Asics is such a criminally underrated brand. They make some fantastic shoes, and as you mentioned their importance to sports brands and shoes is huge.

I’m really deep into the v(s), I’m debating between the Brazils, aqua gray yellows, salmon, and the Rastas, so many good colorways, the ones in the video are pretty nice as well, I’ve never seen them before, great to see asics get some love

This shoe is much more comfortable than my air max and other nike shoes.
The gel lite V model has a gel pad under the front area as well.
Similar built structure could be seen on Adidas Torsion 2.0 which came out in '95-'96 (socks tounge system). I had those back in the day, but Asics is far more better.
