Some more of great JackieWilson & this was sedate! The TV of those days did not let black men do too much suggestive dancing, but u can see how graceful he is. Look at his Moonwalk. 1958 30 yrs b4 Michael took it.
@k29137 If you think his moves here were something, they're NOTHING compared to what he did live. I saw him perform once and he whipped that audience into a frenzy (black and white alike). He did splits, twirled his jacket around in the air like he was going to throw it into the audience and the girls went crazy trying to grab for it. What a show. One that I will never forget.

Wow, what great memories I have of watching Jackie Wilson when I was a kid. He was a terrific singer and dancer. Lots of people have copied his "moves" (i.e. Michael Jackson). But Jackie was cooler than his mimics. Very smooth and very talented. Too bad he died so young.
In 1975 J.W.got a hearth attack on stage when he sang:..my hearth is bleeding...in the song Lonely Teardrops. He was in coma more than 8 years. Elvis visited him in hospital severel times, and when he found out that J.W. was broke, he paid all his hospital bills until Wilsons death. I hope they Rock together in heaven !
His performances is one of the reasons that generation became so corrupt, they descended into degeneracy of the 60s and 70s not to mention, he and others like him were pioneers and paved the way to even greater corruption of the latter decades by other artists, actors, entertainers etc.
Elvis presley could not have paid all of Mr. Jackie Wilsons hospital bills because Presley died in 1977 and Mr. Wilson left this earth to rest in power in 1984. Mr. Dick Clarke a true Friend of this stand alone legend, payed Jackie's bills up until his passing.
Oh yeah, you can see Jackie Wilson in Elvis Presley. Every song and dance in a movie, you could see jackies moves no doubt. Great artist taken away to soon.

Mr. Style: no sense in starting war over this. You are entitled to support whatever talent makes you happy! I guess I am a harsh judge of MJ, besides not caring for his voice I detest the way he relates to kids, and yes, I know I am judging. We are all, judges sir. we just do our best to get thru this life as we can. I thank the person who put up these great and rare tapes of Jackie Wilson. One of the most talented people of my lifetime.
That's not the moonwalk. That's the Wilson shuffle. The Moonwalk is a smooth linear movement. Mastered by the late great Michael Jackson. Taught to him by Jeffrey Daniel's of Shalamar fame in 1980. Daniel's said he taught Micheal the moonwalk. Back slide whatever you want to call it. And Michael sat on it until that unforgettable performance at Motown 25 in 1983. And nothing was ever the same after that.
wow!!! what a talented man....just a pity i just discovered him today...01:52 2015...on the eve of christmas ...of 2015...Anyway Almighty Father has blessed many with good singers...Amen
I don't understand why people need to criticize MJ so much on every Jackie Wilson video. MJ was great, an icon, and a legend, and so was Jackie. Leave it at that. And please don't ever call stepping backwards a moonwalk again. If your feet aren't gliding, it's not a moonwalk, you are literally walking backwards.
Agree they were both amazing talents. And we are fortunate to have had them both in this world. It's all over the internet and I'm sick of it too Elvis vs Michael. Michael vs James Bromw. Elvis Jamee Brown. Jackie vs the kitchen sink. ENOUGH ALREADY!!!!!!!!🚲 They were all great. And all played their part in making our lives richer and more exciting.
It's great to see any footage of Jackie, but you don't really get a sense of how explosive a performer he was. His routines were so sexually charged that he was forced to tone them down for TV appearances.
