    Review of the Boyu cooling fan for aquarium I bought on Amazon.
    For $24us its relatively cheap aquarium fan compare to other brands.
    This is the easiest way the cool down an aquarium but also has its limit of reducing the temperature of your aquarium.
    I recommend those fans for nano aquarium only.
    But I think they also have 4 other variations: FS 55/120A/605/606 where the number of fans simply changes.

    Thank you for the review, I'm excited to see when you add corals to your tank for the competition

      Hehe, probably on Ep.14 or 15?
      Working on the 13 right now.
      One thing I struggle is how late I will start to add corals, for the final moment of the competition, end of December so around 3 months of growth will look weird >.

    I did a video with a test of a cheap fan and an expensive one. The expensive one not only seemed to want to take off, but it lowered the tank temperature dramatically.

    • @AquaSplendor
      @AquaSplendor  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Yeah I saw it, I can't remember on what volume you tested it but those fan are... well cheap 😆 but it did the job i expexted to do in 2 different tanks. But I'm sure we could find better one, after it's all about the price, i like those because of that.

    Exactly the info I wanted to know. Thank you! I might consider that pc fan set-up you built!
    I have a salamander who will escape from his aquarium unless there is a secure lid. Do you have any suggestions for cooling a tank like that?

    • @AquaSplendor
      @AquaSplendor  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hmm my cooling fan on top of a light fixture attached on ceiling is only what I can think of. I guess it depends, if the salamander can't stick to the glass and fall off than leaving a tiny space to put the fan like the one on the video is the easiest. Or maybe some hanging kit like some light that you put on the aquarium except you put fans instead of light, IDK, rambling some idea.

    • @FishuaJo
      @FishuaJo 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@AquaSplendor Hanging is a good idea. We got a grated lid so I can keep it closed and still allow evaporation, and there is a shelf right above the tank that we could probably mount the fan on!

    • @AquaSplendor

      I depends on the ambient temperature and water circulation.
      72-75 is pretty low, I would take the largest option.

    You cannot do a personal review about noise, this is absolutely wrong.
    A fish guy does care about coral bleaching and fish health and will tolerate all downsides.
    You have do ask your girlfriend, boyfriend, cat, neighbor, amorous adventure or roommate if the noise too much :-)

      @@AquaSplendor I knew it, you only tolerate the noise of your tank :-D
      Serious, i could cool my old 60 liter tank with fences easily.
      My bigger 250 redsea reefer need a chiller. For this reason I have started my tank in the summer time to see how it works. But I couldn't cool down the tank over the night. Therfore I went for a expensive chiller at this spring. At least the expensive chiller don't turn youre home in a steam sauna.

    • @AquaSplendor
      @AquaSplendor  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@neptunes_pot 15 years ago I stoped saltwater aquarium exactly because of this. I couldn't cooldown my aquarium enough and didn't want to buy a chiller since that thing just create heat in my old room (Door close).
      Which chiller did you buy?
      At the moment I rely mostly on my AC because I have 5 aquarium. (not right now since it's 21C outside)

      @@AquaSplendor I decide to get the Teco 500. The Chillers of the different companys are quite similar, but the Teco is a little bit smaller than the others. Also you are very variable at the outgoing air. At 35 degree outside the chiller cools 4 times a day. The hot air is going right in the room, no exhaust :-D
      Here in Germany are AC absolut not common :-)
      If each dollar importaint which you spend, maybe you should go with hailea.
      Or you go with a cheap fridge and a long flexible tube inside.
      Or something DIY with peltier-elements-
