Am I going to residency anytime soon? No. Did I still watch this video in its entirety? DUH!! You’re doing amazing Rachel!! I love watching your journey 🥹🩷
Hi Dr.Rachel! Hope you doing great Today I graduated from medical school ranking number 1 on my batch. It was definitely mentally and emotionally draining journey, I grew up to become a very different version of myself “in a good ways” med school was definitely more than knowledge, it made me thrive as a person. You and me started med school at the same year, yet it took me 5 years to graduate unlike you due to curriculum difference from the US. So all the way from the beginning till today you been a big part of my journey, seeing someone going through same struggles I go through helped me a lot to push through, you open up w us when you talk about difficulties you go through during studying or working or anything related to medicine and I’m telling you that really help us and i appreciate it. Now I’m looking forward for the future and ofc your vids will be a strong motivation so keep it up and I pray you achieve success.
I’m starting O&G training in the UK this year and I love watching your videos!! Really interesting to see what American residency is like within O&G. It’s been my dream career since the beginning of med school and I’d been living it vicariously through you (until now!) 😊
Love this video-so helpful! I have heard that the calzuro brand supports anti-choice organizations and that makes me not want to buy those shoes. Everything else will be added to my shopping list for sure!
Personally recommend something with urea in it for hand lotion if your skin is super dry! My hands were okay prior to rotations but they eventually got so dry that they would turn red after using hand sanitizers from the alcohol drying it out so my preceptor was like girl you need something with urea in your lotion 😂
I’m an IMG, what’s the best hospitals or clinics to apply for general surgeries or neurosurgery, I know it will extremely hard I have to do step 3 and high step2 scores and alot of research..
I’ve been looking at Calpak for a few months now for a new residency bag - would you definitely recommend a backpack over a tote? Part of me wants a tote but I’m thinking the backpack would be easier
I keep buying pens like that because they’re so cute and smooth but this is my second pack where the ink started skipping after a few days 😢 Do you have this problem as well?
@@ashleygrey7986 Haha Oh yea she stated that it was her preference. I commented on the fact that Androids also have smart watches that are compatible. So outside of a blue text bubble🤷, we are not missing out. Also, this isn't meant to be too serious. I'm sure both sides know deep down that both phones are perfectly capable of performing the necessary functions.
@@spiderbite9490 yes even 32 hours or more. In many surgery specialties you can easily work 32 hours in a row for one shift. If you make a mistake because you are tired you will still get blamed and shamed for being weak or inefficient
omg the point about iphones lmaooo. i was an android girly all my life and switched to an iphone like a year ago and honestly life changing -- could never go back.

I actually stopped wearing my Apple Watch during residency and my anxiety got so much better!
Crocs makes clogs that are a great cheaper alternative to Danskos!! As someone who only needs clogs on some rotations those are a good option!
I got my clogs from Amazon. Just a $25 off brand but they are SOOOO comfortable
Incoming PGY 1 here - thank you so much for this video and all your content!!! ❤❤❤
I'm obsessed with those pens because of you! Having a good pen is so important lol
Helpful as always! thank you so much doc :D

Perfect timing as I frantically browse Amazon, haha!
I'm starting clinical next week - would you recommend the same list for clinical rotations?
I bought Jaanuu scrubs bc of you! They're so comfy!
Any recommendations for obgyn books for residents ? Atlas of gynaecological surgeries ?

I really wonder if obgyn residency is this insane or is it all specialties.
Please I'm waiting for a new video of daily working , whatever I love you

Backpack is much more comfortable and better for your back!
Can you post a makeup tutorial?
Buying those pens! ;)
Hello SUNSHINE...Thank you for all you do 🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹
Well u look great!!!! Keep it up

I noticed that with a few but I found that if you try writing on other surfaces, the ink will flow again and be fixed!
@@RachelSouthard I’ll have to give that a try. Thanks so much!
Guuurrrll, Android is just as good as Apple haha. Its just a matter of preference. Very helpful video tho ❤
Haha I know. My mom has one 😂🙂↕️
lol We also have smart watches that can do the text and call function so not missing out there.

Did you use an iPad at all during residency?
No, I personally don’t!
72 hours in 7 days or 5 days (mon to fri) and what do you mean by 25 hours shift?
Residents typically work 6 days a week and can work over 24 hours in one shift/work day
@@quincyraven15 So without sleeping and no breaks??? 25 hours in a row? Sorry im not from america
@@spiderbite9490sometimes they get a break/a few breaks throughout their 24hr shift where they can go to a room and take a nap but it’s not guaranteed

Crocs are ugly, but easy on your feet for long periods of standing.
When will you finish your residency?
June 2027

Starting our equivalent of intern year next year🥹 thanks for the tips!
ELLO WATER BOTTLE TWINS 🕺🏼🕺🏼
Anytime i get an iphone, it somehow gets destroyed. 😂😭 i cannot be trusted with an iphone 😂😂
I don't like iPhones and they battery drain in the cold way faster than my Android.
not the android shade LMAO
android has phones just as fast and smart watches just as good
Love u. No hate lol
