      _ that's why it is nice to listen , they give the personal touch to a video . Kan you imagine only to see museums , monuments . When you put people to speak from de region , then I associate the place with real people .

    HEY GABRIEL, WHAT A NICE PERSON YOUR GUIDE IS. A PLEASURE LISTENING TO HIM, HE IS SO SOFT SPOKEN. I HAVE ONLY BEEN TO 34 COUNTRIES BUT AM STILL COUNTING AT 70 YEARS OLD. I NOW BASE MYSELF IN THAILAND AND WILL BE GOING TO INDIA AND CHINA WITH A SIDE TRIP TO TIBET THIS YEAR. I AM ALSO EXPLORING A TRIP TO THE PHILIPPINES. I MAY MAKE A TRIP TO CAMBODIA, VIETNAM AND MYANMAR.
    I LOVE TO TRAVEL AND SEE NEW PLACES. LOVE TO SEE THE WAY OTHER PEOPLE LIVE AND THEIR CUSTOMS. AT MY AGE, I DON'T GET AROUND LIKE I USED TO BUT I STILL GET AROUND. I JUST HAVE TO DO IT A LITTLE SLOWER.
    I AM THINKING ABOUT DOING A TH-cam CHANNEL MYSELF THIS YEAR. I WILL LET YOU KNOW WHEN I GET IT SET UP.

      you should come to Nepal as well if you want to increase the countries you've been to. It's close to India, cheap and absolutely stunning!

      Aamin Hassan NAPLE IS ON MY BUCKET LIST AND MAYBE I CAN FIT IT IN ON THIS TRIP. I WILL ONLY BE ABLE TO STAY THIS TRIP UNTIL MAY OF 2019. I HAVE A MENISCUS TEAR IN MY RIGHT KNEE AND HAVE DECIDED TO GET IT FIXED SO I CAN CONTINUE TO TRAVEL.
      WHEN I COME BACK TO THAILAND AFTER I HAVE MY KNEE FIXED I WANT TO FLY FROM THE EAST COAST AND MAKE A LAYOVER IN DUBAI FOR 2 OR 3 DAYS. I THINK I MIGHT MAKE SURE IT'S IN THE COOLER MONTHS.

    I'm not talking about living cost or prices or weather... I'm talking about surprise, amazing place, emotions, etc... because you have a few experience about , at least, half the world, which is the place that you would like to return to spend a week with your partner? Exploring, relaxing, etc...PLEASE, keep up the good work (SIMPLE AND CLEAR)Big Cheers Gabriel from Portugal!!!

      I think that's more or less what he was saying. Maybe for one thing because there isn't any conflict in the area. Not sure exactly.

    Would they let foreigners permanently resettle with them and intermarry etc?

    • @GabrielTravelerVideos
      @GabrielTravelerVideos  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      I have no idea. Probably it would depend on the circumstances. I doubt it happens often, although it did in the case of Lawrence of Arabia.

    Do they have their own language or just Arabic? Bedouin, I believe, were the ancient cave society at the time of Moab being a country in that area..

    • @leediaamira7421
      @leediaamira7421 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yishai Davidi they speak arabic, but of cource they speak with a dialect, a heavy jordanian dialect actually, but all arabic speaking people in general can understand each other regardless of their dialect, it's just like the english dialects(american, irish...etc).

    • @yishaidavidi8833
      @yishaidavidi8833 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Didn't they speak a different language before or from Arabic at one time?

    • @leediaamira7421
      @leediaamira7421 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yishai Davidi maybe before 2000 years ago, but when islam came they all talked arabic and that was approx 1500 years ago, beduins are the real arabs, these peoples' ancestors lived in the region since centuries. I hope i was helpful :)

    • @yishaidavidi8833
      @yishaidavidi8833 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      When exactly did the Arabic take over? We know most speaking it today had their own languages Iran & Assyria, Lebanon etc. Egypt had its own but wow, just through them out and take on one that is not your own.

    • @Fivology
      @Fivology 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yishai Davidi Iranians do not speak Arabic, they speak Farsi, their text is in Arabic alphabets only. The Bedouin’s, even pre-Islamic Arabs who built Petra and the nearby kingdoms spoke Arabic. Assyrians of today speak both their own language and Arabic. Lebanese people spoke Arabic since 4th century, before hey spoke Aramaic and Greek and their own Phoenician language. The Egyptians spoke Egyptian then after the Greeks conquered them they spoke Greek and finally when Islam came they spoke arabic.

    Good video..is it expensive for drivers to escort u

    • @GabrielTravelerVideos
      @GabrielTravelerVideos  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      It cost 50 Jordanian dinars or about $70 USD for the whole day tour including the taxi ride from Petra to Aqaba and the desert tour. That's $70 each so $140 total for the day tour. And then I tipped the desert guide another 5 dinars.

    When getting an interview get closer to the subject. We know what you look like but the focus and audio needs to be on the subject. 👍🏻

    • @GabrielTravelerVideos
      @GabrielTravelerVideos  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      I agree Rick, too bad the GoPro didn't pick up the audio better. Not the best conditions due to the wind and being outside. It sounds like it depends on what device people are using to listen, because some could hear it fine. But it would have been better louder.

    Sadly, for me, I could not understand what either guide was saying. I could hear they both knew English very well, but the tone of their voice was so low making it impossible to understand what they were sharing. I even put my ear to my computer speakers thinking it would be more understandable. Disappointing. I will purchase blue tooth speakers for future situations like this. Patrick was interesting :)

    • @GabrielTravelerVideos
      @GabrielTravelerVideos  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Dang, sorry to hear that Andi. I knew the audio wasn't ideal so I increased it a bit in editing. It seems that some people were able to hear it okay, so it might depend on what device was being used to watch this one. I could hear it okay when I was editing, but I was using earphones.
