I play Star Trek Online and I have a teir-III science cruiser and a tier-VI heavy battle cruiser named after the Stingray and the Pampanito, respectively.
It looks like the same type of submarine. According to the Wikipedia page, it was the USS Balao (the same type as USS Pampanito) en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Operation_Petticoat. Thanks for the reference
I watch this at *LEAST* twice a year (same thing with Airplane!). Love seeing the inside of the USS -Stingray- Pampanito again.

Great movie and an INCREDIBLE cast!
They couldn’t have picked a better cast
I have been on this exact submarine! The Pompino! Incredibly to see! Dr. Tim Rasico M.D.
Spoken like a true 70 year old.
Wonder if the cast of the movie return to visit the submarine from time to time.
I have been aboard this boat. Love the movie!
I have been on board this sub at pier 43 in SF.😊
This is a funny movie and I watch it once a year.
Thanks for clearing that up for me, I always thought it the USS Bowfin that acted as the USS Stingray
Great funny movie. Thanks for the tour.👍
A great comedy.
Interior shots of sub were built cause some area couldn’t be filmed inside the museum sub
I love this stupid movie!
Operation petticoat also?

Very Very very funny movie
I wish you could show the whole movie
Looks like the group of ships from Susan bay mothball fleet
what I noticed were all those just de-commed CG's in the background
Almost all had just went through NTU within the last 5 years
Thank you for that. ❤️🤍💙🇺🇲
