, which leaves you vulnerable to pick pocketing in airports, restaurants, charity events etc. Also I don't like taking it traveling, because mine is croc and I don't like jamming it under the seat or putting in the overhead bin.
Crystal Rubachko I carry my B35 when I travel as well. I’ve done this several times and so far it works: place my bag behind my feet and throw my blanket over my lap before take off. I make sure it covers the bag as well. It’s not smashed under the seat or in the overhead and the handle is protected. Works for me!

I totally agree about the Jumbo! Once I actually got the chance to try one on, it was officially off my wishlist. Also, I purchased a Dior lambskin shoulder bag and that one was definitely a regret. Lol. Now, girl, I love me an Alma! I add a fab bandeau to the handles to add a little oomph. I like that the Alma and Speedy are a classic look that won't go out of style. I only own one LV monogram bag and it happens to be the vintage Ellipse. Maybe in the future, I wouldn't mind owning one current style monogram bag. I definitely agree with avoiding the Neverfull. It's pathetic when you're standing in line with 4 other people and 3 of them are carrying a Neverfull! lol
While I’ve seen 8 million LV neverfulls in all canvas prints and the speedy too, I still really like the speedy in the empriente leather and I like the Damier Ebene. I thinks it’s the perfect bag to run errands or take to work/school. The Neonoe is a fun shape too!
