- Five mile railcar adventure through the city of Rialto, California, United States of America along the tracks that once ran the trams of the extensive line of the Pacific Electric Railway Company created in 1901, nicknamed Red Cars, it was a system privately owned mass transportation system in Southern California that consisted of streetcars, intercity cars, and electric buses and was the largest electric railway system in the world in the 1920s. Organized around the city centers of Los Angeles and San Bernardino, connected cities in Los Angeles County, Orange County, San Bernardino County, and Riverside County. There is a lot of information on the internet for rail lovers. who want to know more about the Pacific Electric Railway. lately these few miles of rails were used by SP. UP. to supply a sawmill that was located between Lilac Ave and Willow Ave streets, not long ago it was completely closed and a warehouse or another factory is being built, and I believe that these roads were also the only witnesses who saw their trams pass by. They are going to remove them
This used to be a part of the electric streetcar network across Los Angeles/Long Beach/Orange County designed to take people from the suburbs to downtown/industrial areas for work. (Real Estate developers ensured their new housing developments were connected to the network). It even had it's own bus line for "last mile" or rural transportation. It was featured in the movie "Who framed Roger Rabbit?" with the famous line "Nobody's gonna drive this lousy freeway when they can take the Red Car for a nickel". The auto industry heavily lobbied to convert railcar expansion projects into the freeway system that we know & love today.
Thanks for that info, very interesting
Informative!
I love these videos, they're somewhat terapeutical and calming even though *sometimes* there's too much honking and laughing that keeps me from enjoying the track and engine noise. However it is saddening to see so many abandoned train tracks everywhere.
IF you ever decide to do tours for $, sign me up.
I love you guys, feel like I am there with you both
😂😂😂😂🎉😊
I used to work the job that serviced orange county lumber in 2018. didnt know it got removed and this line abandoned until this video. sad!
Love THIS channel you just feel like your on the cart with them👍😊.
Glad you enjoy it!
I could recognize your laugh from a line up of laughter....
Nice to see these rails rode one last time before being torn up. Something relaxing about the steady ride seeing LA like this. At least this video will be an archive of what the rail use to look like before it's paved over.
fantastic video guys! When I was very little, my mom would take me from Redlands (the terminal station) and we would ride "the big Red Cars " from Redlands all the way to central station in Los Angeles. We would eat lunch at Phillipes........
These guys are just living their best lives.
My new favorite channel ❤️
very nice! there are some old pacific electric/unused Union Pacific lines near where i live; do want to make a cart like yours one day.
So fun. I'm laughing with Zorrito. The cart is having fun too.
Hi 👋
Another great video, curious if you’ve ever thought about mounting a orange flag on the back for better visibility ( like one on the sand rails or dune buggies )when you having to cross intersection?
I agree, and maybe reflective clothing too.
Imagine getting rid of free infrastructure. I don’t understand this government
Why not spend much less money on restoring the Pacific Electric and its existing stations for the 2028 Olympics now? 😡 It took over 20 years to build a new metro system and stations. People could have been using the Pacific Electric for YEARS in the meantime.
Nahh this is better. Maybe they are going to connect the multi use path to the rancho cucamonga metrolink station where the Bright line west bullet train.
We could go that far. If you can see the roads connect with an active UP road. pacific union
Hi, I was not aware the PER had tracks out this far. Thanks for an interesting and informative video.
The PE ran as far east as Highland and Redlands.
In Poland, scrap metal scrappers would have stolen the tracks a long time ago
I think a classic “go cart” little tube framed chassis and overhear structure with a windshield, storage and lights would be beneficial. Add a trailer too! Either way epic! Love your videos
these videos are so chill, thanks
Love the trip down old Rails here in the north east USA the rails have been mostly took up you might get 5 maybe 8 of good track miles to travel 😢and CC would be nice can't understand Spanish sorry I'm pretty sure that is what you are talking
Hello, I know there are many abandoned roads in Northern California. I'm going to go tour them, the video has English subtitles. I don't speak the language very well but I do the best I can. Thanks for the information
Cuidate loco
Hola!!! Mándame saludos a tu papa che . Decile que me llame
Very cool fellas
Hi David
Cool. Even a MOW vehicle on the siding.
Hi Ray 😮
As I read your description, I wondered why the tracks are in such good condition. Recent customer was on the line. Very nice - glad you got this before they remove the tracks.
With that accent I hear an Argentina 🇦🇷 feel💪🏻💯
I love your videos ! Greetings from Austria ❤
Gracias
Ok guys have a good travel and take care right??see you soon another video.😂😅👍👏👏👏👏👏
Another brilliant video!
Thanks again!
You should have been at ocatillo this weekend we had a 3 cart meet by the bridge
I missed it. I was going to go this Saturday the 27th but since I saw in the forecast that there were going to be strong winds I decided not to go. 5 years ago you could travel from fw 8 to tunnel 16, now it has fallen bridges and collapses, a shame. I decided to go out and explore many abandoned lines in Arizona. I'll be uploading the videos. a hug
Excelente!!
Uncle, I like the video greetings from the Asian part of Indonesia
Gracias !!! Y saludos desde California
Did you have to turn around because you were about to go on an active track?
Yes ! Correct !
Rialto Station (aka the old Cuca's Restaurant building). I hope they leave the tracks on that stretch instead of turning it into a bike trail (like they did with the rest of the line).
It's going to be a rail trail. Rialto has been trying for years to get rid of the tracks and finish the PE Trail through the city.
Greetings from England. This is great.
Part of it Is still in use for a lumber company
As. ar.
Saludos desde San Bernardino california

Hi Scott 👋
Thank you, I will
People in those houses are probably like WTF was that
#ATrain?
😅😅😅oooh !!! Yes!!!😅😅
Riding a gas powered cart on Pacific Electric tracks 😎
hahahahah
This is the old Pacific Electric line that used to run from San Bernardino to downtown Los Angeles. In someplaces it was double tracked, which is why there's a lot of empty land on one side of the track. Retrograde civilization; something valuable is lost forever.
Esto es súper relajante
Saludos del Brasil.
Gracias .saludos desde California
HES GOT NITROUS! 😂 sick air tank man!
Yes. Nitrogeno for air hon
Great videos! (Train horn for road crossings is "two long' one short, one long" timed so the last one is when the train actually crosses the road.) Jes' sayin. 😬

Afuante Argentina papa!
Anyone know when they are going to extend the Pacific electric multiuse path to pepper ave?
Also it would be nice if they kept in the rail and put the path on the side of the rail. But i dont think there is enough space
wow very creative
I have to ask: is this eastbound or westbound? And you two guys sound like you're having a great time!!!
I guess it's mandatory to cackle whenever you reach a junction.
Dudee I just realized we live like literally a block away I’m not even joking about that
I don't understand really any of the lingo, however Police did stand out!
It looks like the wheels are made from automobile brake rotors. Is that correct?
