Hemingway couldnt write a better opening line -
'We werent lost. We knew where we were, but nobody could find us.'
Have you fead Hemingway? Or even read Hemingway? I know you're only saying crap like that to get likes, even so think before you post.
Warning. Do not consume anything while watching this.
i tend to avoid such too when watching his sets, laughing my tail off
Too late (wiping beer off screen)
Too late, coffee all over my phone! 😂😂😂
Worth it
Fuck off, I'm hungry 😆
Alcohol being the exception.😊
You watch these clips of very ordinary US comics and people rave about them. Then you watch Billy. True comic genius and THE master of delivery
But the thing is - he's a teller of stories - not a comedian. He's the best ❤
@@joangordon3376 He's or was a teller of stories and a comedian. He was both.
The thing is everybody has their own taste in comedians. Comedians people rave about, comedians you may find very ordinary. I know you will find it hard to believe, but not everybody likes Billy. For me that's OK. There's nothing wrong with those people who like somebody else, they just have different tastes. There certainly is something wrong with some of the lunatics on his message boards.
Billy’s performances should be prescribed on the NHS to anyone who’s depressed or simply needs cheering up. Better than any pill any day.
Not prescribed on the NHS. I wonder why. Hmm.
I remember driving through Glasgow listening to this audio tape, I had to pull over before I had an accident due to laughs hard and the tears streaming down my face and the inability to breath
Why is it people talk about not being able to breathe, when I've seen Billy live and have never had this problem, neither have my friends. Could the people here be telling porkies? Perhaps they have emphysema. Nor have I wet my pants.
Most people have a coffee to start the day, I prefer 5 minutes of Billy.
I prefer tea. And toast. Maybe a bowl of porridge.
If you haven’t got it already, do yourselves a favour and get the “Windswept and Interesting” audiobook. This childhood memory is included.
Its not a childhood menory its an outstanding tell
of the real story but it aint his lad 🤔
Reading it at the moment - very interesting. Terribly sad childhood, it was a quite an eye opener.
Great book, finished reading it this week
I've just bought and read this. Brilliant and funny
@@theladdieallan It is a childhood memory.
Hysterical...rivalling potatoes of the night.
You Billy are a prescription for any kind of anxiety, depression or sadness! Absolutely brilliant!
Thanks Billy:)
You are so right! God bless the man
Billy Connolly is the funniest man on the planet. I was born in 1955 and I have loved and laughed at Morecambe & Wise and all those comedians from back then.Thing is, Morecambe & Wise were funny back in the old days in a gentle way. Billy Connolly pushes the boundaries in ways that M&W couldn't have dreamed of. M&W made me laugh; Billy makes me laugh until I hurt. xx

@@Wooargh does it? How do you know?
I know exactly what ya mean, Billy's comedy has helped me cheered me up and helped me through my lowest of times, to which I'm forever grateful to him for.
Billy is such an incredible storyteller. So natural and engaging. He makes it look effortless
I am crying…..I love Billy Connolly’s wonderful gift of turning everyday incidents into incredibly funny stories. Does anyone remember the one where the priest comes for tea and in the background the kids are fighting over who has more than their share of the coat…..? I could hardly breathe for laughing……
Fair enough he had a crap childhood. He could laugh at it so why can't we laugh with him?
You'll find the priest and kids scene in the middle of "An Audience with Billy Connolly" th-cam.com/video/f1LJjNIWSDs/w-d-xo.html at the 23:24 mark. He goes off on a tangent about a minute in but stick with it, he comes back to the priest bit.
@@greypilgrim228 thank you thank you thank you!!
@@duncankeary6767 Go on give it a try. Go on. Who's this we, you mean you can't laugh with him
Saw him twice at Hammersmith Odeon and Ipswich Odeon/ Gaulmont? Funniest man ever!🏴🏴❤️
The Irish, mostly Northern, often went to Western Scotland for work etc and often they would land in Anderston and stay there.
Could listen to the man telling story’s all day long
I laughed so hard some pish came out and I'm a big old grumpy bastard well into my 60s now!! Billy described my childhood here. So mad but so many funny stories. Thank you big fella for all the laughs you've given me in the past 50 years. Respect.
You are at the age where that will happen.
Brilliant for over half a century.
I'm literally crying with the laughter brilliant thank you Billy🤣🤣🤣
As opposed to figuratively.
We need more people like this to cheer this grumbling modern life up!Ok he was controversial but boy did he make us laugh at ourselves
I'm happy. If you're not that's your problem.
I'm so glad these clips are being uploaded
One of a kind there will never be another 🤣 and there never will be thank goodness hate copy cats !!! billy is who he is from the day he took his first breath til the day he take his last ! love who you are billy 🤗 Thankyou for sharing your whole life with us and making us cry with laughter you have bought joy and happiness from your beautiful soul to ours ! And many generations have and will be loving you forever that is a remarkable way to live your life 🥳cheers!!!
Pardon me there is a bucket I have to be sick in. Courtesy of Blackadder.
I am in stitches and tears here, I’m on my I-pad with sound muted, looked up and the wife’s expression just set me off again. Brilliant
Just brilliant. Great memories seeing this in the mid nineties, where have 27 years gone 🤷🏻♂️
Where have 27 years gone?
