The Hornig city lids are great. I use them for years now and still very happy.
Love Hornig products ... they are high quality 👌
Great video ... thanks guys ... keep it up 👍
Our pleasure!
Very impressed, they look great 👍
Look perfect to me - when filtering you can get through gaps smaller than the mirrors. Depends on the height of the obstacle and with a bit of wiggling you can get through. Can't wiggle your panniers though and that's where these come into play.
Have to agree with you guys. For that money you should get a perfect fit and color option. I prefer to scratch the panniers on my new RT and have them repainted. Good demo though! 👍
Actually I agree this is a great alternative option and thanks for bringing it to our attention, certainly a first to the best of my knowledge much appreciated 👍
love the video guys, have you thought about applying a vinyl wrap to your doors? quicker and easier than painting.
Sort that Garage out Toby, your normally so clean and tidy....that garage needs some serious TLC....!!! 😊😊😊😊🏍🏍🏍🏍
hahahaha, I know, lots going on but hopefully soon it will look so much better 🤣
BMW used to sell narrower lids themselves. I think they called them City Case lids.
Looks really good 👍
Is there any adjustment on the prongs to allow you to cinch the lids closer to the main body of the panniers
Great idea but for that price I would expect them to come painted to match!
same here
There is no performance change to the RTP at all, having ridden my work bike and then my own 1250 RT, they are the same, even down to the handling and cornering, it just wears a different suit. I asked BMW about the RTP panniers and they wont put them on the Civvy version, mores the pity, because they have to be bolted on with the crash bars in the factory and it would change the angle they sit at. Well thats what the BMW mechanic said, could also be a price thing.
I just installed those and they do not seal, put a flashlight inside and close them you see light almost all the way around, also there is no weatherstripping on the bottom edge of the lids.
I noticed that a little although have ridden in rain and had no leakage :)
Rattle can paint them just take your time 👍
The widest part on the standard bike are the mirrors.
yep they are, although these do reduce the panniers a little
Guys I like to watch your vids but you really need to sort out the sound as your recordings are really quiet!!! ~ so when I turn up the volume and an advert cuts in the sound is so loud compared to what your setting are.
Noticed that too. Sound on my phone needed to be maximized.
ok thanks for the info, will sort that out....eek!
The plastic doesn’t match the rest of the pannier looks abit odd, maybe 🤔 they need a full rap.
These look like the ones on Police spec bikes.
What is the point of theese if the original panniers are not wider then the mirrors which are the widest part of the bike?
You spend not a small amount of money, plus more for paint and the end result is less spacs for stuff... now you can't even stick a helmet in them.
Money (your 😀) well spent 🙂
they are a great option if your not touring etc and want to have slimmer panniers of course. Never use the pannier for my helmet anyway, but saw them and thought we would get a set to show people.
