OOI Trip is a girl and an "armoured Lizard" or Sungazer, which they're obviously playing on by having her wear actual Armour. I'm guessing when she turns and you unlock her as a playable character she ditches the armour. Good Merch potential for both forms. I'm guessing they're going to do something similar to the Babylon Rogues where the reptilian Mobians are connected to these Islands, so I wouldn't be surprised if we see Espio or Vector referenced somehow, with the "Big Bad" being some kind of Dragon. It seems the emphasis of the Sonic series as a whole is exploring the connection various ancient species have with the Emeralds and maybe explaining a bit more about how Sonic's world got to be the way it is.
Having read up some more, I think you could be right Trip is the "Avatar" and might actually become the game's final boss if unintentionally, a bit like Gemerl. I still think she's going to end up an Ally/playable character though, so maybe not necessarily the dragon pictured, maybe they'll do a Final Story where you play as her a bit like Update 3 for Frontiers.
She's probably named after Triple Trouble so they could be hinting she's actually multiple personalities, or maybe just inspired by multiple characters like Emerl and Belle at the same time, to be their Classic equivalent. I also think that unfortunately she'll be one-off and gone, she'll probably do some self-sacrifice beat. BUT on the other hand she might get a line voiced by Korone Inugami. Korone has been collaborating on promo for anime and games, the design seems to match, and Korone got a spiky fluffy tail alternative on her model recently. That could be something they made for fun to match Trip based on its timing.

Trip's armour definitely bears a resemblance to the armour of the figures in the mural; she's definitely got some relation to them. And with the flowers and the large snake as well, there's some kind of connection she has to it all (like empathic connections?) - were the people in the murals ancestors of hers? Protectors of the island and all its life?
Well I'd say Fang won't become good... because he's basically Rouge before Rouge. Like an anti Rouge? Like Deadpool vs Wolverine? Thought about this on the like 15th replay of the Triple Trouble remake. Fang is in it for the money like Rouge, both have associations with the color purple, both are anti heroes because of their treasure hunting and desire for money. So I could see Fang joining the heroes side... but unlike Rouge, whom I think is more on the side of good nowadays, Fang is still more so on the darker side of the spectrum, willing to go to any lengths, if Eggman back stabbed him like the Chaotix in Heroes, like Rouge in A2, etc so many other people he'd flip the switch quick, buuuut still willing to go to that side of the spectrum if Eggman throws out another deal his direction. Also probably helps he got a neat little hover car, while Rouge didn't get jack from Eggman lol. So for this I could see Fang being possibly playable... but story wise, in a Mania or Superstars 2, or whatever comes next, he'll probably just be evil again.
Trip is actually a Sungazer Lizard (what some call an armored lizard thus the helmet) but more importantly Trip's a girl. I think her betrayal will be a mix of Eggman ruining nature that she seems to love and Fang just being a jerk (seriously in most depictions I've seen of him Fang is not much more than a mean guy who just helps Eggman for the money). Trip looks to me like the latest attempt to get another girl join the core four and make them a five-man band. Rouge is too close to Team Dark, Cream's personality while good doesn't leave a lot of room for conflict, Sticks was cool but Sonic Boom had a mixed reception, Tangle was a nice but she fits better with Whisper and Lanolin as a trio. The problem I see with Trip in this is that since Superstars is back in the classic era it leaves a lot of questions as to where she has been, I don't think this will land, heck it took years for Amy to be on the same level as Sonic, Tails and Knuckles.

I think Trip's gonna turn into that purple monster by anger after getting all emeralds (to get revenge on Eggman for all the damage he did to Northstar Islands), probably a "normal" final boss (without having to collect all the Emeralds to see it, as Super Tails, Knuckles and Amy are not really canon and appear only for gameplay reasons), and Fang will be helping you somehow during or before the fight starts.
in main menu screen of sonic superstars there is free space for another character i think at some point of the story how you said trip (wich is girl btw) will join sonic and become playable ( i think she will remove the armor and that would be the point we can play as her) and from that point everytime you start game she will appear in main menu screen
I just hope the chaos emeralds make sense, and lore doesn't get messy again... like in Triple Trouble's case stating it's the "1st time" they met Knuckles. Especially with these new emerald powers, why in the 30 years have these not been shown before? Being a classic game too, why has nothing been seen after? We see the can grow flowers in 1, then in 2 give super forms, 3&K they can grow in size and power to make hyper forms, then by Adventure 2 to 06 they are controlling time like the Time Stones. Personally would prefer they just make new mcguffins, or expound on the Phantom Ruby that's... probably going to be tossed aside and ignored now, but hey if they make it make sense it's fine.

