This issue did belong to Sexton as he clearly stated in the video, since he was even on the board of the Sword of the Lord with Hyles, and therefore had a national responsibility in these events. He says all our failings are criminal in nature after supporting Hyles and Schaap and using James 4:17 to do it. You're right, this was very misleading by everyone involved - Sexton, Hyles, and Schaap. And that's why the title is accurate. He would never call them criminal, even after they proved themselves to be. But you are, according to him, if you don't do all you can all the time for people like them. If you think that's irrational, I can't help it. Truthfulness is still a major requirement for preachers. Schaap didn't fall into immorality, Christian. He was teaching immorality at Hyles-Anderson. Jack Hyles taught immorality also. And Jack and David Hyles were immoral long before Schaap. Many of the quotes from Schaap's 2005 book "Marriage: The Divine Intimacy" were as immoral as the disgusting things he was saying right up to the last sermon before his arrest. Jack Schaap is simply the fruit of Jack Hyles' influence. Clarence Sexton was lying about Hyles and Schaap in this video, and he KNEW he was lying about Hyles and Schaap. For twenty years they were too controversial to even associate with (because of all of Jack Hyles' scandals). For twenty years, Sexton didn't preach for them and they didn't preach for him, because they were too controversial. Then suddenly, Sexton thought it had been long enough and thought he could whitewash their whole history of scandal and immorality and call it good. And when he said what he said about Jack Hyles and Schaap, he knew very well what he was doing. He was lying with a capital L. Yet that wouldn't have been such an unbearable thing if Sexton himself hadn't been one of the most self-righteous men on the planet. Here was a man who thought he could tell YOU how YOU have to dress when YOU go to Walmart, and everything else in your life. A man with a nasty attitude, who sucked the joy out of life wherever he went. Who couldn't smile (when he wasn't on stage), who couldn't be friendly, who couldn't be kind, who treated his students like property, and yet for all of his supposed righteousness was ready to lie whenever it suited him because he knew people like you would always believe him. And the reason this is still so important and still worth talking about is because THOUSANDS of preachers modeled themselves after Hyles, despite so much of what Hyles said and did being wrong. Hyles, with his control on the Sword of the Lord and his iron grip on a large number of IFB preachers, was for a time able to cover the rot which was going on in Hammond. That was before the internet, and now this corruption is out in the open for all to see. Be cautious and use discretion, but do not fear to expose evil. I've taken down a few videos that made fun of these preachers, because even though that made me feel better and may have helped others see how ridiculous some things are, that's probably not the way I should go about it. There are so many people who are still denying these things, and partially because they've been lied to for so long. Fortunately, there are others who already understand. If Jack Hyles did something bad, he is now facing the consequences, he is in heaven being accountable for his doings. All I know is that many of his teachings have been a great help to me. He says all our failings are criminal in nature after supporting Hyles and Schaap and using James 4:17 to do it. You're right, this was very misleading by everyone involved - Sexton, Hyles, and Schaap. And that's why the title is accurate. He would never call them criminal, even after they proved themselves to be. But you are, according to him, if you don't do all you can all the time for people like them. Our shortcomings in nature are criminal. He included himself as the primary example. He isn’t banging the drum for Hyles. This is just a man speaking humbly about a situation where he let a brother in Christ down by not doing what he knew was best. Hyles wasn’t perfect. Jack Hyles committed adultery with Jennie Nischik for decades. His son was an adulterous monster, who he covered for repeatedly, ruining many lives in several churches. A.V. Ballenger was a convicted child-molester he fully supported, despite the molestation conviction. That indicates you do believe it's authoritative, and gives us something to work with. An even simpler verse, all the way back in the book of Exodus says, "Thou shalt not bear false witness," and that applies even to Sexton and Jack Hyles. If you think that's irrational, I can't help it.
Truthfulness is still a major requirement for preachers.
There's nothing wrong with you quoting Bible verses, as long as you're not doing so hypocritically to justify the defense of scandal-mongers. Ad hominem attacks against me doesn't change that.
Misusing Romans 14:4 doesn't help either, since God has very definitely judged these issues according to 1 Timothy 3 - the requirements for pastors and deacons. Hyles was disqualified because of many offenses, though his cult members went along with him.

