That’s not true. For my 2nd flight I flew on Pan Am in 1972. After that I wanted to be an air traffic controller. I would sit in my backyard watching planes fly by all day long. I love flight simulators but have no desire to be a pilot.
I've always wanted to be a pilot, since I was 5 years old. But my dream will never come true because my eyes are really bad and I have some health issues. But I've always wanted to work on a plane because I just love it so much! I decided to become a flight attendant and I hope that will work. Being on a plane makes me feel safe and being up in the air makes me free, it's the most beautiful feeling in the world. You inspire me, thank you for this video!
If you have enough eyesight to be flight attendant you have enough to be a pilot, you don't need to have perfect 20/20 vision to be a pilot you can wear glasses and still be a pilot.
I wear some gnarly contacts/glasses and am a student pilot. Depending on what your health issues are, you may still be able to fly. Contact your local FAA registered doctor and see what they recommend. Best of luck!

Very nice video! I have worked in the industry since 2002 and the best part of it has been talking to pilots. They always have time to talk for few minutes, especially if it's about flying and airplanes! Recently talked with a pilot who was transitioning to the 777-3 and he was a ball of energy. You could tell this was a big deal for him. Gotta love the passion. Thank you for everything you do to get us to our destinations on time and safely. Really enjoy your channel and, please, keep it up!

I'm 18 right now and it's hard to see my dreams flying away(about -5 dioptris on my sight), especially if you spend more than 5 hours daily thinking, learning, dreaming about this, just can't live without it.. But I most probably wont become a pilot anyway sadly :(. at least I start my glider training this year, can't wait for it! Maybe a sad accent on this magnificent video.. anyways Thanks a lot once again for sharing it! Enjoy flying! :)

I am so sad to hear that you won´t fly commercially, but I envy you for taking your glider certificate. That for me is real flying and I wish I had my license. Not sure about that, first I have to classify myself to such an surgery (not everyone could be), and even though it could be done, the question is if it's gonna stay stable after the surgery.. but as for now.. when i have to make decisions about my future.. flying isn't even an option sadly.. I love how gentle you are with the yoke! I've seen so many really grab it and hold it so hard, and of course, everyone has their way of doing things, but I really liked the way you hand flew her! Nice and gentle, small inputs! Hopefully I'll sit in a cockpit myself one day. I've always wanted to be a pilot, got thousands upon thousands of hours in flight sim, and I love it to peaces! I can not live without aviation. It's more than a hobby for me. Non aviators sometimes ask me how I can sit for so many hours straight, and just look out of the windows while in cruise, but I just find it so fascinating and beautiful! I have some problems that stop me from getting the class 1 medical, and it's heartbreaking. People say "just think of another job" or "What about being an air traffic controller". I've always wanted to do ONE job, and ONE job only: Commercial Pilot. Hopefully everything will get sorted, and I'll be sitting there up front some day. When I'm flying, I always go out and say hi to the flight crew if they have the time. It's so funny seeing their faces when you come out (for example on a transatlantic flight) and ask what NAT track we're on today. Once after we landed and I went up there and told my story, they gave me the now useless flight plan and asked me to tell them what all the information was. It was so fantastic, and they where impressed. For me flying is not just a metal tube in the sky, or a form of transportation. It's a way of life. It's freedom. If you're still reading, thank you. I really enjoyed the video, and I hope you enjoy being in the worlds most beautiful office (I know you do, because other vice you wouldn't be there :) ) Cheers, Marcus

Hi :) Thank you. This one I flew manually until after our acceleration passing FL100. Sometimes I connect the automatics straight away and sometimes it´s nice to hand fly a bit, when weather is perfect as this it´s a too good of opportunity not too.

SpectralGamer You're allowed to fly with eye problems, But you need to have glasses with you on duty. -Emirates Pilot
SpectralGamer It depends. In Singapore you're not allowed if your pre-operation vision is > ±5.00 dioptre.

Why are you first staring the APU, and afterwards doing a fire test? What if the APU fire indicator is inoperative?
