I found these pull cord fire starters at the general store at the camp ground in Lake Erie I was staying at last year, r they expensive most definitely did I buy a few I sure did only cause I had freshly unseasoned firewood so I wanted to give it a try and the first one was a failure more so on my end I guess I yanked the cord way to hard and it snapped to find out you take all the tension out of the cord and apply pressure till it pops and wow I never had a fire starter actually dart wood that was that wet without any issue I just ordered a 30 pack of these as well as I wanted to try some other cheaper fire starters ordered a couple cans of pyro putty and black beard fire starters so I’ll be good on fire starters for a few good years.

They are expensive, but I carry them on my kayak for emergencies and one in my truck!
