The piano oratorio for a speaking pianist is based on the Oscar’s Wilde’s text.
De Profundis (Latin: "from the depths") is a letter written by Oscar Wilde during his imprisonment in Reading Gaol, to "Bosie" (Lord Alfred Douglas). In its first half, Wilde recounts their lifestyle which eventually led to Wilde's conviction and imprisonment. In the second half, Wilde charts his spiritual development in prison.
The performance took place in June 2024, in Amsterdam, De Balie and was dedicated to the political prisoners in Russia, especially to a writer Svetlana Petriychuk and a theatre director Zhenya Berkovich.
