    just built my own pedal-board with a few different types of pedals.
    as im being introduced to how all of this works and what i'm researching, i'm finding that despite behringers pedals being extremely cheap, they seem to deliver incredible tones and are worth buying and utilizing.
    Again, i'm new to all of them, but so far i've only found the octave pedal to be one i dont like. everything else im very excited to utilize. these pedals sound and look great!

      I usually run mine as one of the first pedals to clean up the signal before it hits the pedals.. but you can put them anywhere really.. I've heard a popular thing is to put them after gain/distortion pedals so you can still clean up the sound but maintain giving those gain pedals a full sound to work from.. also I've heard about people putting them in FX loops and at the end of a signal chain and using them as a substitute for the amp eq.. I tried that put it wasn't my cuppa tea.. the amps frequencies always sound sweeter to me..

      @lawrencegenereux8567 6 ปีที่แล้ว +9

      Preston Callahan Absolutely. An EQ pedal is probably the most underrated effects pedal, but if used correctly, it is amazing. The possibilities are almost endless. Just know up front that when you start boosting frequencies, any noise going into the pedal (hiss, hum, etc.) will also be boosted. This is not something wrong with the pedal, it is just the way any EQ works BTW, I have and use 8 Behringer pedals alongside pedals by Fultone, DOD, Boss, Morley, BBE, Ibanez, Danelectro and others, and the Behringer pedals work great and have lasted years without failure. I would also STRONGLY suggest the Behringer TM300. It's a tube amp modeler that really works and is extremely versatile.

    • @swmorgan515
      @swmorgan515 5 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      An eq pedal can serve a lot of useful purposes. Solo boost at the end of the chain (volume and/or mid frequencies to cut through the mix). Subtractive EQ to enhance clarity on a clean or distorted tone. You can even use it at the front of your chain to replace your guitar's volume knob and engage it for a cleaner tone.

Lol. Has anyone had one break yet? Glocks are made out of plastic and the shoot fucking bullets! Some people are just dumb. Besides, I have a Behringer distortion pedal and it’s killer. Again, 25$. Yes, Glocks are made of polymer but that's not where the bullets come out ha-ha. The bullets come out of a steel barrel. Having said that Glocks (and other guns) have VERY tough polymer that I've seen literally dragged behind a truck and they still work. I reckon these Behringer pedals would be tough as nails as well. I've ordered a few of them, just playing the wait game now...Can't wait! Not gonna try dragging them behind a truck tho.

    • @robertbull6895
      @robertbull6895 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Meagain Okay Thanks for the suggestion. Most of my amps don’t have effects loops. Putting it in effects loop reduces the amplification (later stage of amp) so it is less noticeable. Happens regardless of pickup type. I have listened to some other TH-cam demos and heard it. It is white noise caused by inferior components and poor circuit board layout. Seems other brands with same circuit do not have this problem.

    • @meagainokay7673
      @meagainokay7673 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@robertbull6895 Shame you don't have an effects loop. A lot of people recommend placing eq in them like this guy here th-cam.com/video/t80uF_GJPR4/w-d-xo.html
      I have ordered one of these pedals and I'll let you know if it's noisy or not. I have heard some people having noise issues and others that don't. Also, Behringer sell a lot of their circuit boards to larger manufacturers so I'm surprised to hear about inferior boards. Oh well, I suppose it's like everything these days, you get good batches and bad ones I guess. Good luck.
      Edit: I've just watched 3 more vids and the only noise I can hear is coming from single coils...Can you flick me a link where it's happening with humbuckers please? I just hope mine works.
      Cheers!

    • @meagainokay7673
      @meagainokay7673 5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@robertbull6895 Okay I have the Behringer EQ700 pedal now and did some testing so I could pass it on so it may (or may not) help you with your noise issue.
      I'm running the pedal where it should be in the fx loop (at the end of the chain) and wow, what a difference! I have the pedal volume on about 6 and there is no change in volume when the fx loop is on/off so I've hit the sweet spot where the volume is the same (turning the pedal volume up would really boost the signal - which I don't need).
      There is no noise whatsoever with my guitars with humbuckers when the pedal is on/off either. The pedal sounds great through the clean, crunch and lead channels. I can't be happier to be honest as I wasn't expecting it to sound so awesome.
      BUT...I have a guitar that has a split coil so plugged that in to test, split the coil and guess what - yep noise! Not that much more hiss than the actual single coil but slightly noticeable on the crunch and lead channels when the pedal is on (not a deal breaker though).
      So, my suggestion would be to use it at the end of the fx loop if you have one and maybe think about getting noiseless single coils if you don't use humbuckers. Or...maybe your pedal is defective?
      Good luck.

      @@meagainokay7673 Good info, but putting it in your signal chain before the amp input would have been additional good info too.

      That's a shame.. does it hiss by itself or on a pedalboard?

      Ryan Lutton ive never tried it without my other pedals but i have an iso power so i didnt think it would matter

      It might react exactly the same on its own but I always like to check :) that way if you know it's fine you can sell it and find an EQ better suited to what you need. I've sold a lot of pedals in the past and a fair amount of people will return them saying they're broken (make odd noises, hiss loudly or refuse to do anything) and I don't think one of them has actually been broken 😂

      yes I'd imagine so, I use various instruments with guitar pedals and i've not had a problem :)
