Never underestimate the loyalty of your dog. When I go to work I know my family are safe because of dogs. To look after a dog properly isn’t cheap and exercise is not a luxury it’s a necessity but it’s worth every penny and minute. My gratitude goes out to all service dogs and handlers including assistant dogs for PTSD trauma and a multitude of other endeavours they undertake.
I spent most of my adult life on the Army 3 years as an PMC , I know without a Shadow of a doubt , I wouldn't have had a chance to be a father without K9s... seeing this brought tears to my eyes
These brilliant and brave dogs deserve a proper rank and a pension on retirement. True heroes who have saved a huge number of lives. Benno’s story with Colin Macpherson is stunning. He died in action and went out a true hero
Utmost respect for these dogs and their warrior handlers. The bond is unbreakable. Just had to put my 12yo retired greyhound....watching these give me some peace.
And these Hero Dogs know so damn well that their work/training is so important and they really look so disciplined and proud when "at work" its incredible!!
Being a K9 unit is the best job in the universe! Knowing they always have your back and love you more than they love themselves is beyond anything we will ever be able to explain. There is only one truly heart breaking, soul destroying part. Saying good bye.
Damn, i remember when i got Yukon. I saw all those videos, those photos, of military K9s. I was so amazed with them. I still am. I remember how i wanted to make her just like those dogs. Disciplined, respectful, brave. I am a lover of warfare, the brotherhood it brings, and all that. Yet i love dogs just as much. So i got Yukon, a pure breed german shepherd. Now, sadly, i know she wont ever be like those dogs, she wont ever fight or save lives.. Screw that, she will fight and save lives in different ways. I respect the army of all people, i respect the people and animals serving with them. And one day, i wish to become a tank operator or K9 handler in tje Canadian Corps. Cheers mates!
