    Great video. You are so lucky to have those fairs in your area. As I live in a small town hundreds of miles from any major city I never get to go to any. Thanks for sharing and look forward to your next video. Take care.

      Hi Dan, it is wonderful to know that I will be able in future to find and buy stamps when I am further on my collecting path and know what to seek for. I checked, and this stamp fair in Tauranga is held four times a year. It must be difficult to be a bit cut off from other stamp collectors. That is why a growing digital stamp community is so excellent. Thanks for watching again. I am glad my videos is not putting you off. I should interview you as well, probably via zoom, when I am better with interviewing and be able to react on your stamp collecting focus areas. Please take care as well. 🙂🙂🙂

    Thanks for doing this video on the Tauranga stamp fair! I have been to New Zealand in 2006 and 2007 for 2 work trips to Te Puke, and have been to Tauranga only a few times. Glad to see so many New Zealand stamps and philatelic items sold there, which I would have bought a lot if I am there!

    • @GreatStampAdventure
      @GreatStampAdventure  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Joyseng, first of all thank you so much for watching. I am so glad you enjoyed my video. Well, you just have to come and visit again. 🙂 The fair is held four times a year, and I think it is a good event for buying stamps. One can even let the dealers that also exhibit there know what you are interested in, and if they have stock, they will bring it to the fair. Thanks again for watching and for commenting. 😊😊😊

      @@GreatStampAdventureYou are welcomed. Yes, I do hope to visit New Zealand again but it will likely be Jan or Feb in 2025 or 2026 as there are other countries I prefer to visit first (the list has became quite long since Covid). I am glad to know there will be quarterly stamp fair in Tauranga, and I will keep in mind when I finally get to go to New Zealand again!

      Hi Grant! Thank you for watching and your kind comment! Ah, expanding to Australia and New Zealand - we must stay in touch if you want to. You must watch my next video - not to watch me! - but I am going to show what I learned from one of the members at the show - about New Zealand stamps. It is a bit here and there out of the nature of our conversation, but I think you will find it interesting. Yes, I feel so privileged to now going to be a member of the stamp club. The members I spoke to are indeed friendly and kind and humble, not showing their probably immense knowledge. Thanks again for watching! 🙂

    Another enjoyable video! The stock book with all those browning stamps - sometimes called foxing here in the UK - made me nervous! To see such deterioration on relatively new stamps would definitely put me off buying…

    • @GreatStampAdventure
      @GreatStampAdventure  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi again, Richard! And thanks again for watching and commenting!!!! I appreciate it so much, because you are also clearly knowledgeable! I am still not so clued up and attentive about foxing. It is something I must really get more information on and know the impact and consequences of it. In the mean time I am probably "ignoring" it too much. Yes, I thought afterwards I should have been careful about my decision to buy since there was so much discolouration. Sorry to bother you, but do you know if foxing is due to a chemical process (rusting) or is it fungus growth? I hear it especially happens when a collection is housed in a damp place. Is there any way that one can "wash" the foxing out of a stamp? Should a keep such "foxed" stamps and albums separate from other stamps and albums in my collection - can it spread? Sorry for all the questions!!!! Lots of best wishes!

    Shauny, thx for sharing your visit and your experiences with us. You put so much joy in it! Its really being on a stamp fair hunting for something nice. Im also reinventing the hobby again, never stopped but putting more effort in the hobby. Also i had the experience of the first stampfair a year ago. A bit nervous: how does it works? But is was great and so nice to talk about the similar hobby. The age differences are no problem at all. Only as the retired woman you interviewed, i would like her have more time to spend on the hobby.
    Regards Camiel from Holland

      Hi Camiel! Please to "meet" you. 🙂🙂I was also quite apprehensive for going to the stamp fair, but it worked out so well. It is amazing to get to know people from all over the world that are also stamp collectors! Probably because I am not so young anymore, either, I really don't see or is aware of ages of people - young or old. It is only the body getting older, the person inside stays the same. 🙂 Thank you very, very, very much for watching and for your comment. You must be safe. 🙂

    Can't get over how reasonable the prices are for stamps in New Zealand! I found an album at a flea market in Portugal - there were 480 recent stamps, mainly CTO's with many duplicates they wanted NZ $770.59!!! Needless to say I smiled and walked away! I have stamp envy!

    • @GreatStampAdventure
      @GreatStampAdventure  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Julie! That is interesting. I still struggle to put prices for e.g. mixes and collections in albums in perspective. I still think in South African Rands (presently I think about ZAR11 to the NZ$ or even weaker). I have no idea how much comparable stamps will cost in SA, but I thought the albums are expensive in NZ! 😃 More than $700 - that is HUGE! I wonder how much postage would be from here to Portugal? There is a trading site in NZ - TradeMe, and every now and then one can really get collections etc. VERY reasonable in TrMe. In future if you really want to purchase stamps you could watch TradeMe, and if you want something I could bid for you, and eventually post it to you, if you could just please reimburse me for shipping costs? Anyway, apart from us possibly swopping in future, if you ever want to try and work something out regarding buying, I will surely try to help. 🙂 Thanks for watching and commenting again!

      😂I know next to nothing about bit coin, it didn't even get started with me. If I understand correctly, I hope, different from bit coin, stamp collecting might rather progress to the kind of future, buzzling convention of AI robotics or something more advance and popular. Just maybe. 🙂
