I really hate people who think they’re too good for Planet Fitness. I told someone I work out at PF and they were like “eww” Like why? It’s cheap and its just like any other gym (and also everything is purple which is pretty to me haha) I love Planet Fitness💪🏻😊
I been going to pf for 9 mos already and I have made great strides. I see folks there with different health goals. Like they say to each his own. I'll continue to use pf, I get more than my $ worth.
Planet Fitness is not necessarily a bad gym. It is mainly the marketing that people dislike. The commercials stereotype people who are into fitness. Plus, Planet Fitness does not have heavy barbells that cater to those who enjoy lifting really heavy. However, if you want a simple workout that gets the job done, then Planet Fitness is totally fine.
You can work out anywhere and get the job done a park ,your house, any gym just make use of the machine and u can freestyle and do your own thing..planet fitness is cheap and good in my opinion
Guys, there is obviously NOTHING wrong with not knowing how to use a machine. You can always ask the person closest to you or just ask PF employees. I've taught several new people to the gym how to use machines.
Yo fr people at the g are nice this Spanish guy came to telling me how to work on a machine for the leg and he was super awesome really made me feel welcomed
To add to this, PF also has an app that has videos on how to use each machine as well, so you don't even have to interact with other people if you don't want lmao
Hey y’all! Never EVER be embarrassed to walk up to a staff member and ask how to use the machine properly. The way I think about it is this..”hey I’m paying for this and this is their job” 🤷🏾♀️ That thought eases my anxiety bc I don’t like wasting money
im watching this bc i went to the planet fitness today and spent half the time sitting onto a machine, spending 2 minutes trying to figure out how to use it, and then awkwardly walking away because i couldn't figure it out
I love watching your videos.I just started working out and have really bad social anxiety.Your videos are very helpful and make me feel comfortable at my gym
I've always felt kind of weird at the gym because I've seen too many videos of people videoing people at the gym that don't know what they're doing. Like what the heck, if you can take the time to video them doing something wrong then just help them...
Power through it, baby. You got this. And you're going to feel so much better and stronger, mind and body, for toughing it out. I wish I had done this when I was young.
My favorite part of this video is the last machine. The guy in the background starts pumping like crazy when he thinks the hot girl is looking his way and then goes back to just checking his phone when her back is turned and then tries to covertly pick his nose.
Here’s the thing. th-cam.com/users/postUgkxS7ex6L4sMqpaTn4LnBPyBmRQsSingL8y These are not meant to be stretched to 12ft or 14ft or whatever else where you’re a 6ft person, stepping in the band and trying to do standing shoulder presses. If they tear, (assuming they’re not defective) then you’re trying to stretch them way too far. For a full body stretch, bands should be like three feet long, doubled over. Don’t buy the bad press. A fully extended reverse fly is avoid as far as you should stretch these. If it’s too easy, use more than one band at a time. Not rocket science.
This video is a life saver. I was using the machine at time stamp 3:36 completely wrong. I’m sore because I was bending my elbows to pull the arms back. So many people walked past and workout around me yet no one attempted to tell me I was doing it wrong! All I can do is laugh now and do better tomorrow! Thanks!
The last machine you used is my favorite, once you know how to use it, it really works out your abs, but I’ve seen so many people be unable to move it or give up cuz they don’t like it. 10/10 recommend that machine
The key is to not push your back flat against the backrest, but have the tiniest arch to your back, shoulders back and your core tight and flexed, then lift your knees towards your chest rather than use your arms to pull the bars down. Try to keep your upper body mostly still, your core and legs should do all the movement. Similar to a reverse crunch you can do from lying on the floor, except you’re sitting upright on a machine. Its the opposite to the machine she used earlier with the elbow pads, in which you move your arms and upper body forward whilst keeping your legs still. They are the same exercise but focusing on different angles. Hence the padding placement is different on those two machines but the are essentially the same concept.
Thankful because I just signed up for PF and went for the first time last night and felt so dumb. I have a fear of basically just being around a lot of people lol but this helps!! At least I know how to work some machines!
