Churches often make it a high value to make everyone feel welcome and accepted. New people come into the services but don't know anyone. Many churches have a welcome team who's job it is to contact new people, usually by phone call. In our example, however, we are combining that role with the role of Bible Study leader. Why do this? We do this because it also gives Bible Study Leaders contacts to recruit into small groups. The new congregant, by having their first contact be a Bible Study leader, makes a new friend and gets exposure to the Bible Study as well.
