This 2001 production about Queen Victoria & Albert is far more detailed & historically correct than the 2009 film "Young Victoria"
    It's excellent, and very touching...

Outstanding performance by Peter Ustinov in the role of William IV. From the 2001 BBC two-part drama "Victoria & Albert" (2001) th-cam.com/video/yqKSyHjt4lg/w-d-xo.html

In what manner was it historically correct? Both are dramas. I thoroughly enjoyed Young Victoria which I've seen several times.

@@michealtaylor7745 - what I meant is that the 2001 production is far more detailed, particular at the part when, several years after their wedding, Prince Albert comfessed that when they got married he did not love her as much as she did, but that, with time he eventually realized that he was in love with the queen.

@@Amadeu.Macedo I did not know that, but, I mean, I am not that surprised. The marriage was a much better deal for him than for her, and it was a real act of duty for him. I’m glad that he eventually grew to love her. He really was an excellent Prince Consort, supporting and advising her honestly.

I got so caught up in Queen Victoria's wedding scene that when 'the reception' came on, I thought "wh..what..." lol

lol I love how they both played this. like albert is going "holy shit...I need a moment." and Victoria is totally calm and happy until he doesn't smile back. ands then she's thinking "does he not like me?" and the poor boy is just trying not to have a full on panic attack.

For some reason, this looks much older than 2001.

I was thinking that, too. It looks like the 1979 Pride and Prejudice. Weird lighting, shadows...

From this union, there would be 9 children, 40 grandchildren, 88 great grandchildren and thousands more individual and not to mention most of the royal families throughout Europe.

THATS WHY THEY CALL VICTORIA THE “GRANDMOTHER OF EUROPE”

The woman playing Victoria is currently playing Elizabeth the (semi-) evil Queen Mother in The Crown. (And she is MUCH TOO thin to be doing so , I believe!)

True, I was shocked when I saw her. The queen mum had a very wide and round face, while Victoria Hamilton has the most narrow face I've ever seen.

S Ranran , yes. In reality Lord M was 40 years older than her and obese. It was a father daughter relationship. I did a term paper on Victoria and the historical inaccuracies in the Masterpiece Theater series really get on my nerves.
