I would love to have a Catfishing Jet Jon. I think it would be great, especially for the streams, creeks, and rivers in my area, and would make fishing coves of the lakes easier.
Did you put a primer etcher on before you did the the fiberglass? Then a etcher on before the bed liner? Or how did you prep it to do the fiberglass and how does paint/ fiberglass work with the 3m 5200?
Wish I could have one in Australia, but 1, I can't get the hull or one similar cheap, and can't get a JetSki motor or whole ski cheap looking around $15,000 here in Australia. 😩
How long did all this take found a similar boat? Wanted to do the same thing as well any advice ? how did get the transom of the jet ski line up with the transom of the boat to be one solid piece?
That is sick, very cool video and boat. Do you still have it? Where at up in Georgia? I want to come ride in it and make a video for my channel... Makes me want to build one now.
whats the side depth on that one? looks alot deeper since the engine doesnt sit up so high like the white 14 you did... both look great by the way , but love how this one turned out, gathering info to start my own . thanks
SC Designs yah, i have been looking at tracker jons but i think id rather go this rout instead. anything i need to know about setting the jet ski bottom in? as far as angle or anything?.. or just keep it flush?.. sorry so many questiins, you seem to have better luck with these than other people.
If a person had the boat and wave runner what would you charge to build it for someone just setting everything up to run. What length is the boat and how much does the boat cost. I have a 1200gpr I would love to set in a boat
What length is that boat? And where are you located the donor I will be using is a 150hp 1200 gpr and how long would it take you to do it Just like that one except with a hole for a live well
Wow how cool! The speakers look awesome! I loved the song in your video, what song is that? I tried to search on Google: "dun dun dur dun du dun dur dun du dun," couldn't find it.
Acro Stars inboard engines don't apply to the hp ratings. Already went through process to find out. This is boat is now entered into the homemade category therefore all prior labels are exempt.
jsjrspivey I'm currently building a 17' tracker with a 155hp 4-stroke Sea-Doo for a customer, got 2 builds after this one to go. I will post a build video of it when I'm finished but it will be a month until then. If you want to see current build pics, go to my Instagram account sc_designs77. I post weekly there.
The initial bond is 3M 5200 and stainless screws, once it was all cured I put fiberglass over the screw heads and seams to add strength and to make the bottom as smooth as possible. The fiberglass has been holding up great on all my builds. The oldest one is 3 years old and is used all the time and there is no sign of the glass trying to deteriorate.
SC Designs have you ever bottomed out with one? the river we fish gets pretty low a4ound this time with no rain and was wondering if you thought it would hold up to occasional gravel scraping the bottom
Carraige bolts can be used but it wont be as clean. I use #10 stainless phillip head screws 1" long. I space the screws about every 4"s along the edge of the cut hole. They hold, along with the 3M 5200. When the 3M drys you just about can take the screws out thats how strong the bond is but lets don't advise that...lol
Yes I am, I'm up here in Mitchell Co. We run these boats in Newton, Vada and Spring Creek. I have a larger Runabout boat that we take to Bainbridge and hang out at the North Sand Bar. You wouldn't happen to know Jimmy Ward?
@@scuba5904 funny you say that when I was buying a motor for my flat, I called the DNR and asked if I could buy a bigger motor than recommended because I was told its illegal and he told me "no that doesn't really matter as much as the weight"

I am starting another build for a customer in a week, it will be another 16/48 with a 110hp seadoo, then after that I have a 14/48 to build with an 80hp yamaha. Beautiful build.
That was an ambitious project! Love the finished product!
Beautiful build, nicely done!
Holy mackerel Batman. I’ve always thought of doing this it’s nice to see it can be done thanks

hey sc, what is approx height of your speaker tower. looks great! or would you suggest going taller or shorter ?

The speakers must be there to entertain the bass when fishing
What Sony unit is that??
Bad ass how much for one?
Where do you steer from though
I would like to this this to my 1648.. how did you hook up your stick steer?
I used the steering for the jet ski, just turned vertical with one piece of pipe attached to it.
really nice> do you have any videos on just the build alone? I would like to see how you did you hull!
This is the only build video that i have

does it plain?

There is no horsepower limit on inboards in the state of Georgia. If it was still an outboard, then there would still be a restriction.
