  • Originally bought this crane to install in the back of gramps (ls swapped s10) but it turned out to be a little bit to big…. So we put it in the old mans 87 Silverado, now when we go to pick up something we’ve bought we don’t have to rely on someone to load it for us. Crane was purchased at princess auto and ill put the link down below!

Its a good thing the closest princess auto is an hour away and I have time to reconsider impulse purchases. 🤣

Haha 😂 yeah … it’s pretty hard when they send you the flyer in the mail and it’s got all that cool stuff in it!

Pickup truck design peaked in the 80s/90s. Everything after that just jacked the prices up and made them more like cars. I don’t understand why the manufacturers don’t bring back these classic designs with simple technology for a reasonable price. Seems like sales would be through the roof.

All I need is a smaller 500 lbs compact unit to fit in the canopy that's cable winch.

I’ve used the other version of this with my milling machine - to lift my heavy rotary table and dividing head (the mini crane)

I like the design of this one vs the one they sell here in the states at Harbor Freight…. But I’m not driving all the way to Canada to get it….🤣

It is a pretty slick design! I know princess auto ships…. 😂 looks like you might need one!

You can’t compare this one to harbor freights crane. They are completely different.
You can get this same crane from Northern Tool in the States. Ultra-Tow is brand.

any issues since the install? think this could work to load wrecked motorcycle?

No not really, just made up a jack stand to go under that side of the bumper when lifting heavier things, definitely would be great for lifting wrecked motorcycles!

Why test a 2000lb crane out with a 200lb engine?

I’m sure the crane is capable of lifting more but I really have only used it for lifting engines/rear ends/heavier car parts.
