My wife waited to watch Barbie because everyone she talked to said it was actually good. I watched it with her. She keot saying, "People thought this was good? Remember when you knew you were in a for a great time when you bought tickets for a marvel movie? Remember when it was a event?
The event stopped with me during Endgame, when they had the Hulk serving Tacos and throwing a bench across the lake. They place this lame characterization of The Hulk in an otherwise epic movie, and of course insert two political commercials as well. Endgame could have been epic perfection, but instead they went for personal agendas and destruction and misuse of one of the greatest characters in Comics History. As a Hulk fan, it would have been great if the real Hulk had flattened the Army of Thanos, while the others fought Thanos, but no, they even took away the Hulk's instant healing factor.
The last Thor movie sucked. Who wants to see a heartbroken Thor who loses his hammer to his ex.

Unfortunately my wife works at Dland. Went last night for her 10 yr anniversary which they did nice I admit. But man the place gives me the chills. Just knowing what they now stand for and seeing all the workers there and noticing the different types they had. Disney execs are slowly rotting our kids brains and they think nothing of it. I mourn the loss of Marvel. I read their comic books back in the 60s. Stan Lee was great. You wouldn't catch me reading a DC comic. I'm 70 now and am sad of what has become of my favorite comic book company.

In 2015, it was painfully clear to me that Disney was going to mess Star Wars up, but nobody wanted to listen when I spoke my opinion. Fans flocked to JJ Abrams and made The Farce Awakens a gigantic hit, knowing full well that this idiot had just ruined Star Trek. Star Wars fans got what they deserved because they are slaves to the name brand and could not walk away from the garbage no matter how much it stunk.

I thought the first two JJ Abrams Star Trek movies were pretty good. Then they threw it off a cliff with the third movie. Same thing with the MCU. The first set of movies were pretty good. Then they trashed the whole thing. Disney Star Wars was junk from the start. It made the prequels look brilliant.

For Marvel, up until End game (with the exception of one or two movies) there were the good guys and the bad guys. The humanity of the good guys showed that even they weren't perfect, and the bad guys all were flawed due to experiences many in the audience could relate to.
Somewhere along the way, Disney/Marvel decided that the bad guys no longer were in the movie, but they were in the audience. Nobody will pay money to go sit through 2 hours of beratement.

I saw this last Saturday. The wokeness wasn't an issue, terrible casting of untalented non-humourus actors, a dopey story and scripting that felt it was written by AI regurgitating every previous cliched 'joke'. It was so terrible I didn't even notice the 'inclusive' casting, the cast could have been a harem of seals and I wouldn't have realized It, the film put me deep in a brain numbing stuper .
Seems to be most of what I’ve heard, this movie is less offensively woke than other Marvel offerings, but also even less entertaining.
To me it’s like driving your car without oil for months then finally putting a quart in because you’re sick of hearing people telling you a car needs oil. Only now it’s to late, that quart of oil isn’t going to undo the damage already done.

I'm old. I remember my Grandmother taking me to see "Gone With The Wind" in the early 1960's and explaining it. She was born in 1884 so she had personal knowledge.
I remember my Mother taking me to see "The Sound of Music" in a city 90 miles away in 1966. Many lessons learned from that movie that had nothing to do about singing. Mom was a first generation American of 100% German descent. She was with my Father on Saipan when WW II ended.

My family and I went every Friday night to early movie. We stopped years ago nothing good to watch anymore. Makes me sad. Movies were so entertaining.
