- The Yamaha R3 is back in 2024 with USD forks and a new front design. But with a price tag of Rs. 4.64L does it stand a chance against the Aprilia RS 457 and the new Kawasaki Ninja 500? Sarge hops on to find out.
#Yamaha #R3 #sagarsheldekar
Yamaha took so long Aprilla made a whole new bike in that time!😂
why do you have 3 comments brother! XD
@@aarnavsrivastava8041:p
True 🙈
I think YAMAHA is thinking about 20 years ahead like the HeroMotoCorp done with the KARIZMA, so for that very time may be we will not able to ride a bike because of age issue😂
Yamaha and honda are so fuckedup in indian market
rs457's price tag made all these bikes like r3, ninja 300 & 400/500, irrelevant!
True
It's all fun until you realise the difference bw the reliability of an Italian and Japanese 😑
@@el-diablo_666reliability & service of yamaha & Honda(worse) is not same,as it used to be until 2018
@@el-diablo_666 Yamaha has one of the worst service centres in India , it's pretty bad(I own a R15 V4)
@@burnttoast9890 let me tell you Yamaha service wasfar better as compared to Aprilia imo. I had an r15 v 2 which was as good as new even after 5 years but my SR 150 stops in the middle of the road and refused to start at all.
PS: heard sales and service in yamaha blu square is very good, that's where the r3 mt 03 are gonna be sold I think.
I remember way back in 2019-20 I was waiting for the MT07/R3/XSR155 to launch!
All three are considered vfm machines abroad 😢
Wish it was the same in india
After comparing all the faired models in the segment, I found the RC390 to be the best VFM and practical bike for India.. Powerful, Great Handling, Great Brakes, All the tech you need and Cheap to maintain. Single cylinder, yes but not as vibey as some other counterparts. Only thing missing is the adjustable front suspension.
Well next gen RC is going to get adjustable suspension so yeah it's gonna get solved
It does have a lot going for it.
@@cosmicvortex2nope. Rc can never defeat 457 or n500. For that it will need a complete new engine with around 500cc if it stays single cylinder. 457 is doing 0-100 in 4.4secs. It is miles ahead of the current rc and Duke.
KTM practical bike hahaha😂
@@aqeelbiker4762 it is a practical choice, and is easy to maintain, service experience is good as well. Have heard many complaints about Yamaha in service regard
If you showed me the previous gen R3 and the current R3 side by side, I'd definitely think the previous gen was the newer model. This latest version seems a bit elementary in comparison.
To each their own
Previous gen R3 looks dope🔥🔥🔥
i bought yamaha r15 v2.0 in 2011 by seeing POWER TO THE RIDER old show by sagar, it was good memories back then.
Haha happy to help.

Sarge sarge yet again, I watched your video back in PD, your reviews was at peak, and now another level, back then was in college, couldn't afford, but I was motivated with your review,

I love how Yamaha doesnt care about the competition. They know in this world of everchanging technology, some old school riders will not care about a slipper clutch, riding modes and stuff. That they would love to turn back time and resonate with the old analog world.
All they would want is a bike with character, a hoot to ride in the city as well as the twisties, with the wind in our hair.
Always a Sarge fan 🤟 Always a Yamaha fan.

Yeah being old school is not bad, old doesn't mean bad. But price should also be like the old one then😅 its like charging ninja 500's price for ninja 300

💪🏿💪🏿💪🏿 black R3 looks so stealthy!!
It does
I have a matte black R3. I ride with a florescent yellow/green Arai helmet. So far, so good. I ride every goddamn day. I do not desire any other bike.
I was fixed on RS457, now I am confused after realizing Service Costs, Reliability and other minor issues such as heating, clunky shift and comfort. 😕
There is no issue bro only some heating issues are faced otherwise it's a very good bike
You can go with rs457 it's a very good bike
Some Heating you need to bear in all the bikes 250+ cc, it's expected in all the higher cc bikes.
Owning the R3 myself, i can blindly recommend the 457 over the R3. This Yamaha doesn't have the zing for its asking price, it's an outdated machine.
RS still better bet
as always superb review bro 🙂 and stoppies instead of wheelies too 😊👍🏼

@@SagarSheldekarOfficial Ur welcome 🙂
I want to upgrade from cbr250r. Which one i should consider. I am looking for retro bike now and no sports tourer and all.
Story of Yamaha & Aprilia in MotoGP, its quite evident here 🌟
I was looking at the R7 as my second bike after my XSR 125 until I realized I absolutely do not need to be going that fast.
The R3 is perfect, just need to be honest with myself about why I want to ride, is it to enjoy riding or to pose.
I don't care if the competition has more ccs, more power, is cheaper or anything like that, I want a trouble free experience and I trust Yamaha on that.
I prefer my bike to be fast enough for everything I want to do with it and not one bit faster, rather have to push it to the limit if I want to go faster and not constantly having to hold myself back not to go too fast.
And yes, I'm one of those people who won't look past a Japanese bike, unless they are a BMW but they are way too much motorcycle for my needs.