Hope Fang gets used more. I imagine he was and will remain a minor enemy that isn't under Eggman but works for him on occasion. A Badnik for hire essentially. Can't imagine him being made into a good guy but Rouge was a similar character initially so I guess? I'd prefer him being neutral leaning toward evil or "sides with the highest bidder".

... I mean... I don't think Chaos is out of the realm of possibility, Chaos was after all mentioned originally in 3's manual, albeit unnamed. Now I don't think Chaos will, just saying... not out of the realm of possibility, and in fact that's why Knuckles is so quick to join Eggman, thinking the big metal rock from the sky (the death egg) was the giant dragon egg prophesized about. Again doesn't mean he will, just saying, of any possible Adventure connection to tie this from the past classic games to modern (of which Sonic 4 was trying to do as well if anyone remembers), Chaos would probably be the only one.

Trip is actually a Sungazer Lizard (what some call an armored lizard thus the helmet) but more importantly Trip's a girl. I think her betrayal will be a mix of Eggman ruining nature that she seems to love and Fang just being a jerk (seriously in most depictions I've seen of him Fang is not much more than a mean guy who just helps Eggman for the money). Trip looks to me like the latest attempt to get another girl join the core four and make them a five-man band. Rouge is too close to Team Dark, Cream's personality while good doesn't leave a lot of room for conflict, Sticks was cool but Sonic Boom had a mixed reception, Tangle was a nice but she fits better with Whisper and Lanolin as a trio. The problem I see with Trip in this is that since Superstars is back in the classic era it leaves a lot of questions as to where she has been, I don't think this will land, heck it took years for Amy to be on the same level as Sonic, Tails and Knuckles.

I think Trip's gonna turn into that purple monster by anger after getting all emeralds (to get revenge on Eggman for all the damage he did to Northstar Islands), probably a "normal" final boss (without having to collect all the Emeralds to see it, as Super Tails, Knuckles and Amy are not really canon and appear only for gameplay reasons), and Fang will be helping you somehow during or before the fight starts.

in main menu screen of sonic superstars there is free space for another character i think at some point of the story how you said trip (wich is girl btw) will join sonic and become playable ( i think she will remove the armor and that would be the point we can play as her) and from that point everytime you start game she will appear in main menu screen

I just hope the chaos emeralds make sense, and lore doesn't get messy again... like in Triple Trouble's case stating it's the "1st time" they met Knuckles. Especially with these new emerald powers, why in the 30 years have these not been shown before? Being a classic game too, why has nothing been seen after? We see the can grow flowers in 1, then in 2 give super forms, 3&K they can grow in size and power to make hyper forms, then by Adventure 2 to 06 they are controlling time like the Time Stones. Personally would prefer they just make new mcguffins, or expound on the Phantom Ruby that's... probably going to be tossed aside and ignored now, but hey if they make it make sense it's fine.

I imagine he was and will remain a minor enemy that isn't under Eggman but works for him on occasion. A Badnik for hire essentially. Can't imagine him being made into a good guy but Rouge was a similar character initially so I guess? I'd prefer him being neutral leaning toward evil or "sides with the highest bidder".
Agreed. Part of Fang's appeal is that he is an actual enemy besides Eggs or at least a neutral fiend+being a Mobian enemy. I don't want that to be ruined for the sake of having yet another animal buddy for Sonic.
Not to go all "Sonic's stupid friends" I like most Sonic chars, I just think Fang's morals and position in the series are unique.

... I mean... I don't think Chaos is out of the realm of possibility, Chaos was after all mentioned originally in 3's manual, albeit unnamed. Now I don't think Chaos will, just saying... not out of the realm of possibility, and in fact that's why Knuckles is so quick to join Eggman, thinking the big metal rock from the sky (the death egg) was the giant dragon egg prophesized about. Again doesn't mean he will, just saying, of any possible Adventure connection to tie this from the past classic games to modern (of which Sonic 4 was trying to do as well if anyone remembers), Chaos would probably be the only one.

I mean it isn't explicitly stated to be chaos, but it can be inferred from the events of SA1, with Chaos' ties to the Knuckles clan, that it turns into a giant water monster like a dragon, a leviathan, that it was Chaos. In the original Japanese manual, a translation of the Knuckles section... sorry going to be a lot to read lol. I'll put a 1* before the paragraph that's most important.
