I, as a saxophonist, am still blown-away at how full and rich the totality of the sound is! It's truly impressive that this is a band made-up entirely of saxophones and very little (if anything at all) seems like it is missing from the sound of a full-orchestra! Bravo!!!🎷
Sometimes I put something from this ensemble on and ask people what instruments they hear and they hear french horns, oboes, bassoons, cellos, flutes, all sorts of things. It's really remarkable how the saxophone can access so many timbres.

the "pizzicato" in bari is such a thing!
They have a recording of Carnival of Venice with Kenneth Tse and the way the low saxes mimic plucked strings blows my mind