Congrats girl!!🥳🥳 and same i really HATE being around ppl when im at the gym.. i like being alone... it’s peaceful and nobody is in your way🔥👏🏽 you got this! I know other people may feel dumb too. It’s not like we were born to know how to work gym machines😅 dont worry about it! Jst keep doing your research and you’re good to go💗
For the last one, it’s easier to do when you lower the seat. I’m short so I get why you put it all the way up but try it, with the seat slightly lower so that only a little bit of your back is on the top part of the machine.
I was so scared to use that last machine after watching this video I’ve avoided it for months. But I tried it today and I was so proud of myself I was able to do 10 reps at a time! You really gotta throw your legs into your chest I think is the key
That last ab machine works awesome. Yeah it’s hard but it develops some nice abs. The key is to keep going once you get the start. My trainer made me do it every single day we worked out together and I had some amazing abs under all my loose skin. Keep doing it. You won’t regret it.
I just tried that last machine this morning and I was like omg what am I doing wrong here this is so hard!! 😂 so that’s why I came to TH-cam to see how to work the machines at the gym and saw your video. It’s funny how you thought the same thing as me with that same machine. Definitely won’t try it again but will try the others you posted. Thanks for the informative video ❤
thank you. Today was my first day at the gym and I didn't know what machines to use or how to use them. Nobody helped me. I searched for videos and found your videos very complete. thank you very much.
So before I sign up for Planet Fitness I'm going through TH-cam vids to learn or get an idea how to use these machines since I'm a visual person. This really helps! Thanks! 👍🏻
Just started at PF three weeks ago -- thank you for this video. I didn't want to interrupt the folks in the 30 minute circuit area ,now I feel prepared !
That last machine is the absolute best along with the oblique machine. It’s difficult because you are activating lower and upper abdominals simultaneously. It’s worth putting in some time with it.
7:15 that machine is best for abs at PF. I keep the weight at 20lbs or lower. Do 3 sets of 10, one set with legs under the left side pad, one set with legs under both right and left side pad, then legs under the right side pad. Do that with the seat adjusted to its lowest setting, then middle setting, and highest setting.
Thank You! Some how I had missed those machines, and it's nice to see someone use them. They really should have better instructions on how to use the machines!
The second to last ab machine feels really good. I tried that for the first time last week and I feel it much more than the rope cable crunches. I also saw good results from my mid abs from using it last week.
Love these video lol it shows me im not the only one adjusting and looking at the picture during my sets. I watch videos of exercises whenever I change my routine so THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR TAKING THE TIME TO MAKE THIS VIDEO❤
That last machine I love…. I did feel awkward the first time I used it and I started with minimal weight but once I figured it out I love it and it my favorite!
You are so underrated :( I ran into you just today and have been binge watching thank you for all the information you’re giving out it was much needed ❤️
LOL!! Yeah, its not necessary if we dont like a certain equipment😂 There are other things we can use👏🏽👏🏽 but damn did you at least get a workout in?? Lol
Saavyy yes I did lol❤️❤️ that was towards the end of my workout so I was over it. Today I went to the one in the 30min area and the torso rotation. Thanks for your help✨✨
I think you for sharing how to work the Machines at planet fitness is because a lot of people go and we really don’t know what we’re doing in the gym so this is really nice of you to do that specially when you’re a beginner
Thank u so much, I was never good in Gym when I was school. I just turned 37 and I am trying to get in shape. Just joined Planet fitness 3 weeks ago. Got up early on Sunday and wanted to try some different machines since there was only 3 people in the Gym. Some Machines looked like something out of Star trek 🤣 At least next time watching u I will know what to do..lol
I joined Planet Fitness today with a family member. We go for orientation this week. Can't wait to get started working out. Really looking forward to it.
OMG when i first looked at the title of this video, I KNEW exactly which machine you were talking about!! yep i won't be using that one again either. it's just wayyy to hard and i thought at 1st that i had the weights set extremely hard or something as this huge muscleman just got finished using it ( & made it look easy af but nope idk what it is but there's no way i can do this workout machine. thanks for the instruction video. i am new to PF & unsure how to utilize these machines. thanks again
Thanks for the video! I just joined and some of the machines were intimidating 😆 I feel more confident now and I'm ready to go back for the second time today and try them all! 🥰🥰
When using the AB/Crunch Machine at the 7:32 mark try to engage your lower Abs also by pulling your knees up to meet your elbows as you are pulling your elbows down to your knees and contract your abs as hard as you can while exhaling into the contracted position. This is my favorite AB machine unfortunately not all Planet Fitness gyms have them.
