  • This is my love letter/review to the best Panzer III kit ever made. I plan to build this for a group build coming up so I thought I'd look at it with you fine people. This kit is just about as perfect as a kit can get. Still easy to find on ebay affordably as well.

    Great review - and damn that's a lot of decal options. That said, considering how the Germans marked their vehicles, I would say you can use any number together with any tank, as long as they are in the "right" color; the big numbers denote company/platoon/tank, in that order, and as long as you make a vehicle from the same organization chart (Pz Div to Pz Div for example), any number will work. The same goes for divisional markings, especially considering the pretty wild mix and match the Germans did when repairing their tanks, cannibalizing other tanks in the process - a long gun on a tank without spaced armor in Stalingrad is not that far fetched actually. Ofc, divisions can't be changed - SSLAH were never in Africa for example.

    I think this is exactly what my Cyberhobby White Box Ausf.J is minus the old Borgward and the radio-turret-basket thing. I think I'll be building this one for the GB as well! Looks like an epic kit

    I made this one with E.T/Aber photo-etch kits, it was wonderful, with no problems at all. very happy with how the kit turned out. In places I didn't bother with PE, the detail was fine anyway!

    Thanks for this lengthy and informative kit review. You may have kick started my MoJo. I suggest you re emphasize the use of "scale mates", as it really helped me differentiate the various Dragon kits and separate the good (new) kits from the bad (old) Dragon kits. I have successfully dumper all my old Imperial kits.

      +Martin Collmer Glad to help Martin. And very glad to hear you've gotten rid of the not so great kits. I forget to mention scalemates. I use it so often I forget other people might not. Good call.

    I built this over the last year. It was my first Dragon kit. I loved it but it was a big challenge to my limited modelling skills. When I get my courage I will commence 6265. Anyway this is an awesome kit.

    It's your fault. After watching all your reviews I got the Dragon itch, a friend of mine helped me scratch it at a very good price, Pzkpfw III Ausf. J (TP) (which I will also do a review on, just because it's my first Dragon kit) and all I can say is...yeah, you are right, it's a different world. Fidelity. Detail. Quality. I can't wait to start working on it!

      +Adam Mann Just received my 6394 kit yesterday and all in all the kit looked like it is in good condition. The box was even shrink wrapped (bought from Scalehobbyist). However that glossy pamphlet "Inside Story" was not in the box. I'm not going to lose sleep over that.

    Hi Adam, hope you and family are all well. Just a quick question on this model, tracks, friulmodel yes no ? if yes, which ones ? I’ve managed to get this kit recently purely on your recommendation, so thank you for that as I must agree with you that it’s stunning, a very beautiful model which I think friulmodel tracks would just finish it of nicely. But which ones ?
    Sincerely hope you’re well and look forward to hearing from you soon.
    Kenny.

    Is this about the 50th Panzer III kit from Dragon??? With all the different variants and other vehicle built on this chassis, there are a lot of kits with this basic hull.

    • @AdamMann3D

    Great review - you mention this as possibly Dragons best Panzer III kit - I think you said that kit# 6320 was their best Stug III kit.... Any chance you make a video of the top Dragon kits for each of the Panzers in your opinion and why? Possibly with runners up?

    • @AdamMann3D

    Do you know what differences between the two sturminfanteriegeschutz 33 kits are? 6713 and 6749. Supposedly 6749 is better, but the text reviews I found weren't very specific on why.

    • @AdamMann3D
      @AdamMann3D  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Erich von Manstein You know I don't. I'm shopping for one myself and can't really tell what's different.

    • @AdamMann3D
      @AdamMann3D  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Erich von Manstein Eric if you act quickly and are in the US 6713 is on Daily Deal at Dragonusaonline for $33 today only. Just bought one.

    • @traffic800
      @traffic800 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Adam Mann Haha, that is why I was asking you. The 6749 kit is also on sale for $30 because of their April sales. You should also check their Tunisian Initial Tiger. It is only $30 right now, which is even better than daily deal price because dailys are always half off and normal price is 80.
      If you are interested, there is a pattern with the deals. They almost always have at least one dragon 1/35 kit on sale. I only have been watching the 1/35 kits, but they always go in increasing order. But they sometimes skip a kit. They always skip figure kits, but they even skip certain vehicle kits. I have been watching the kit number increase every day, so I knew when to expect the ones I wanted, but they skipped some I wanted. They were in 6500's a few weeks ago and they skipped the Firefly Ic 6568. I haven't figured out yet how they choose which get skipped.

      +Adam Mann Nice review, It's quite the coincidence from my part, as I had just received this model about a week ago, and I don't order that many.

      I've previously built the Dragon Pz. Kpfw. IV Ausf. H Late production, and I know these Pz IV's and Pz. III's kits are very similair in construction, initial release dates and quality, but to me that kit feels equal, if not even more impressive, The metal schürzen, extra T-34 spare tracks to model a specific photographed vehicle, aswell as the relative ease at which it went together, made that my personal favourite.
      Such a shame we're having to delve into the company's history to find good models, instead of looking forward to new releases.

      Anyways, appreciate the in-depth content as always :P
