When you turned up to a rave and nobody wanted to look good for a social network but to look good for the moment, dancing with each other all night / day until the police showed up to shut it down.

@ncshuriken A lot of it's to do with a reliance on drum vsts and drum machines, as opposed to the sampled soulful jazz funk breaks which drove wonderful tracks like this. You start with a beautiful break and it's going to make you think and create more; start with some techstep beat and you're bound to produce something utterly souless.
@hombrerelents thats a good point mate, I love dizzy breaks, whether its amens or some obscure drum loop, it always sounds better than individual drum hits that just dont flow like a loop. peace
Yea it went in a dodgy direction, esoecially with what gets passed as DnB or Jungle nowadays, but even some of the old ruffneck jungle was sick at times, but never been into ragga jungle. Bukem and similar artists paved the way for me man, still love all those vibes. Play them on my phone while walking to wherever, better than playing some grime or niche like most people do on their phones.
Drum and Bass has existed as long as jungle, one man's jungle is anothers DnB. Unfortunately a few people who were net there, just read the book got the T shirt, think they know history. You don't think we went into a record shop and asked for Bukem,Basement Phil or Neil Trix describing it as jungle. They would have just played a load of jump up.
