I'm so grateful for heather's women-specific topics, especially menopause -related issues. Unfortunately, menopause is kept quiet, so I really appreciate anything I can find in the topic since I'm an age grouper about to enter the 60-64 category. Thanks!
I have to use high impact/high support sports bras. I find that wearing a "lifeguard" style swim top under my tri suit works great when racing. Wearing a wet sports bra for the bike and run caused a lot of skin irritation, but the high support swim top did the trick for comfort and support when racing.
First, great video! Thank you. After trying a few different sports bras I went with Shock Absorber. They have the nice cross over the back and keep the girls tight and snugly in place. Great for larger cup sizes. I used to run in tights only and this year decided to be brave and got nike running shorts. I found a slightly longer pair called tempo lux and now cannot imagine running in anything else anymore.
Thank you, I’ve had a chafe under the boobs which I only realised when I got in the shower and felt the burn. Now I’m very cautious about running my fingers around the straps for sharp bits before I buy. Thanks for the great info 👏😊💕
I have been struggling so much finding shorts that works for me. I do think that most of the ladies shorts are waaay too short 😂 I am pear shaped and quite tall so most of the 2in1s and cute short ones don't fit anyway - too loose at the waist and too tight over tights. The cycling style shorts work for me but I was feeling very self-conscious when I started wearing them. Out of pure desperation I actually tried men's 2in1s and shockingly they fit me the best! They are longer and very comfy 😁
I LOVE LOVE LOVE my Zyia Light n Tight leggings and crops for running. They also make awesome running shorts that don't ride up, and sports bras that are both incredibly comfortable and supportive. Full disclosure, I am a rep for the company, but it's because I truly love their gear so much!
Great video! I’ve found the runderwear hot pants are the best underwear. There are no seems of labels so there’s zero areas where they could rub. I combine these with a 2 in 1 pair of shorts and find it’s the most comfortable. There’s some riding up from the shorts but you feel well covered as it’s basically three layers of shorts! For bras, I’ve found the Shock absorber running bra to be excellent; really supportive and there’s no movement. I’d also like to know what others do with their hair. I have really long hair and put it in a plait and tuck it in my running vest. I wear a band for my fringes. I’ve never run in a cap but may try it.
A running cap is a must for me. I live in a hot, humid climate and the cap keeps the sweat off my face and keeps my hair under control. Bright colors also add visibility. I like Headsweats brand best, but there are a lot of good ones out there.
L H Thanks for the tips! I’ll check them out. I like the Gore head bands, they have two different colours that provide good visibility. I live in Greece so dealing with the heat is always top priority.
Thank you for your tips. As for sports bra, I really like Victoria's Secret sports bra with the clip and zipper in the front. Super comfy and easy to put on & off.
I'm trying to back into running any advice? I also enjoy spin classes in gym hopefully I will start both soon, my main worry is I'm 13 stone 4 when I ran it was 2 stone lighter kind regards.
This is a great and very helpful video thanks Heather & GTN! I am still unfortunately finding size of running shorts, leggings etc is my main issue. If a product line has my size it's normally the largest and never have models wearing it and I can't tell if it is actually any good. With the Covid 19 restrictions I can only buy items online as there are shops in my immediate area that sell women's sport clothing, so I am left wearing a cheap pair I bought off Amazon that are too big as I've lost weight, and are more holes than leggings 😅😔
It took me a long time to find out comfortable, high support, sports bra. It’s was so incredibly uncomfortable and painful when running while my boobs didn’t get enough support. I found out that wearing a smaller size than my actual size works for me. For example, I’m a Small but usually size down to an XS.
Aaaah de sportsbra headache T__T my good bra is starting to fade as the edges are starting to torture me and I am dreading to have to go to the store T__T
LizzieDripping if you’re in the US, try Gypsy Runner shorts. There’s a 9 inch model and they have really large pockets on the sides. They tend to run large (I’m a size 8 and wear a small) but I’ve done 20 mile runs in them with no chafing issues and the pockets are nice for nutrition!

Yass I have the same shorts and they’re just amaaazing, I didn’t like something too tight and these are so light and just perfect

Thanks for the tips 😀
Great fan of the 2 in 1 shorts, very practical!
Happy running everyone 🏃♀️
Yeah I as long as the inner fabric isn't to thick... I have one I can only wear to a certain temperature else it's cooking me alive xD

Enell is the only sports-bra that supports my 38DDs fully. Have used them for over 10 years P.x
Great video. I would love recommendations for tri shorts.

Am I the only lady who finds ladies’ running shorts indecently short ? And if you are a little larger than size 6 finding a sports bra is tough !

Megan Morris Thanks 👍
I wonder if choices of clothes would have an impact to the quality of running? 🤔
I think it does have an impact. I find that if I'm comfortable and not drenched wet clothes I can run and workout longer and enjoy the moment more.