Hey Sarge!!! Great video and review as always but, I noticed you being low in this video which is never the case in any of your videos. Hope everything's fine out there. Take care and much love Sarge.
All good man
One thing which always finds exciting is the way how smooth the gearbox works in an yamaha
Gearbox is great
The title is truly apt Sarge and I doubt Yamaha cares about manufacturing this and MT-03 locally.
Unlikely

R3 is 1 Lakh Cheaper now since 1st week of April !! As of now R3 and Aprilia RS457 is Almost Same On-Road Price !❤
Where did you read about the price cut ?
That was an April fools day prank my friend
Thanks for the great review Sarge!! I own this 2024 model. Yes, agree it's not a value for money machine. I was trying to choose between Ninja 400 and 2024 R3. I would say it boils down to individual needs. Being a middle aged rider I was looking for a comfortable, light weight, twin cylinder, reliable machine and cheaper to maintain. R3 is a no fancy machine. It's a raw, reliable and rustic machine which does everything what its supposed to do. Service cost is less than 3k for a twin!!! Bliss to ride in city because of its light weight and flickable nature. Highway ride is very poised and extremely balanced even at 160+ speeds. No provision for luggage or pillion comfort. Good FE for a twin about 25-28 average. Gearing is slick and precise. Overall fun machine.
Agree. Watch out for my upcoming comparison
@@SagarSheldekarOfficialwhen can we expect that video..?
Thanks Sarge, expecting that eagerly!
R3 is Rustic??
@@struggler5960 yes meant its plain and simple machine
the usd forks make it harder to install cartridge. Im considering swapping the fairings on my 2016 r3 to new ones and get the best of both worlds.. Oh and have they moved the brake lines to steel braided? Mine came with rubber hoses and an al braided hose made a huge difference.
Still rubber lines

Sagar ji, which one is better between R3 and Ninja 300 in riding joy, engine refinement, reliability, vibrations, heat, braking, ergonomics?
R3 has marginally better specs (like ground clearance, cc, torque, power) but much higher on price.
Watch my comparo
Bro help me with to choose from R3 or Ninja 300? From ur perspective other than value?
Ninja 300 kinda super old now bru😢
RS457>Ninja 500> Ninja 400> RC390> R3> Ninja 300
For me this should be the order in which you can arrange these bikes( I have only properly ridden rc390/ninja 400 among these😅)
R3 has better equipment than ninja 300 but price difference is not justified.
The R3 is better bike of the two
@@SagarSheldekarOfficial thank u bro ..I thought Ninja 300 has an attitude ( sports bike ) to ride than R3 ( sports commuter ) engine wise
If you have more budget go with ninja 500

Hi Sagar!
Love your videos as always but not this R3.
The addition of USD forks and all LED setup is appreciable but YAMAHA should have work on some technical specs like Colour Instrument Cluster despite being changing the design language of the Legendary Previous R3.
That one looks far more aggressive with inverted twin headlams and overall design than the 2024 R3.....what do you think ?
It has definitely grown longer in the tooth
Nice to notice that you didn't turn towards the camera this time. 😜
Huh?
First R3 did have slipper clutch right?
I doubt it
Sir what should an ideal first bike be? Is it dangerous for beginner riders to hop on a bike with extra hp? Any suggestions please? Riding isn’t my passion, I just like to ride bikes at this point of time… 😊
More power comes with more responsibility to hone the skills to hone it
It would be nice if they would have been launching the R6 base model 😊 near abt this price bracket... R6 is also another level ... Unfortunately it is banned in India😞
I still watch ur pd triumph Daytona review what masterpiece ❤
Hope you have seen our 6r video
@@SagarSheldekarOfficial yes beautiful 😻
what do a bowl of ice-cream and sarge's review have in common? they both send chills down my spine!
absolutely phenomenal review, as usual. I don't know how you manage to do it, but you've made one of the most plain bikes in the segment look as desirable as a Ducati. Sagar sir you are simply incredible!
That analogy though! 😅 Glad you enjoyed it mate. Do like and share the love ahead
@@SagarSheldekarOfficial The analogy was, funnily enough, inspired by the bowl of ice-cream sitting on my desk while watching the review! But yes, happy to spread the word :)
Sarge please make video quality better to 60fps!!
That's not cinematic
I agree with the low end torque issue but I disagree with the heat management issue. It could be maybe because of the bike not gone into its first service.
Or maybe i am wrong.
This was already serviced
