Sam man I luv these lil cars. In Canada we didnt see many but I've seen a small block in one and it was mental. They are cool no matter what gets done. That one is in friggin amazing condition man.
So while this is almost true! They did actually make a very limited number of copper sport 5s That had the jack knight 5 speed box from the factory. I nearly turned it of when he said 5 speed minis though definitely hit a trigger in me !! Sorry Sam.
@@sathos true- I've got an F350 SD (crew cab, 4WD, Warn bumper & winch) and it weighs about 4 tons empty- it's an old ranch truck from Oregon. I've had deer jump out in front of it on two occasions and it obliterated all 3 deer (one incident involved 2) with no damage
I had a A-reg 83 1.3 in 1989 as 1st car at 16, used it over winter as rode motorcycles. Had some good cheap fun in the mini 😂. 10" mountney steering wheel, turned seat runners around, took out rear seats as 6'5" 😂. Like go karts ,,, but wouldn't want 1 now as traffic 2 tonne , & mini tiny with no safety aids .
One totally un-fun thing to consider when gifting it to your wife... Minis don't crash well and everything else on the roads is bigger, heavier, faster and hits harder. I only mention this because for us family men safety can be a real concern when we're giving a car to a loved one and you said you'd give this as a "daily driver".
A car is only original once in that condition body wise the sensible think would be at all possible avoid paint. I would also get rid of those 13 inch superlites for the correct 12 inch rover factory mini lights. PS it's actually the most common version of the Cooper however that still makes it worth a good sum.
Yes - as previously noted, 1992/3 is rover not austin (not austin grille either), 4 'speed' box, 5 is not standard/original. Of course, not really too important.
Sam ignore the haters The mini scene can be quite toxic at times “I should know” as you know I have your back when you need anything 😜 and I will make sure you have this one is sorted and not a gate guard at the farm 😘
For Duck Sake Sam. Please finish something. Love the channel but it's getting boring now. If you want to just collect projects to never finish. Open a scrap yard.
omg really that was a differant engine running at the end there you never sort a car you just collect them n make 2 videos and forget about them unsub from me you cant decieve people like that
Not at all you can see it’s the same engine just my footage got currupted so had to crop the video sorry buddy… new video this week with the car being rebuilt in 7 days… thanks for your comments always appreciated
You are cleaning the car all wrong. First, you should have rinsed the car. Second, after the foam, you should have hand scrubbed, then rinsed it. Also, why are you always wearing those headphones around your neck?
Love the videos Sam! Such a huge fan of these old Austin Minis. Can't wait to see this series unfold!
I’d love to get my hands on one in that condition! Great find Sam 👍
What a beautiful message. Your kindness in sharing this is appreciated.
This motivates me. Your humble sharing of knowledge is helpful.

they never made a 5 speed mini as standard mate.

@@chipmater69er It was an option, but they're not standard.
He does say its a 4 speed. I think he was meaning its a very early injection car due to it only having 4 gears
@@andrewharpin6749 so the cooper sport 5s were all factory 5 speeds. That's what makes them sport 5s!
It's More gooder
I'm sorry but it's not an Austin mini...at that age it's a rover mini
Whatever it is it will get towed into a field and nothing will happen to it.
That's a mighty fine mini ya got yourself there sam ✌️🙏🎄⛄ Merry Xmas 🕺🧑🎄
Sam, that's a perfect gift for your wife. Such an iconic little car and if I wasn't a tall lanky old git, I'd love a mini.
Finally a rebuild I can relate to. My bros First car was a mini 850 (ex America airforce runway car in army flat black on Q plates).
Brilliant find. I've got an H reg RSP same colour
COPPER !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
thanks for the new video sam
One of my favorites as well - a right hand drive Mini is on my list for sure!
Nice Mini- the other day I saw an Innocenti in Carrboro and Mishka had to do a double take to believe me when I told her it's " An Italian Mini"
Sam, I'm not 100% sure but I'm pretty sure there were no 5 speed apart from a few special editions. Perhaps I might need Google to confirm! LOL
Awe man that would be so obscure here in North Carolina, I'd drive the hell out of it!! 😎👍
What part of NC..? I'm in Chapel Hill & Pittsboro
@@olikat8 I'm in Reidsville.
@@MAGGOT_VOMIT I'm in Pittsboro most times, Chapel Hill the other part
You wouldnt wanna get hit by an American pickup...the car would become a jam jar and you would be the jam 😂

Fix the mistake in the title, there's an extra D- abandoned. Car is a great find
And British! 😂
A solid state electronic ignition system will revolutionise the daily ability of the Mini!
I’d love to own a mini like that. Such a cool car

Great idea 😂

Pretty sure it's classed as a Rover Mini rather than Austin

Background music is getting stagnant.
Do a good resto on here and i think your wife will love it
some of those injection parts can be hard to source.
Will be cracking once recommissioned and repainted in parts.
Dads got a green G reg one in a garage tent with 9k miles on it, hes had it over 30years
Hey Sam, any further updates on the MK3 GT40?
Yes - as previously noted, 1992/3 is rover not austin (not austin grille either), 4 'speed' box, 5 is not standard/original. Of course, not really too important.
'Austin' died in 1988 (as Austin Rover).
What music track is playing throughout the video? Banging tune!
Talking of mops didn’t you see your hair while editing this video? 😂😂
The 5 speed box only came out in 99. Most of the mpi minis were 4 speed😊
Sam ignore the haters The mini scene can be quite toxic at times “I should know” as you know I have your back when you need anything 😜 and I will make sure you have this one is sorted and not a gate guard at the farm 😘
Thanks legend
😮😮😮
I've seen the original Ads for the original Mini's, lots of storage room plus four people, you should give the car to your wife.
:o)❤
Just checked the mot history. You need to get this on a ramp and checked by a mini specialist pronto.

In the next two months this mini the mustang and the Ultima will be done but I do appreciate your patience:) thanks matey
Nice one nick Knowles, son....pass on this mini...there pure dog 🐕 doo dar.....rott boxes 📦....
Check all of the vacuum lines, any leaks it will run like a pig
Oh no another great car left to rot at Wigley farm. Sam can’t finish any project. The joy of buying outweighs the passion for repair/repair
Watch this space matey :)
Check the boot for gold bricks...
good video would be better without the stupid background music
whats a bristish
3 days still hasn't clocked it 😂
i wouldnt let a loved one drive a mini as an everyday car. they are not safe in accidents.
That’s a rover mini at that age not an Austin
66.7k subs how ?
Andi Q5 in 🇬🇧
ALL CLASSIC MINIS ARE 4 SPEED
Is it fake ? 😂

The headphones are hands free :) they have quiet control so I can still awnser even when it’s loud :)
