  • In this video, I talk about how to apply to a Master's course in the UK, more specifically at Imperial College London. If you're wondering whether a Master's is for you, how to choose a suitable course, if there's a difference between a MSc and MRes, then this video is for you! I also give a pretty detailed guide on how to make your CV stand out, including tips on both CV appearance and content. Because my background is in biomedical sciences, most of the examples I give may be more related to biology and scientific research. Regardless, I hope this video is somewhat helpful to you and best of luck in your Master's application!

    thanks for the video! I’m a final year biochemistry student, but sadly I was not able to get any lab experience/ research internship due to covid, are lab experiences essential for masters application?

    • @biomedwithvy
      @biomedwithvy  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I wouldn't say it is essential because I've had coursemates from various backgrounds too (ie doctors, pharmacists etc.) personally, I think it's more important to state how this master's will benefit you and also mention the relevant skills you have, which can be transferable or interest in the subject!

    Thank you, I gained a lot of useful tips about CV. I am wondering I have submitted all of required supporting documents and have not received any confirmed email, Is it normal? And Is it ok to edit the document after submitted?

    • @biomedwithvy
      @biomedwithvy  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Glad it was helpful 😊 I can't remember if I received a confirmation email but on your application portal, as long as it says that everything is submitted and received, then that should be fine! It might take somewhere around a few weeks to a month or so to process. Unfortunately, after you have submitted any document, you can't resubmit it 😅 All the best in your application!

    Hi, thanks for the video! Do we need to apply from UCAS as well for MSc?

    • @biomedwithvy
      @biomedwithvy  10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      No, for MSc you apply directly to the university! There's sometimes a fee you need to pay to submit your application.

    Love this again! I have my interview tomorrow for an MSc course at Imperial, do you have any tips or advice? ☺️

    • @biomedwithvy
      @biomedwithvy  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      If they asked you to read a paper for the interview then I definitely recommend understanding the concept behind the methods and any notable results/discussion points. If you don't know the answer, say what you do know and talk through your thought process!
      If it's a more general interview, they will most likely pick out something from your CV or personal statement (usually a project you are currently working on). Treat it almost like a chat and answer honestly.
      Congrats on getting shortlisted and all the best!

    Do you have any scholarships from Imperial for your master's degree? Are there 100% scholarships for master's degrees?

    • @biomedwithvy
      @biomedwithvy  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I got a scholarship to do my MSc (it was funded by my undergrad as they had leftover funds from research projects). There are scholarships you can search for based on your tuition fee status, check out the Imperial Fees and funding page to check if they offer specific scholarships for your background/nationality.
