I have NEVER heard Maynard open up and relax in an interview like this. Laughing and joking and being honest. Not dodgy or sarcastic. What did Maron put in his water?
Concerned Citizens of the Internet Having had a good fortune to have dinner and talk wine with the man, I can assure you he is pretty far from being a "celebrity" kind whatsoever.
I love that Harmon doesn't suck him off... he say when he first heard Tool it was because he was TOLD to listen to it, and even at that he admits it was tight, but it wasn't his thing. Honesty, which I am sure earned some mutual respect
Yes, the people in Michigan, especially around Detroit, Lansing, Grand Rapids, Port Huron, Traverse City, , are all very normal. There's no more churches here than anywhere else. I've always loved gun, strictly because I was a rebellious little motherfucker but I didnt (legally) own a gun til I was 29. I did however own my first Tool album at the age of 12/13 and the line in Opiate "Jesus Christ, Why dontcha come save my life now. Open my eyes, light me with your life," was very clearly saw as blasphemous (which i s why I liked it) but I definitely had to hide my Tool & Marilyn Manson albums. But Ive lived in Detroit, Huntington Beach and Vegas and aside from LA, people from warmer climates seem to be nicer or shadier than people from cold climates, thats the only bit of wisdom I can offer.
Good interview, but Marc isn't quite as musically savvy as he thinks he is. Kinda winced when he was sarcastic and incredulous about Joni Mitchell being an influence - oh well.
The Interview with Maynard begins at 10:14
You are my hero. 😝

The interviewer is half of the quality of an interview. Marc is probably an easy guy to relax and feel casual around
He does seem to be able to get things out of people. Not sure why. But a great interview.
Check out the JRE episodes they are fantastic.
He loves comedy and comedians.
First time listener here, You got my subscribe buddy. Kudos on the great work you do
one of the best interview's I've listened to of Maynard. this must have been early last year or something.

This interview is so much better than all the JRE episodes with Maynard.
I can't watch tthis right now because im sick and interviewer is loud but i will watch it later., I promise. Good job.
he's seems to be a normal, function member of the human race and there's no way anyone could prove otherwise
the vinter of out discontent lmao
Until now, I don't think I've ever seen an interview where Maynard was just normal. He seems to have handled being a celebrity extremely well.