Omg!!!! Ive been going for over a year and that last machine....but this past Thursday i did 30 on it and i was happy. I could not get that machine to work for me but i got it....finally!!!!
I couldn’t even get it to budge!! I said either I’m doing it wrong or I’m just really weak lol. This video and your comment made me so happy because I no longer feel discouraged! 😩😂
I am SO glad I found this , thank you for posting! I had no idea how to use those ABS machines and like another poster on here, you hate to stand there looking completely lost! LOL. I just joined PF a week ago. I have seen all these machines. Today I will be using a few now that I see how to do it!
Seeing all the comments of people not being able to use the last an machine gave me such comfort because SAME. 🙋🏻♀️. I didn’t leave until I figured it out but the embarrassment was still there. Finally today I will give it another try after the first try 2 months ago 😂
I just signed up for planet Fitness but I plan on starting in March 🤣 that's why I'm here lurking. I had a c section on my third child and I'm looking terrible my stomach did not go back to normal smh. But I'll do my best to get back in shape
Thank you for this! Really gonna help me out next ab day. Just started going to the gym and couldn't figure out 2 of these machines while there lol. I'm prepped next time! :D
Love ya girl 💕 Your videos help me out soooo much. Please do a week gym routine. Everything you do in a week. I’d like to know how you spread out your leg days, upper body and abs : )
I’m new to planet fitness so that’s why I’m on TH-cam, trying to find “How To Use Planet Fitness Equipment” .... lol. Thank you for this video. Do they offer classes on how to use the weight machines? I felt like a dummy when I was trying to figure out how to adjust the seat on their leg press machine, so I just went home.
Girl WithLuv Hello! I know this question wasn’t directed towards me, but each machine should have instructions on it. If those don’t help, I would suggest asking someone who works there for help. I hope this helps! Don’t be discouraged. Working out should be fun ♥️
Nina Ellis Thank you for your advice. I go around 4am because of work so there’s not to many people around. I tried a couple of weight machines and it wasn’t so bad
Girl WithLuv You’re welcome & I also go around that time due to work ! It’s empty af in my Planet Fitness (LI, NY) so if I mess up with anything or don’t understand, I would just try again. You got this! 💪🏼💪🏼
Thanks for making this! I just started at PF and I couldn't figure out one of these! I also couldn't find the yellow one, but now I know where to look!
The machine at 5:12 is the best machine out of all of them. The last one I can see how it works and it can be hard so I would say that one as second best. The rest of these machines your wasting your time. Take it from me I’ve tried all of them, and I’m a gym rat and have abs like crazy. I got my abs from doing regular crunches and set ups, leg raises but the 5:12 machine defined my abs, made my abs stronger and shredded.
i tried the last machine for the first time yesterday and was like nope not for me nope HAHA anyway thank you so much for your videos!! i signed up for planet fitness 4 weeks ago but have only been using the machines i know (it's not many tbh) but ur videos have been really helpful!! especially showing how to adjust the machines bc sometimes they just wont budge for me 😭 and since im relatively new to all this, seeing u show how to use the machines makes me less nervous about trying it myself! thank u :)
I tried one of those last ab machine you used . I liked it becouse I thought it worked out more muscles than just my abs. Im looking to join a gym again after not being to one in 5 years
I'm waiting for my PF to open. I'm so glad to see they have the very last machine that you used. You really will get the best results from it... and yes.... it's hard... lol
I did that abdominal crunch machine (last one) as well and so thankful I seen your video because I never knew those machines were in those two sections. That last machine is definitely had I did 50 reps with 10lbs it’s definitely hard I struggled doing 3reps a time until I got to a total of 50 reps but I also did t know I could adjust the seat.
So after working out at home for a year and walking. I decided it was time to join a gym. I use to go to a gym in the past frequently, but can I tell you I felt so lost when I went to Planet Fitness for the first time. I even said I would just end my membership. Then I decided since I research everything else on TH-cam, why not research how to use the machines at PF. Thanks for your video it was helpful
I love planet fitness. If you are unsure of a fitness plan or how to use the equipment, set up time for one of the personal trainers. You'll be glad you did
I think the last machine was hard because your upper back is pushing against/resisting the forward motion of the crunch. Try pivoting from the lower back/hips and don't let your upper back touch the upper back pad too much. Also grip the handles further to the front to get more leverage.
