The hot entrees come frozen - sorta like a Stouffer's meal. In the case of flights departing from Europe, they're made at a huge factory not too far from Frankfurt Airport in Alzey. Doesn't matter where you're departing from in Europe, you get the same thing. I remember watching a video where they went to the factory and showed how they were made. My father didn't like his pasta either. Apparently the chicken teriyaki is quite decent though.
@@dexplorer_vids worth mentioning that most of the business class and premium economy food is not frozen. I think some AC omelettes are, but the main lunch/dinner courses in premium classes are prepared fresh, so the quality will vary based on where you are flying out from. Some airports have good catering and some don't. With Frankfurt it seems to depend on who they use - if it's Do&Co then it is generally very good. Gulf Air uses them and when I flew from Frankfurt to Bangkok via Bahrain (in business) I thought what was provided out of Frankfurt was some of the best airplane food ever. If they use anyone else it's very hit-or-miss. And I can tell you that AC does not use Do&Co in FRA.
I did not have any issues on my last few AC flights but when I had to fly on an United code share flight, OMG that was bad!!! Food selection, horrible washrooms, the fact you were denied food if you were not in your seat at the time of meal service (i.e. washroom!), just the worst experience ever.
Air Canada about 15 years ago lost my suitcase and never found it again. It disappeared. I guess it was stolen. Flew Geneva to Montreal connecting to New York. Though the max allowable compensation was about $1,600 offered about 3 months after, they only offered about half. I took them to the people's court and they paid the difference. Legroom was good. Food so so. Great they have an extra menu. United and American are worse. Wow free newspapers. Impressive. What was the desert?
My best advice for air canada is NEVER EVER FLY air canada, I swore them off years ago. You were incredibly lucky to have friendly staff, its very rare. THey hire a lot of french Canadians, and they almost always are sour and rude, typical of the French, but you would think they would put in an effort being paid what they get paid. Westjet is barely better, but Canada really gets the shaft when it comes to airlines.

Ah I didn't know that! Thanks for the info! I wish I got the chicken teriyaki instead, it looked better.

The dessert was the marble cake, sorry to hear you had a bad experience with them!
The catering on International flights in economy does needs some upgrading
the pasta - yuck
your music is very loud !
Thanks for the feedback
I have thousands of Aeroplan miles and even for free, I don’t want to travel with Air Canada.
They don't stand tall, they suck in every conceivable way.
Air Canada still garbage
