A weekend in Quebec City - What we saw, ate, and did!
Me and my wife decided to take a short trip to Quebec City during our winter sojourn in Montreal, a place we somehow never managed to go to even while we're in the area.
So here's a different sort of vlog - instead of an aviation review or trip report, here are the sights of a European-style city that we fell in love with.
Check out what we were up to, and let me know how you like this format in the comments!
I'll be posting more city/destination content in future. Your feedback will help fine tune my content. Thanks a million, and have a great Christmas!

TRIP REPORT | Can British Airways be good? Flying a refurbished B787 from London to Montreal

This is a non-audio review. British Airways (BA) is the UK’s largest airline and has a great network with service to many destinations in the United States and Canada - including our current home base, Montreal. So, me and my wife had the opportunity to try their long-haul cabin service on one of their Boeing 787-8s on a flight from London to Montreal. This was one of BA's first Dreamliners and...
What is Starlux Airlines (星宇航空), and why is it SO GOOD? Transpacific from Singapore to San Francisco
มุมมอง 2K14 วันที่ผ่านมา
Starlux is probably the best airline in the world right now. And even if it isn't, it's hard to argue that they aren't unique. Because they are. On my recent trip to North America I was musing about what made the airline so special. And then it hit me - they've probably had the time to do their research on fine tuning their product even when the world was hit with a global crisis. The result? A...

can i ask the number of the seat?
I recently flew on them from Oslo to Hong Kong- The service was very good, the rest? Meh... Plus, the "best in the world" Doha airport is just terrible. Crowded, disorganized, slow, and what is with ther 20-minute bus rides from the terminal to the plane?
Yes, the airport is really a pain point in the whole journey!
What was the movie you saw on the plane, it looks interesting.
Darkest Hour with Gary Oldman and Kristin Scott Thomas.
I’m assuming you were trying to say “The train car? It’s probably OLDER than me, yes? Sorry I had to screen shot that sentence. It’s funny 😆 😂
Yeah it's definitely old haha and I might have forgot to check

Love your content sir. Will be flying with sq to San Francisco in may 2025 but will definitely try starlux for future flights.
Starlux Airlines is Taiwan's most marketing-savvy airline, leveraging influencers to overshadow negative issues like flight delays.
@@張子凌-o7r oh for sure! I’ll look forward to covering them in my next video
The normal food on this route is one of the best I've seen on UA so far; and the Kosher meals were fantastic but it's sad to see how they're packed. Meanwhile, the lavatories are never cleaned inflight, no matter how badly smell it is; base on my experience with them.
@@TripReportaviation oh dear I didn’t realise that they don’t bother cleaning the bathrooms. But yes normal meals are ok, kosher meals are like that because of the religious reasons I guess
It's awesome that United are still producing their inflight magazine, unlike other profit driven airlines who use covid as a lazy excuse for avoiding having to supply a inflight magazine., love your awesome flight reviews there Dexplorer🛫👍
any snacks in between or by the galley?
Ah no but these can be easily requested from the crew and they do distribute these regularly throughout the flight
Why Starlux doesn't fly to Europe, South Korea, Mainland China & Australia? I assume they don't fly to Europe because of the restriction on Russia & Middle East airspace.
@@NADIFPUTRA_787_9 possibly although I think they are trying to grow sustainably. If it’s the airspace they have a workaround through BKK like EVA Air, but then that’s not very convenient…

Trains operate differently from planes. Safety briefings are not standard practice for rail travel, not just on VIA Rail but worldwide…
Yes, but as I showed in the video, it's quite clear that VIA Rail didn't even follow the regulations set out by the regulator. Whether or not it's a practice worldwide isn't the issue.
Nice, but they can improve on their seat specs, it may be a little tight comparing to Eva and China airlines. The ife is great in size, but obviously not as extensive as EK. The food looks good, and I’m sure the crew is exemplary like any other airline from Taiwan. I’d give it a 9.3/10.
I agree, the seat could be a little more spacious! It's definitely not as spacious as the other airlines you mentioned.
Nothing out of ordinary about this flight, but that's what I'd like my experience to be on a long-haul flight. It's a little bit sad about the ports considering the A350-1000 was quite new.
Yeah that's sad to see the ports weren't working!

Thank you! Cheers!
The best economy class in my honest opinion.
i am planning to fly BA prem economy from Singapore via LHR to GLA this Dec. How was the flight and was it crowded?
Oh this flight I took was fully booked. Not a single seat left in economy.
@dexplorer_vids I see. Yikes, never a fan of full flight.
I have some questions: 1. Does entering the UK is quite strict especially from the non-ETA citizens? 2. Is it correct that in UK there are no exit checkpoint?
@@NADIFPUTRA_787_9 1. Depends on the situation. You must have a visa for entry if you don’t have a visa waiver passport. But if you have a valid US visa , Canada or EU visa, or PR of US Canada and Australia you can take a stopover for one day visa-free (based on officer discretion and your travel plan). 2. UK has no exit checks no need to go through immigration on your way out Hope that helps!
A321 seats are a step down from the A350. Shame they are not using their best hardware.
@@ongyekron yeah true I think they could have gone the extra mile with a slightly better IFE and power sockets. But service is seriously awesome.
great video. Those planes loom comfy. Did you check in a bag? Were they strict with the weight
Yeah checked in one bag for this flight - mine was within the limit
That is a cool flight. I am wondering what times you departed and arrived and the dates for your Tokyo to Vancouver flight. I know that you gain time because you crossed the international date line.
@@tyleroravec4778 My flight departed at around 1215 if I remember correctly, and I arrived in Tokyo around 4pm the next day…
Thank you for the insightful review. My wife and I are planning to fly this route (SFO-TPE) in March and are still deciding on our seats. It's unfortunate that pre-selecting seats isn't included in the fare.
Hey! Yes preselection is not included in the most basic fare tiers, but you can preselect them 24 hours before the flight when you check in online.

did you check in a bag
Not on this particular flight! I checked in one on my return LAX - SIN. Will talk about that in another video!
How much are Starlux tickets compared with EVA or China Air? Have flown on EVA and China AIr but never Starlux
Well this one was cheaper than EVA but around the same as China Airlines. I paid around 1.1K SGD for a round trip
I feel like from SFO, Asiana is always the cheapest in general for all Asian destinations like Bangkok, but for direct flights to Taipei it’s prob Starlux, China airlines, Then Eva air as the most expensive.

Nice flight review. How does it feel to fly in the 737 max?
It was alright! Not the best Max though, I prefer United's...
Premium Economy is considered a separate cabin...

Customer service on board was good, just that they're a little raw (fresh) as they're probably new hires. Also at the counter they were friendly. They didn't bother checking my backpack...

@@canto_v12 yes they have certainly come back strong without losing too much
Great video! I’ll be taking STARLUX next month. Did you pay for seat selection?
Hey! No I got my seats when I checked in online. You can do so 48 hours before your flight (24 hours when departing the US).
@@dexplorer_vids good to know. I’ll be traveling from Taipei to Vietnam so will complimentary seat selection be available 48 hours before departure or does it vary depending on fare purchased?
Is AC a LCC or a FFC? It seems a hybrid. I'll bet those free drinks are just a response to competition from Porter which rates higher than AC. How long is that going to last?
Yes strangely hybrid but that’s only cos international flights have complimentary meals. I can tell you from my experience that those aren’t very good either!