The last machine I wish my gyms in North Carolina had but they don’t. I want to try it. I see fitness connection has it. Some guys make it look easy but I’m sure the struggle is worth it those 10 reps are worth it
Omg I wished I saw this video before embarrassing myself🤣🤣. I also couldn't use that last machine I literally just walked away. Thank you your videos helped me alot!
Btw that first machine you used at the 30 minute express workout zone can also be found in the area where they have all the abs and stretching equipment ( In my planet fitness home gym anyway.)
they have a machine like the one at 8:11 at crunch and I did it all the time, no issue. I haven't tried the one at planet fitness, but maybe that specific variety just isn't designed very well.
i watch videos like these so i don’t go to the gym looking stupid trying to figure out how the machine works and still end up looking stupid 🤣
That's what I do too.
Angie Nwigwe same here 😂
Lol i bet u don’t!!!😁
I feel better after I see someone doing it.
yeah it helps to get there really early or late..any time that it isn’t busy so you can take the time to learn the machine on your own
I really hate people who think they’re too good for Planet Fitness. I told someone I work out at PF and they were like “eww” Like why? It’s cheap and its just like any other gym (and also everything is purple which is pretty to me haha) I love Planet Fitness💪🏻😊
OMG YES EXACTLY!! Ive been a member for YEARS! Maybe 5?? All my gains and progress was made in this building lol🤪💕👏🏽🔥💪🏽🍑🍑

To add to this, PF also has an app that has videos on how to use each machine as well, so you don't even have to interact with other people if you don't want lmao
I meet such nice people at the gym this way, there’s no shame in asking! Usually people will take the time to help, it’s like a community there!
Planet fitness is so under appreciated!
very true You can get an effective workout there if you know what you are doing
Extra true I lost over 100 pounds with the Planet lol!!!
I agree!!!!
Rian Arrington that’s awesome. Congrats!!!
@@rianelizabeth lets go!!!

There is also a QR code on the side that’ll show a small video of how it works.

I feel your pain 😓

Why not just get the person working their to show you how to use. duh problem solved

@Callie Johnson the nose picking?
Lmaoo he looks like Vanilla Ice
I had to rewatch it after reading your comment and oh my gosh you’re so right 😂😂😂😂😂 it was hilarious!
Yeah im fat as hell but its my favorite ab machine because it works
how good your abs look-is very much down to your diet.you dont have to train abs all the time for that
i tried it and i couldn’t even do it 🥲 so i just gave up and left haha

omg on that last machine i couldn’t even get it to move 😂 i was so confused and thats why i’m sitting here watching this video!
Same! I thought I was too heavy lol.
Its because youre using your own body weight in addition to the weight you have to add to it 😂
Pull up with feet as you pull down on bars. This machine is actually a really good one!
Same here!
I also could not figure out the last one. I have up
I cracked up watching the last one because I specifically remember struggling hard too. It's not just you!

That last ab machine is by far the toughest, you're able to do a real "crunch" and the range of motion is wide, I usually do about 120 lbs for reps.

same and i'm ripped lol
I couldn’t even get it to budge!! I said either I’m doing it wrong or I’m just really weak lol. This video and your comment made me so happy because I no longer feel discouraged! 😩😂
Look to where your shoulder blade placement is, the small pad, and the open space should be just under them.
Thank you for the video! I started yesterday planet fitness for the first time! I good to know about those abs machines.
I am SO glad I found this , thank you for posting! I had no idea how to use those ABS machines and like another poster on here, you hate to stand there looking completely lost! LOL. I just joined PF a week ago. I have seen all these machines. Today I will be using a few now that I see how to do it!
Thank you so much for this video, it helped me get up the courage to go try some of these machines ! 🎉😊
YAYYYY!!!👏🏽🫶🏼
Thank you soooo much for this beginners guide, it’s very helpful
Savvy keep doing the Hammer Strength Crunch. It is so good. Yes really hard to get going but totally worth it. I also do PF and just love this one.
You’re right thank you for pushing me!!👏🏽 hopefully i can do at least a full 10 reps soon hahaha
@@saavyy I know you will. I thought of you tonight as I did 3 sets.