It's best not to stick your nose in other church's business. Who has time for all that any how.
This is a legitimate question, what is your beef against Sexton? At the time he was supporting Schaap was probably before Schaap fell into immorality.
Schaap didn't fall into immorality, Christian. He was teaching immorality at Hyles-Anderson. Jack Hyles taught immorality also. And Jack and David Hyles were immoral long before Schaap. Many of the quotes from Schaap's 2005 book "Marriage: The Divine Intimacy" were as immoral as the disgusting things he was saying right up to the last sermon before his arrest. Jack Schaap is simply the fruit of Jack Hyles' influence.
Clarence Sexton was lying about Hyles and Schaap in this video, and he KNEW he was lying about Hyles and Schaap. For twenty years they were too controversial to even associate with (because of all of Jack Hyles' scandals). For twenty years, Sexton didn't preach for them and they didn't preach for him, because they were too controversial. Then suddenly, Sexton thought it had been long enough and thought he could whitewash their whole history of scandal and immorality and call it good. And when he said what he said about Jack Hyles and Schaap, he knew very well what he was doing.
He was lying with a capital L. Yet that wouldn't have been such an unbearable thing if Sexton himself hadn't been one of the most self-righteous men on the planet. Here was a man who thought he could tell YOU how YOU have to dress when YOU go to Walmart, and everything else in your life. A man with a nasty attitude, who sucked the joy out of life wherever he went. Who couldn't smile (when he wasn't on stage), who couldn't be friendly, who couldn't be kind, who treated his students like property, and yet for all of his supposed righteousness was ready to lie whenever it suited him because he knew people like you would always believe him.
If you really want to honor God, burying your head in the sand and believing any lie any two-faced preacher wants to tell you just because you don't want to hear the truth will not do. And the reason this is still so important and still worth talking about is because THOUSANDS of preachers modeled themselves after Hyles, despite so much of what Hyles said and did being wrong. To the point that he ended up becoming one of the world's greatest charlatans really. And that's before we even get to Schaap.
If you want to believe Clarence Sexton's whitewashing of extremely corrupt and criminal preachers, go ahead, despite the mountain of evidence against what he's saying. But don't pretend that you have any love for the truth if you do. And don't pretend to fear God over men if you do either. God doesn't need people to lie for him, and cover up what lying men have done. He expects real men to put their foot down, and say, “Enough is enough. Stop lying.” That's my beef. And I'll have it until fundamentalists tell the truth. At which point they probably won't be fundamentalists. Because at that point, they'll care more about being real Christians than salvaging the reputations of adulterers, crooks, and criminals.
The reason you're resisting what I'm saying is because it would change what you think of fundamentalist preachers. Either they've been lying, or I am. And I'm not.

Refundamental Joe nothing frightens false teachers more than their teachings and behavior being exposed to the light of day. Hyles, with his control on the Sword of the Lord and his iron grip on a large number of IFB preachers, was for a time able to cover the rot which was going on in Hammond. That was before the internet, and now this corruption is out in the open for all to see. Be cautious and use discretion, but do not fear to expose evil. Peter did so in his Second Epistle, which in chapter 2 aptly describes Hyles and others who Lord it over the flock of God.
Jeff Dollar, you have been such an encouragement to me through your videos. I have great admiration for your honesty about those things. I do need to be cautious and use discretion. I've taken down a few videos that made fun of these preachers, because even though that made me feel better and may have helped others see how ridiculous some things are, that's probably not the way I should go about it. There are so many people who are still denying these things, and partially because they've been lied to for so long. Fortunately, there are others who already understand. I intend to continue for now making more information available. But I do want to use discretion like you said.

Extreme fundamentalists hate this because it is turning the proof texts they often use to justify their attacks on others against them. I really do want to be kind and gracious to fundamentalists who may disagree with my doctrine and practice, but at the same time there are grievous wolves among them that need to be exposed and called out by name, as Alexander the coppersmith and others. This really should be done by their more orthodox fundamentalist fellows. These proud and rude imposters need exposed to the light of day. It was this very thing that delivered me from Hyles' mind control back in the late 80's, when the spiritual facade crumbled to reveal the carnal reality.
