  • Arjun Erigaisi is playing for team Metz Fischer in the French League 2024 and has begun with 4.5/5. With wins over strong players like Harikrishna, Kunin, Alonso, he has raced to 2770 and is currently world no.5. Briefly for a day he even reached world no.4. What a powerful player this youngster is! Hats off to his fighting spirit and we wish him the best for his journey towards 2800. IM Sagar Shah shows you his 14 move win over an IM and excerpts from his other 3 games.

    Arjun is a beast!! I had seen his game a year ago and was fully convinced he is gonna be one of the top players.
    Amazing progress - all support to Arjun!

    Arjun is actually not getting the deserved recognition, tbh he is on par with Gukesh and Prag (better than them in ratings) but he is not as popular as them because of his reservedness.

      Nope because he doest play opponents of top 10 - 20 much and rarely beats them ...prag and gukesh are famous for beating magnus , hikaru ,caruana, ding , nepo

      yup that is very true but hey we gotta recognize that arjun is brave enough to play in open tournaments since he's also risking of losing A LOT of elo when he loses@@devinedas1342

      Are unpad bas underrated underrated karna ata hai. Pragg and Gukesh are popular because they're playing with the absolute best players in the world. Arjun is climbing the ranks and once he starts getting invited to top tourneys and defeating top players he will get his well deserved recognition.

    2770 is absolutely astonishing and serious and Arjun is rightfully #5 FIDE now, surpassing both Gukesh and Pragg. That being said, this win against an 2450-ish IM was not the most impressive win in this tournament, this must go to his win against Pentala Harikrishna (ELO 2699) from the same tournament.

    How does his ELO keep going up so quickly with wins over a lot of lower rated opponents? Not hating, just curious! Gukesh and Pragg, I understand as they have been playing and winning against a lot of 2700 and 2800 level players...

    • @chesswithsamarth1004
      @chesswithsamarth1004 หลายเดือนก่อน +12

      Thing is even though Arjun is playing against lower rated opponents , he is winning almost every game which he plays and another thing is he is playing more games than any player. He is literally playing almost every open tournament. Gukesh didn't played any classical tournament after candidates and Norway Chess is Pragg's first tournament after candidates. But If Arjun loses any game that will hurt him very badly.

    World no 5 and not getting invited to tournaments? There is clearly something wrong with current chess. All flock together to gain more views either the regular streamer GMs or Magnus while others get ignored and lost in the crowd like they did to Ju Wenjun at the event.
