I remember listening to these guys back in high school when I was an angry skate punk... now I'm just an angry punk (too many back problems for skating anymore)... kicks ass... under-rated band from mid 80's... the BEST time for US punk/hc!
N.O.T.A. didn't get enough respect back in the day when I was in the scene. One of the best hardcore bands though. Played these guys a lot at my half-pipe in SoCal.
All of this band's material seriously needs to be reissued!
I've got a bootleg CD of this and the EPS silver disc not cdr. Plus I have this album love it
Bought this album in 85! Best thing to come out of the great plains states ever! I've sinceoved from SoCal to a city just outside Tulsa, and I can totally identify with their lyrics now.
It's awesome 😎
Welcome to OK 😆🤷♂️⛈️🌪💙
Big respect to all the NOTA crew and original Tulsa Bootboys! "Fuck with us!"
N.O.T.A. or None Of The Above are one of the best Hardcore bands from the 80's. Their classic album; N.O.T.A. released in 1985 on Rabid Cat Records is about as good as it gets. Once you hear it, you will not be able to stop playing it. The LP is a juggernaut. It is one of the best Hardcore records ever.
The Moscow ep and Toy Soldiers ep are also great records
@@migspit I could not agree more migspit. As you know, both preceded the debut album and both are essential Hardcore. They perfected everything for N.O.T.A. But you absolutely have to have all three.
@@RaymondGinn1978 Yes Christopher K, very hard album to find. You must have quite a collection. Those 7"" nuggets are also very obscure. What a phenomenal band!!
@@yokerecords803 oldschool 80's punk drummer here , love this 1000% n rare comps on cd too , i still send out money orders for cds here , thanks > tom !
@@tomquirin4231 Awesome Tom! I'm sure you are a great drummer. My bands, from 1979, can be heard on my site; Yoke Records. My drummer, Ha was so instrumental to our vibe. Give us a listen.
Still one of THE best American HC punk records ever ...EVER
another gem that wasnt mentioned in American hardcore
They are in the book. Don't know about the film.
I literally just learned about these guys after clicking on the video. I'm glad I did.
They were on the map that shows the bands location. Like Showing Poison Idea's Logo in Oregon and Dead Kennedys in San Francisco. In the scene there was a tiny NOTA logo in Oklahoma.
@@fullofcool They were one of Tulsa's very best of the time. Followed by Mid-Town Boot Boys and DuhZ's
@@tommyo9486 Sucks there's no better documentation of those smaller scenes with really underrated bands. Tulsa, Arizona and Tennessee come to mind. But there's many more.
Dude you can't fuck with N.O.T.A.!!! Old skool hardcore at it's best!! Glad to see over 10k views :)
Just out of the fucking BLUE this album lands back into my lap after 30+ years. And it stills holds true. THEY ARE ABOUT TO TAKE AWAY EVERY RIGHT WE HAVE !!
ALL HAIL THE CHUMP !!
I might have been one of the guys in the pit that night. Crystal Pistol was 6 blocks from my moms house and I almost never missed Wednesday punk night. Didn't think anyone else had heard of them till I found them online a few years ago.I kinda think of them as my personal band but glad to share with a new generation that considers "The Chainsmokers" edgy. 1985 wasn't all "Tears for fears."
Always wanted to go to Crystal Pistol. Fuck. Haven't (heard) that name since Crossroads was destroyed.
What night? It's a studio album right?
Crystal Pistol was the shit. Also 424
I first heard them about a year after this came out, and 30+ years later, still one of my top 5 favorite HC bands. I've even got the "Crystal Pistol" cassette still. They were flawless. Fast, amazing riffs/hooks, urgent, every song memorable and distinct.
I wished the recordings on the pistol album were played at this speed .stupid whore ex stole my toy soldiers ,and necros conquest for death 7" shirt among other punk rock shit , and I probably wouldn't be as mad if she actually listened to hardcore and loved it as much as me ,moral of the story - DON'T DATE A POSER hahahahh
Hey NOTA i love your music and vocals....very great.
Best punk band ever, some of the best shows ever.
One of the greatest hardcore bands ever! And they didn't come from one of the coasts; they came from Oklahoma!
Living 3 hours north east of Tulsa we have had some of the best hardcore ever produced but due to our area few (if any) got recorded; Rising Sun, Now or Never, Force Fed Patriots, Juxtaposition (my band), Hate is Enough, Anorexic Sacrifice, Bread Stick Fetish, and I'm sure dozens of others I can't remember 30 years on.
No coast hardcore rules
Brown 25!!!!
Thanx Zigi. Always looking for great overlooked midwest punk..playing .anorexic sacrifices 45 is something of legend among me an my drinking mates....so over the top!
Peace an Shove,
R0gra4
@@rogra2087 if. You want some old-school hardcore at its best try checking out Matts old and i think first band blind approach from st. Paul Minnesota matts now in California raising his family you might know him from Agnostic Front Mad ball ect
@@rustyvonhammerdown9054 I remember Brown 25! We're not tawkin' Kentucky Fried Movie, either!
On the Pavement....this needs a proper re-release. I 'd luv an actual lp...used to have a blue one. tanx for the posting !
nah man the sound quality is critical to these bands sounds.
