Your scientific explanation on how you went about designing your paramotor was not only fascinating but educational as well. It has really helped me get my foot in the door on information about this sport. Now when I watch a video so much more makes sense. I am excited to get training after I finish a couple of major projects in my life. While the wife is not sure which brand she will settle on as we have different views as to what we want to do when we get in the sky, the Scout definitely looks to be the choice for me.
Love the running like gazelle on the Serengeti comment lol. Your examples are great for someone to decide on what size wing to get based on wt and type of flying not just the power plant. Thanks for sharing.
Absoutly love the videos. Been flying my scout for 18 months now and could not be happier. What are your thoughts on a 3 blade prop? I would gladly sacrifice some thrust for a reduction in vibration
I'm glad you said "never to much power for racing" BUT for everyday flying for a light weight guy at 125 pounds. Free flying I use an XS wing so with the motor I'm still considered a light weight. I have been told an AC Nitro 200 is too big for me and not to even think of anything bigger.

SCOUT paramotor Aggressive! Old biker and as I found out most of my type like to fly like we rode! With time and wing size will be as I've been told mid range of the wings rated size. I wish to learn swiftly as I progress into PPG. This series is helping me a lot. Thanks.
Wish I was old enough to become a paramotor pilot. Since I'm 13, and I unfortunately live in CA, I have to wait till I'm 16. But at this point, scout is the best choice in my opinion.
How much of a consideration is head wind? I saw a video where Tucker got into a bit of trouble because some wind came up and he was having trouble making forward progress.
flying speed has nothing to do with the power of your motor. the motor determines how fast you climb. but if you fly a fast, small glider you need more power to maintaine level flight.
Hi. Good video as always. One question, can u tell everyone what you mean with pilot weight. Is it "naked" or fully up with gear (clothes, helmet, intercom, batteries, cameras, water and so on)? Seen so many different info what they mean with pilot weight on different web pages. (Oh, btw, still looking forward for the next video and some info on the 4-stroke engine. I've been hoping to by one and I think I can now afford one.! I really would like to buy a 4 stroke Engine built by (Or backed by) a reputable Company. such as yours. I don't really want to buy an Egg Motor (Modified scooter Eng.) or a Bailey (English Experimental Eng.) who's reputation I can't seem to nail down. I've even thought about Modifying a PREDITOR eng. but those who have done it say it's doable but it's a lot of hassle. Also, they cost around $200.00 in America (Worth the hassle) but around $700.00 for the exact same Eng. down here in Australia!! Got to check out the Shipping costs for Eng. and some good Billet accessories. If your 4strk. Engine failed to make the grade, then at least let us all know!
Doesn't your formula need to take into account thrust as a parameter? Props play a big roll in all of this and also where in the power band the power is at. I see this is a general guideline you are giving and is certainly valuable but wanted to get your thoughts in regards to thrust by a given motor\prop combo. Thank you for the insight.
Can you please let us know how much thrust we need to sustain flight same altitude on sea level. To aid in paragliding like electric boost motor pack. Ex 80 kg pilot with standard size glider. Thanks
Do I need the Air Conception Tornado 280 or is there something with better fuel consumption?? I'm 250lbs (114kg), 6'5" inch tall (196cm) and muscular. I'm used to running around with body armor with ammo and weapon that weighs 60lbs (27kg) and I plan on flying low altitude at airports near sea level. According to this video and others, I've been told even the Moster Plus is underpowered for me... Any ideas?
27hp would be the minimum, yet doable. Flying the Icarus Trophy race I was 90kg plus at least 20kg extra load (extra fuel, two stroke oil, camping gear, cameras, power banks, water, food, clothes) and the moster plus was still ok. Tornado probably better but I have no experience with that engine (reliability, vibration, pull start...).
Start with 27 horsepower. Vittorazi Moster plus as an example. Later you may want to upgrade tomore powerful engine depending on your next glider and flying Style. But you can easily stay happy with this engine forever.
+Oceanic Opps any paramotor can be used s tandem if powerful enough. Additional harness for the passenger and spreader bars are necessary. No big deal.

Im tryna make basically a flycycle 😂 I'm broke and want free flight so i though i would just go ahead and make it
Horsepower on your back will not make you fly faster. Your speed of flight is determined by the size and type of the glider only. Smaller gliders are faster at same load. Advanced competition gliders are faster than beginner gliders at same size. More powerful engine will only give you higher climb rate and allow you to use faster gliders. Yet, at 45 kg the paramotor with fuel and reserve would be probably heavier than you. 15 HP is plenty sufficient.

I would guess around 30-40kg
I weight 60kg and top80 suits me perfectly. It's good there are manufacturers who think about the little ones ;-)

What is the prop RPM needed for take off and why is a reduction required for an engine.Why not a straight fit prop directly to an engine.

i only weigh 45kg, i guess the small motor will do me then, i wonder how fast i would be with 36hp though
