    The secret of the pros is they never try to hold their aim motionless. Get familiar with your heartbeat and wobble and know by heart when your trigger will break. Accept your wobble path and discover it's unique repeatable pattern and learn to recognize the few moments before when your cross hairs will intersect the bullseye. If your sights on the bullseye, it is too late, don't try to chase the bullseye, don't try to stay on it. Just recognize your wobble pattern and wait for the next opportunity for that moment right before you cross bullseye again. Then learn your trigger and have it break the same exact moment when the sights are on the bullseye. Work is done with sights approaching the bullseye, not while on the bullseye.

    The main problem I have experienced regarding your last point (timing your trigger pull with your unavoidable movement) is "jerking" the trigger when I attempt to fire the gun at the precisely correct moment. I find that for me, at least, my shots group much better when I concentrate on minimizing motion as much as possible, squeezing the trigger, and let the gun fire at whatever point it will in my motion pattern. I might add that sometimes when it fires I think I probably missed the entire target, only to find on closer inspection that the bullet hit the bull's eye. Obviously that is the exception rather than the rule, but as I said, I do get better groups this way.

    Been shooting uspsa production for about 8 years, and I’ve finally purchased an AR and am starting a new adventure. I’m looking for all the advice I can find. Thanks

    Using a two-point sling in a "hasty sling" is another great way to improve accuracy.

    You can look at the published ballistic coefficient for .30 pellet then go to pyramid air and use their calculator to see fpe at 225.

    What upper is that? The milling is awesome.

    Do you change aming eye when shooting with your weak hand? (with iron sights)

  • @joenic4303

    FPE is 34 at target-very respectable. Assumptions: BC .071, 900 FPS at muzzle, 44 grain

    Offhand no less. That speaks to you more than the gun.

    Good foregrip position for a scope. For a lot of irons, that postion will completely block your view.

    I agree with the pattern shooting. But, do you slap the trigger as soon as you're on target or squeeze as you're starting to acquire the target ?

    Thanks. I learned something. One more thing is the weight of the rifle in relation to shooter's strength. For me is under 5lb.

    Now, do all of that with a rifle that fires .300WM or higher.

    What does "off-hand" mean? I'm going to a rifle match on Sunday and this whole time I'm thinking that I have to shoot standing up with my left hand.

    • @jackcozad6345
      @jackcozad6345 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      This confused me at first too. But as far as I can tell, offhand is just using a standing position without sling support. I think of it as "off of your hands" vs off a benchrest, off a sandbag, prone, etc.

    • @carpingnyland8518
      @carpingnyland8518 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      That took me forever to get straight. I always equated "off" and "weak" when it came to hand. Come to find out that you can shoot "off hand" with either your strong hand or weak hand.

    • @schneir5
      @schneir5 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@carpingnyland8518 right on, I haven't shot my rifle in forever, but I just built another AR and also I got another stripped lower and upper that I haven't built yet. I want to get a lightweight 18" or 20" barrel and long Mlok handguard. I can use my Bushnell AR scope on that and keep my Vortex Spitfire prism sight on my short pistol AR.
      PSA has a nice blemished AR set that includes everything but the stripped lower, including an 18" barrel and long Mlok handguard and a nice Vortex scope mounted on it for like $700. It looks pretty sweet.

    All of the weight saving nonsense on that gun and still an unused section of pic rail at the end for a buis. lol.

    you're obviously not engaging a moving target

  • @jamesroot9323
    @jamesroot9323 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    That is not the proper use of the Empty Chamber Indicator. The stem needs to engage the chamber and bore to ensure that there is no cartridge in the chamber.