Seeing all the comments of people not being able to use the last an machine gave me such comfort because SAME. 🙋🏻♀️. I didn’t leave until I figured it out but the embarrassment was still there. Finally today I will give it another try after the first try 2 months ago 😂
Thanks to u I have tried so many more machines at my planet fitness!
Good video! Yes that last one is hard I walk right pass it in the weight area!
🥳🥳
Love ya girl 💕
Your videos help me out soooo much.
Nina Ellis You are so sweet. New chapter, new life for me. I wish you the best
Girl WithLuv I wish you the best as well! ♥️ Thanks!
Thanks for making this! I just started at PF and I couldn't figure out one of these! I also couldn't find the yellow one, but now I know where to look!
I love the second last machine I just started going to the gym but it's painful and I guess it works because u really feel the immediately
Your videos are great! Very very helpful and right to the point! Thank you!
Thanks babe💕💕
The machine at 5:12 is the best machine out of all of them. The last one I can see how it works and it can be hard so I would say that one as second best. The rest of these machines your wasting your time. Take it from me I’ve tried all of them, and I’m a gym rat and have abs like crazy. I got my abs from doing regular crunches and set ups, leg raises but the 5:12 machine defined my abs, made my abs stronger and shredded.
Your videos are so helpful. I feel so dumb trying new stuff sometimes. Especially when people are around. Lol
i tried the last machine for the first time yesterday and was like nope not for me nope HAHA anyway thank you so much for your videos!! i signed up for planet fitness 4 weeks ago but have only been using the machines i know (it's not many tbh) but ur videos have been really helpful!! especially showing how to adjust the machines bc sometimes they just wont budge for me 😭 and since im relatively new to all this, seeing u show how to use the machines makes me less nervous about trying it myself! thank u :)
YAY!! Im happy they help💗😊
Abdominal Crunch is my favourite machine. Sure it is a little bit hard but I love it. ❤️☺️
You are very pleasing on the eyes. Your workout is working!
When I started the PF trainer told me that last ab machine would be really hard. Glad to see what I will one day be able to do.
I tried one of those last ab machine you used . I liked it becouse I thought it worked out more muscles than just my abs. Im looking to join a gym again after not being to one in 5 years
🥳🥳🥳
Your videos are so helpful!!!
Im glad they help🙂 ill be back to filming soon!
Lol that last machine is so tricky!!! But surprisingly I learned to use it right and I can do about 30-40 lbs on it😢😅
Dang CONGRATS!!😭👏🏽🔥
Fernanda Montero Any tips on how to use it?
The last machine I wish my gyms in North Carolina had but they don’t. I want to try it. I see fitness connection has it. Some guys make it look easy but I’m sure the struggle is worth it those 10 reps are worth it
Thank you so much for all of these types of videos
Thank you, I'm in Australia and there is a PF opening close to me with machines I've never seen before so it was super helpful watching this video
😊😊
I'm least experienced in the ab machines so thank you
NO PROBLEM😊
Omg I wished I saw this video before embarrassing myself🤣🤣. I also couldn't use that last machine I literally just walked away. Thank you your videos helped me alot!
❤️❤️❤️
Great videos it’s my first day you gave confidence like who cares who’s around
YESSS!!!🥳🥳
Btw that first machine you used at the 30 minute express workout zone can also be found in the area where they have all the abs and stretching equipment ( In my planet fitness home gym anyway.)
Heyyy girll keep up the good workkk💖💖!!! I was wondering if you can film a full week of workouts at Planet fitnesss!!
Lmao that last exercise machine..it’s hard to do but I love it..it’s one of my favorites
This video helped me so much... I was nervous trying new machines today at pf...
Nueva subscriptora!! Tengo una semana que inicie en PF y no sabía por donde comenzar, asi que tus videos me serán muy útiles para mi rutina.
💪💪
Thanks. Good job. It does take time to get use to the motion is some of the machines.
The last machine you were on, is my favorite machine I usually do 30-50 reps each set
Damn u go girl I cant even do 1 lol that shit is too hard
they have a machine like the one at 8:11 at crunch and I did it all the time, no issue. I haven't tried the one at planet fitness, but maybe that specific variety just isn't designed very well.
I like the last one, it's kinda hard but you get a crazy burn
