you've got more than enough to make the duckbill attachment . you got some good stuff. i got to go to a nearby scrapyard and hunt and pick what i'll need. gonna see if i can swap out and balance my truck tires
I try to hold on to everything
Cold tires are always more difficult to pull off and mount. Trick I use for doing tires in the winter is once the bead is broken loose I put an old hair dryer just inside the tire and let it run for 5 min or more...once it's warmed up a bit those tires will go on/off a lot better.
Good ideal I've sit then in front of a heater before
I wish I would have seen this years ago. There's a certain technique with these things you need to learn and I always struggle with the first tire or two until I get the hang of it again.
I put female concrete inserts in my floor so I can bolt it down temporarily, then put Allen set screws in the holes so they don't get filled up with junk.
I thought the welds looked pretty good, at least they're better than mine.
I welded a piece of plate between the two legs of the bead breaker, since it was flopping over on lower profile tires.
I also drilled a hole for a wheel stud when that little locater dowel broke off.
I appreciate the effort and experimentation. More people need to think about using what they already have. I always hit the back button when they give bill of materials that add up to more than what it would cost to buy something.
I love to build stuff from what I have laying around
Good job for not buying any parts but the only thing is you got your duck bill upside down
I give you a “10” for your effort that’s for sure- like others have said you are fighting the tool. If I was you- I would now make a hitch mount and hook it to your tractor- if it was more stable on the base it would work better for you!! I’m a 60 year old woman and hook mine to my truck have changed many tires. Good luck 👍🏻
Yes I'm going hook it
To the tractor pallet forks that will be easy to use and I can slide it
On and off might even be better than mounting it to the floor
@@85beeper have to work “smarter” not “harder” keep up the good work 😉
Yes I agree I saw one built out of a car transmission and rearend and a drill for motor he spoke no English but give me good ideal I thank I might try to do that for my next build giving I have a junkyard with lots of parts available
You are reading my mind on the trailer hitch mount! My HB full size wheel remover tool is in the mail:)
My tire shop is 15 minutes out. If i can avoid a dop off/pickup, or waiting for a spendy 3 hr wait.
Tire shops are picky w dates on remouts. Too, if i can expand my opportunities on used tires i can buy better tires. Or cheaper points. Ie... buy checy tires on ford wheels.
I'm taking the gamble
Kammy is CORRECT......USE our brains, not the brawn some of us are lacking.....( also, eat foods from '' SPADE TO SPOON "" for a very good quality of life.....)
Get some pool acid. Dip galvanized parts in the acid*****DO NOT BREATH FUMES******. Then rinse with water. It strips galvanize coating. Take a couple of hole saws and make a “washer” out of blue poly barrels for under pipe that goes against rim.,
Thinks for info
Got yourself a great workspace there mate 👍🏻
Yes I love it it's only a 3 bay wish it was bigger thanking about turning the barn into a shop lol I went from a little dirt floor boxed in she'd to this one and I seem to still not have enough room lol
@@85beeper Can't have enough space for your bits and pieces, it's all about finding smart solution imo👍🏻
Go other direction! Get tire lube as it’s cheap…. Otherwise, mix body soap and water ( it contains oil in it) I went same fabrication you did… but used different duck bill. You did great though..👍
Yes I guess I must have been doing it wrong lol fighting my self lol I up graded to a really old mays Machine it not good on good wheels scratches them but way waster than this I did how ever keep this to use if I have to change one on a good wheel I really just like to build things to see if I can sometimes and share it with yt world thanks for the comment and for watching subscribe if u would and check out my other videos
hes going the right way the movie is playing the wrong way lookat the buttons on his jacket on the wrong side
Nice job buddy
you did a good job tks
Line the pipe with a square piece of plastic from an antifreeze jug rolled up.
I'll definitely try this ty
You have the right idea just use some soapy water
Yes I didn't have any I was at the new place we was remodeling and had no soap or water that night I was just bored and wanted to give it a try and thought is share with you tube world
Good job ; NO $ spent. Perhaps, consider having a more secure, solid heavy base. Use a couple of 3 foot railway rails, in a V or 90 degree formation. IT won't move anywhere. Weld the ends together ; or use a really heavy duty hinge. Or, male pins into 2 sections of about 6 inch high pipes, on the ends of rails - for assembly / dis -assembly. I am in process, of making tire machine as well. Using about a 16 inch farm disc, from a discer ; those round cone shaped things, as a tire/wheel base, on the vertical upright. My 16 inch rims, fit perfectly in the disc. Only have to weld 2 bolt studs, to the disc, pointing up, to bolt the wheel/rim to the disc. Then, gotta make the arm/ bracket for Mr Duckbill.....Anyway, thanks for not spending money......USE it, or loose it = the stuff most shop/garage guys collect. (from east central Alberta)
I try to do it cheep to free I hate a video days diy then they have a ⁵k tool to make it
Tire soap would help…..
That old tire makes things worse…
You need a vice grip or something to keep the tire from slipping…
A better base would help loads….
Keep on keeping on bro…..
Soap would have helped just didn't have any that night and was excited to try it out
It's cool man.🗨️😎👍
Thanks
Thank you I like your video
Very welcome I like to try to make things from the stuff I have laying around not everyone has the ability to go to a shop and buy metal so I refurbished everything I can
Feel free to subscribe for more diy stuff
Jajaja gracias por hacerme reír
botl it down and use a mutch longer bar
Ya this was just a first attempt
Hope those pores are open and working.
Wide open soaking up all the grease
You are definitely fighting your tool. A solid mount will take out 3/4s of your struggle and LUBE LUBE LUBE will remove the rest. You have all the necessary tooling for your set up except for a longer bead tool.
I have several other bars it definitely needs mounted and I need to get a center cone I have noticed on the bigger truck wheels with big center hole it's hard to keep even and it wants to bite I. To wheel if it's not just right
@@85beeper sixty five Ford has several videos on this changer. He has perfected using it over the years. He has perfected a duck bill mounting bar Which I plan to mimic and use with my changer.
Ty I'll definitely check him out
Are you turning the duckbil the right way? I thought that it was designed to travel anticlockwise for both mount and dismount operations?
@@paulgradwell2246 yes im turning it right it works better as i got use to it but i got lucky and picked up a old mays meashean i got couple videos on it thanking about trying mount this on the old mays
Horrible welding job. You're also making it far more work/efforts than need be.
Well they might not be pretty but they hold and im not sure how easy it is for u but this thing was a work out
Man you talk tooooo much, I’m moving on!!
Keep going my friend definitely not trying to force u to watch them I hate the videos where no one talks so I like to talk if u don't make one u don't talk in ill say u didn't talk enough lol
