Great list Jim! The 70s was a particularly impressionable decade, as far cinema goes, for me also. I was surprised that you didn’t include Taking of Pelham 123 after you rated so highly in your 1974 spotlight! Its been a big favourite of mine since first seeing it in the theatre.
I'm amazed that I have 15 of these movies in my library. The ones that surprise me are Silent Partner, The Boys of Company C and Capricorn One. Now you need The Car and Wizards.
It's kind of weird when someone asks for a thumbs up before we've seen the video. Is it me? Nice bed cover. Excellent collection. So many missed... -Mash -Harold and Maude -The Godfather and ll -Silent Running -The Conversation -Annie Hall -Flesh Gordon.... Peace on earth.
Great list, I would’ve included a couple of those but I don’t have them on Blu-ray and I’m only concentrating on the ones that I do. Thanks so much for watching and sharing.👍
Great list! I matched 10 of your movies on my video. The Spy Who Loved Me is my favorite Roger Moore Bond film as well and it’s only second to Goldfinger for me.
All the best movies I've seen from the 70's are horror films. But, the best non-horror movies I've seen so far (and I have a ton of blind spots) are (in no specific order): _Pink Flamingos_ _The Rocky Horror Picture Show_ _The Poseidon Adventure_ _The Devils_ _Tommy_ _Tess_ _Annie Hall_ (lots of movies of People's Names) _Duel_ _The Tenant_ _Eraserhead_ _Interiors_ _Death Race 2000_ _The Long Goodbye_ _Five Easy Pieces_ _Monty Pyton and the Holy Grail_ _Deliverance_ I think _Jaws_ is good but overrated. Joe Dante's _Piranha_ was better. Actual roles for women, real horror music score, GORGEOUS underwater scene at that refinery. Smarter / more clever. Less drama centered around sad Father Figure whiny stuff. Dick Miller is way more fun even in his smaller role than Quint was. More interesting tone / mood to the film. More satisfying.
@@jimtatro6550 Yeah. And I already said _Jaws_ is good. But I'm a horror fan. I need horror, not Soggy Dad Drama. _Jaws_ is about a Dad's mopey "protect my family and community" gig. The characters are not interesting after that. None of them. We already got way better Family Drama in _The Exorcist_ and _Poltergeist_ and those films were a lot more eerie. They had The Horror MOOD. _Jaws_ has The Drama Mood because it's a drama with a few violent moments, a teeny tiny bit of gore, and like 60 seconds of music that felt like a horror movie. _Piranha_ has Pino Donaggio doing the music score from _Carrie_ and _The Howling,_ it has Barbara Steele from the old Hammer horror films, it has (I think his name is) Kevin McCarthy from the original _Invasion of the Body Snatchers,_ it - and this cannot be overlooked or handwaved away - has Actual Roles for Women, it has everything else I said in the last comment... And it has The Horror Mood. _Jaws_ doesn't satisfy me as a horror fan. I watch it when I'm not in a horror mood. _Piranha_ is more fun and gives me what I'm looking for. So much better than people give it credit for.
@@fluorescentmilkshake again, I totally appreciate your opinions and as I said, this is strictly based on personal preference as are the films on yours. Pelham 123 would be in the top 40 for sure, it was very difficult to pare down the list to only 25. Thanks for watching.🤘🏻
Awesome list! I'm missing quite of a few

Hi Jim I've tried watching Dawn Of The Dead twice now. I just cant get into it unfortunately. Zombie films aren't for me. Jaws is a good choice.
I understand, Dawn isn’t for everyone but to me it’s a masterpiece of not only horror, but as a satire about consumerism in America.