As a 14 year-old kid when this first came out, thought Sick Society chorus was "chicken fried egg". Taped from the album, too fucking poor to buy it, didn't have the tracklist to give me a clue. Been to plenty of NOTA shows until the Crossroads on 15th St was destroyed on New Years 1985 and there were no places for NOTA to play anymore (the previous show was Black Flag December 6, 1984 when Henry still had long hair and the show was cut short due to violence). Went to the New Year after party after the NOTA New Year show where the house wound up being demolished later on resulting from the destruction continuing from what closed Crossroads. Still just a 14 year old kid. I was fucking there. And the police brutality in Tulsa, false arresting, planting evidence, profiling bullshit let to me LEAVING and why I will NEVER come back.
Dayum. I Never heard of them before, until yesterday when I was on my to work. Just browsing through youtube and then this caught my eye. Hell yeah, good shit!
+Isaac Pérez poor boy. time to catch up.
Same here. Better late than never right?
that's awesome. you can hear the crackling of the record. this is recorded directly from an old LP. epic
My brother’s band (the bass player, Bruce). I’m obviously biased but they fuckin’ ripped. Right up there with the best 80s Hardcore.
N.O.T.A is the best thing that happened to punk/hardcore. Nothing can be compare to this. AMAZING !!!
700 club
?
helio1055 where ?
Koro - 700 Club. Up there with NOTA
Yeah, for real - Koro was a really great hardcore band. Out of Knoxville, right?
The Best Band I’ve ever seen live, they sounded just like they do on Vinyl. When they started playing their set at the Mab in San Francisco everyone stopped doing what they were doing and started watching the show, never seen the whole crowd at a show stop what they were doing to watch these guys go. All I can say is wow they killed it that night in 1985 or 86.
this is a fkn gem💎thanks for sharing
ALways dug these guys bigtime!! Never saw 'em, wish I did.
I'm lucky to have the original record, but I'll definitely buy it if it's reissued on a CD.
One of the best USHC!
really underrated Band. Great stuff all killers no fillers
Perfect Hardcore !!! greetings from Germany
we need this now
Great album! Underrated band
Wish N.O.T.A. was playing on that stage in Tulsa instead of Officer Big Mac. This album is too fucking relevant almost 40 years later. Punk rock was the best school I ever attended.
I fist heard this album growing up in Spain, my mate bought it back from Barcelona, this was 1991. I still love it ❤
This album is actually compilation, all songs are written from 1979 to 1984..
But it's all recorded in 1985. so it's not a compilation.
Also compilations are various bands
Dronemf S.
Good to know. I never listened to this band before. I slept on them in the 80s. Good band, from what I hear. Weren they from OK or NB??
M. I.
Touche.
@@vadermasktruth ok all the way! They would frequently play the crystal pistol...an stuff...there's a live release. Check out the "way back" machine" and search out the Kill from the heart archive...which was and still is the best punk- resource.
Cheers from LA
I got this lp, with the blue cover from a buddy on my 21st birthday in '85. Don't think I'm up for much stage diving these days.
Very good...... Go for it !!! Greetings from Germany.
amazing record for its time
this is great
Good Stuff! Classic Hardcore!
when this dropped I wore the tape out great band
love this record
these guys are brilliant!
Still listening to it im 51
Every time when I listen to this album I get a little sad ....... WHY DIDN'T THEY RECORD MORE ALBUMS ....
Caught them a few times at the Pistol. Such good times. The skate scene and HC scene were so good back then.
Tulsa for life homes
I wish I still their LP put out by Rabid Cat in late 1985 I think? Also The Offenders on the same label.
Great album, these guy's were wicked to skate to!! And this is not a comp more a greatest hits
Jaysun Puke skate music,and beyond!
John Pope skate punk is still my fav!!! Check out Social Antidote- I still skate. Friends of mine and a great skate punk song for sure!
Awesome band
Fucking None Of The Above, this band shreds!
War on wankers may be the greatest song ever written.

20)freeze-land of the lost
19)dayglo abortions- feed us a fetus

This is killer, but my favorite all time release by this band is the classic demo Live At The Crystal Pistol, which was available on cd some years back but unsure if still in print.
was listening to my hardcore collection on cassette from 80s/90s , I have one of the best punk / hardcore/metal collections in the world IMO.. My band Stiff Kitty is on here, from 1988.. I am drummer
I have this with the blue background and white NOTA arrow crossed out, pretty worn out i might add
Someone made me a copy of this group and used to blast this shit out at the skate park back east!
man, this is hardcore :)
I think I own everything they ever recorded. Toy Soldiers will always be my favorite though.
Holy shit this is hard core hell yeahh
Overlooked far to often. And they worked fucking hard and often to be as great as this. 100 bucks says they all worked full time jobs while writing this much music to fill a whole album.
damn this is good
Still undisputed.
Sick
Good band
Killer stuff
My cousins husband is in this band.
Yeahhhh
Great band they kinda always reminded me of the offenders from texas
Tulsa's only real treasure, well them and the Golden Driller is kinda cool too
Hey man, I think NOTA should stage a reunion at The Gathering Place, ha
Best idea ever.
I have the pleasure of knowing these guys....checkout oil capital underground it's a doc.
to jebote! ^^
badass. loved this band too. modern music is shit compared to this. fuck society
