Hey everybody. Just to reassure anyone who wondered if this upload was with my permission or not, it was. I licensed this episode out to We Are Railfans and the Kent & East Sussex Railway earlier this year for the We Are Railfans Virtual Festival 2021. Thank you for looking out for me, though. Please remain vigilant if any piracy DOES happen
thanks for the notification, when I first saw it I was worried that I'd run across another pirated video of yours, glad to see your partly behind this one instead
Terriers are great. They're small, perfectly proportioned, easy to maintain, fairly powerful, and very customisable in terms of livery and design. I love seeing the original A1 in either Improved Engine Green or the even better Marsh Umber. I would love to see one repainted into LSWR green.
3:04 This Famous LBSCR Terrier Class Tank Engine Fenchurch Along With Stepney From Thomas The Tank Engine And Friends The Original Series Are Now Preserved On The Bluebell Railway In East Sussex Near Brighton In England In The United Kingdom. Thanks Mate. PS I've Been On This Famous Line The Bluebell Railway In East Sussex Last Year Back In December 2022 For The Santa Specials And It Was Super Awesome. X
This is why Stepney is one of my favourite characters in the Thomas franchise. I would love to see him return in the revival era and to see him bring more attention to railway preservation.
Thanks for highlighting the unsung locos of the early days of steam. Keep up the good work, an old Cardiff Canton boyo in Australia appreciates your input.
Co-evolved with the "F" that achieved a similar TE on the narrow-gauge for 20 tons in working order. Trundle along at a good clip, prodigious pullers, climb like a cat.
Personally I prefer The Lone Ranger Chris. The film is super underrated; it's really good in spite of how badly it flopped and how people seemingly had it in before it even released. The train climax is phoenominal and my vote for the best train chase in cinema.
We can cross our fingers that the new-build H2 will eventually get painted in the livery. It’s going to be in BR Black when finished, but knowing the Bluebell I’d be shocked if it gets kept in that livery.
Disclaimer: Clueless Yankee here. The space constraints and the rising issue of coal supply made me think: Is there any serious discussion of converting preserved locos to oil firing?
I’m from your part of the world, but I know more about British locos tan American locos 😂. Basically over the UK, coal is used still in preservation because on the railways over there steam locomotives never burned oil, making oil burning unauthentic, plus welsh coal is available over there, and it burns really well, and is easy to find.
@@modelrailfan37 Oh definitely, it mainly came to mind because I've been watching the Talyllyn's struggles with keeping a consistent source of coal now that their welsh supplier is closing down
@@valritz1489 ya for sure, and sorry, I only realized now that you wrote that comment a year ago… It would make sense to an extent though if the railways did switch to oil, though I think it will be a long time before we see that in the UK
The NYMR are converting a small number of locos to oil burners. The one caveat being that (as far as I'm aware) they're only converting locos of classes that had some oil burners (e.g they're doing an S160 ) to maintain authenticity
The NSWGR for a long time copied a lot of British steam locomotive designs, But over time they started copying the Americans, and in the 1950s they bought 20 mikado type steam locomotives from Baldwin .

Oh, that’s a relief!
Well.. "any piracy happens"
Since MP4 converters exist, yeah, it's gonna come at some point..
Aight, thanks for the clarification, this had me sweating a little
Good, that means I can watch this with a clean conscience!

Here we are in 2024 and the America trip actually got to happen.

This video seems to have been made in collaboration with E-G Media, so I believe the channel has the permission to upload this episode.

Love these vids. This guy really should be on TV presenting , he makes the subject really interesting . Love it
Terrier firebox doors are so low I almost wonder if a few poor firemen didn't make specialized rakes for moving coal from the bunker to the firebox

I just love these things. Look at them, Listen to them! Plucky little chaps.
Lovely episode Chris! Hadn't seen this one before.
Cool series!

Ten of fifty preserved tat ain't bad

Hey, you should make it clearer in the description that this is a collaboration. :)
Not all of us will reach out and ask for ourselves :D
it literally says in the description
I ha e ten models of them I love them
I miss Terriers being in Marsh Umber so much. It’s a really lovely livery but there’s currently no locos wearing it.

I would love to see the steam trains of Germany and Poland. I guess that's next because I've been on several French railways now. ;)
boxhill has to be the weirdest of the bunch as it was converted to a 2-4-0 for a period of time
I am a terrier!
Indeed you are.
I’ve been here.
May i ask did the terrier brighton works survive?

I have a feeling the mere proposal could get you killed

I genuinely hope he can come over here to the states. He'd probably shit a brick the first time he sees big boy or 844
He is making a fundraiser for his "Steam Locos In Profile in USA" documentary and he is gonna document the Big Boys
@@TankEngine75 damn.. I wish I could donate, one of the surviving 8 big boys is here in Texas.
Did you get permission to upload this?
I asked and it is official, they should have better noted it in the description.

Hey, you don't seem to have permission to upload this. Chris doesn't take too kindly to pirates.
oh dear lol...
I doubt your gonna read this 9 months later, but they do have permission to upload it.
You should take this down, unless you got permission to put it up.

@@BrokenIET Yeah I know, I've seen Chris's comment
can you not pirate videos
It's official, I asked them myself :) I thought it was piracy too... apparently there is a collab section at the end.
they didnt, can you not libel individuals and groups? maybe they should sue you...
@@andrewyoung749 They did. Its in the discrption and if you scroll up Chris himeslf said it is.
And tbh no one asked for your opinion, so shut up x
