Dan and Garett gave this slow classic a totally new life and turned it into a real headbanger. Many thanks for your reaction to the amazing Dan Vasc and Garett!
Agreed! I kinda dislike when there's a cover made but they're literally just singing the song the exact same way with the same melody. A cover should TRANSFORM the song!
So happy you reacted to this one by Dan, who transformed it from a beautiful but sad ballad to a powerful metal anthem. His voice is capable of singing any style of music masterfully. The very oldest video on his channel is his first venture on YT and he wasn't even very serious yet. He voice was also untrained and very raw. He has left it there so we can see the progress that was made as he has become the incredible vocalist of today. He finds it cringe to listen to it but it keeps him humble. Check out his progress less than a year later and you will see the beginning of greatness start to appear. His early cover of Dream On is amazing. Thanks for another great reaction to Dan and I look forward to the next one.
He released an updated version of Dragonforce's The Last Journey Home cover 10 years later. Wow, what a difference. You should definitely react to that one.
Excellent reaction! First time I’ve watched your channel, but I’ll be back! Tommy Johansson is releasing a version of this at 3:00 am Oregon time Friday September 6. Looking forward to it. Found Tommy after TH-cam suggested Majestica four years ago, after I first found Dan’s channel. The Sound of Silence was my first song by him, on 9/15/20, and I’ve been happily addicted to his music ever since. Any Dan song reactions will be appreciated!
Lol a lot different than you thought it would be huh lol... Found Dan going on 8 years ago. He is such an awesome singer, performer, song writer, arranger, etc. etc. and a very good person in general. He took this sad, sad song and made a completely different song out of it... He and Garret nailed it... Enjoyed your reaction... thank you... And welcome to the Vasc rabbit hole. You have a great ride ahead of you with this man.
I really do hope you go back and pick up on a bunch of the videos by the young man most of us call "Baby Dan." You kind of hit it all the way around, about all of the changes he's been through. He has studied, practiced, learned, changed his whole studio settings (more than once), discovered how to both mix and master (though sometimes he has others working through those things. He now also arranges (though he has others who help with that, as well), and he is a tried and true chameleon with all of the different styles he has learned so well. Even if you don't like opera, you should also check out some of Dan's operatic offerings (my favorite is his rendition of "Music of the Night" from "Phantom of the Opera"). There are others. Perhaps the best thing any reacto could do is put up Dan's channel screen, close one's eyes, use the scroll button and go up and down randomly, then stop...and react to the video that is on your screen at the moment. You honestly can't miss! I would also suggest going to Victor the Guitar Nerd's channel and searching THERE for Dan Vasc songs that are only kept there. I think you will like them, also. Dan also was a session singer with Orion's Reign (from Greece) for a while, some years back. My favorite of any of those recordings is their version of AC/DC's THUNDERSTRUCK! You won't find Dan's name anywhere in all of their listed credits (grrr), but...the song is very obviously "HIS," as far as its success is concerned. Anyway...THANKS for your great reaction to "My Heart Will Go On." 😀
I didn't really like the original, but Dan's version is phenomenal! Thanks for your reaction! Btw, if you want to see Dan Vasc being really emotional, check out The Last Goodbye or Son of Pain.
YES...or his tribute to his Father, just five days after he passed away (he mad a PINNED comment about that): "An American Trilogy" which was his dad's favorite Elvis song. Talk about emotional. I can't watch it without crying WITH him. Then there's the one other Elvis song that he's done, too, which is in CONNECTION with the first one. It has a very important intro on it, that explains...
Great selection and reaction! You talk about Monsters and I saw that reaction video, which i appreciated that you posted. Its got a pile of views in just a couple of weeks! So if anyone hasn't seen that reaction to Monsters, you should watch it! I made a comment previously that you should react to Phil Collins "In the Air" live concert, that was a cool performance! This video reminded me of how i like watching live performances.
