    I loved living in Granada, Nicaragua for 2 months in a local family’s home 1 block from the Cathedral in Centro. Colonial beauty and charm and so many colorful buildings. Leon which I lived in first for a month was rundown, dirty and very ghetto. What a contrast.

    • @VagabondAwake

      I prefer living in Granada or San Juan del Sur, but I found the people to be lovely all over Nicaragua, even in Leon.

      I hate Leon. I was born in Nicaragua but have only visited it a few times. Supposedly there’s two Leon’s. An old and a new. They try to keep the city looking as rustic as possible.

    I enjoyed seeing more of Nicaragua through your lens. My sister lived there for a while, she really loved the life-style and people, she specifically lived in Granada for about 4 months and before that she traveled to Leon and some other more remote areas with a medical unit Doctors without borders. She also lived in a small village with a lady she met online who really showed her the Life of an average family .. She was a "foodie" and the food really made her happy! SO many fresh veggies and fruits I am curious what month/year you were there????? How was the "unrest" with political scene? My sister left just prior to a huge student protest that cost loss of life. What ever you can share is helpful... thank you for doing the possible cost-of-living. I do understand there are many different levels for where and how a person chooses to live.

    • @VagabondAwake
      @VagabondAwake  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hey Glenn R, thanks for the great question. Our reports are for people that are thinking of retiring cheap in paradise.
      That means long-term rather than passing through town. Most places outside the USA will come with at least some furniture, but saying unfurnished reminds people why the number is lower than a 30 day rental--because they are leasing for 6 months or 1 year. Thanks for commenting. TH-cam shows our videos to more people when they get more comments. So your comment is like you are giving us a pay raise. So, thank you! Dan

    What do you think the typical people there think about Americans considering the conflict between the two governments?

      All we saw were smiles. People are not their government. :-) Your smile will be your secret weapon all over the world. Conflict arises when people get hardened faces. I greet everyone with a hello and a smile. It is not fake after you do it for more than 30 days. And the great part is, it makes you feel good inside and it makes them feel good inside.

      Nicaraguans are very warm and welcoming folks. Super humble and they’re used to foreigners :)

    How much did you pay for your stay? You've mentioned the 350usd per month as a suggestion but not how much you actually pay there for your short stay. Please share it as some of us just want a short stay.

      @@VagabondAwake I did click on your link. That's why I was asking how much you've paid for your short term rent.