Just look in the mirror. That's where they've gone.
@@mikethespike7579 a reflection doesn't best describe the passage of time. I look a bit different, but that still doesn't account for the time going fast or slow.
Leave the comedy to Billy, he's much much better 😆👍🏻
@@shropsiberian I'm sorry, but It isn't comedy, it's the truth. And even if It was supposed to be comedy, I'm not trying to compete against Billy, it wouldn't be fair to him.
You don't notice the changes in the mirror seeing yourself every day over the years. That's why most people think they look more or less the same as years ago. It's when you compare a recent photo with one from years ago, passport photos are good for that, that's when you can't deny the changes.
@@mikethespike7579 That last paragraph was spot on.
un f…ng believable funny 😂😂😂 master of comedy
Classic connolly. One of his best bits.
that wailing cry🤗...story had me in stitches and then 2 Cumberland's 😆🤗🤗..
The story is more less true, except just 1 Cumberland was found on the street.
Love You Big Yin XXXX Take Care and Keep Safe
Here we are again. Happy as can be.
Without a doubt this is one of his best stories. I always crack up listening to it.
What a legend. I haven't laughed so much in a long time. 🤣❤🌹
Brilliant isn’t he? The way he pulls you in like kids sitting in a circle telling a story. He sucks you in making the words better and better. He makes you laugh until your stomach aches and his brain is working overtime telling us all this. How does his mind work?
Our Billy is a genius for his storytelling ability and of holding you spellbound for ages and laughing along side him at the same time. Nobody out there can touch him in any way. He’s unique 🤣🤣
What's with all the "like kids sitting in a circle telling a story" nonsense. That's not what he does at all.
Just brilliant.............still got the DVD with this on.......LOL
Windswept is a fantastic read. What a talent Billy.
I love that story.
Billy, I really hope you’re reading this.
This was one of the funniest things I’ve ever heard. I literally thought I would die laughing at this & if I did I would gladly die a happy man.
Hope you’re doing well these days btw 🙂
If there's anything I could ever say to Billy it would be that I'd happily die laughing to him, in fact I would consider it an honour!
I've been curled up on the floor because my body had let go just as he described thinking it was all over and realised I didn't care.
Just in case there's any chance you evere read these comments. Enjoy retirement Billy, you've more than earned it. It's been an absolute privilege to have shared this mortal coil at the same time as yourself.
@@Under_No_Illusion Me too.
I very much doubt he 's reading the messages.
😂🙏👍Bless you Billy. We have the same sense of humor in Northern Norway. And we swear a lot
Funny bloody man . . . . and it's funny cause it's true - well near enough!!!
Funny bloody man??
Please, please release these full shows. I’d love to see this one and The Globe. Surely it’s easy enough to do as a download and charge a few quid for the pleasure.
these are uploaded by his pr people, not by billy himself.
Absolutely brilliant Billy!!!
Got to shake this man`s hand. What a natural talent. Brilliant story teller.
Oh Billy! How funny you are!!
Brilliant.
Always put a smile on my face no matter what , his stories are legendary
Brilliant..watch it everyday!! Brilliant!!
I am currently reading his biography which was given to me at xmas by my wife. It is has funny as the excellent clips that are put on here.
Ditto. :D I read this particular one in the book a week or so ago.
Psst... what was the title of the book?
@@smoothie9931 it’s called “Windswept and Interesting “.
Did you find his childhood experiences funny?
Billy is a legend, I've never heard anyone funnier.
Thanks for that, will do ! Xxxx
LEGENDARY, doesn't even begin to describe this guy. Many thanks for a lifetime of side-splitting laughs, Big Yin. 🤣
I bet these stories are true as well!!! I remember when I got lost at 5 and I knew where I was and how to get home but somehow I had no idea where my parents were so I started crying and this couple asked me what was my parents name and in my state of stress I was like “mom and dad” and immediately felt like the dumbest kid alive!!! 😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣 and of course they stayed with me for like two minutes until my parents arrived! 🫣
Wonderful story and told very well, fast and boom boom action
He’s like the best, funniest pub bore you’ve ever shared a pint with. 🍺
2:06 “The guy driving the car, he’s snottering…” Add that word to your vocabulary!
Snotting you mean.
This better be a show one day cuz I would love to see that happen in real life cuz that I could picture in my head it's so funny
My absolute favourite of his many brilliant stories!!! 👏
Legend is such a used word now but a true legend is what billy is.laugh my balls off.
More clips, please, and this whole gig being released on dvd would be great!
You mean you'd be willing to spend money?
That pub story is like something out of Looney Toons
I don't know what Looney Tunes you've been watching.
Brilliant comedian very funny 😂😂😂😂
Love this guy sooo much! Best Scottish comic EVER!!
♥️♥️♥️
Infinite love light blessings 🙌 ✨️ 😊😅😮😢🎉😂❤❤❤❤all is shiva
Nearly peed myself, can't stop laughing
Hey Big Yin, if this was one of your "World Tour of Scotland" gigs at the Usher Hall I might have been there!
Was in the audience one of the nights - it was brilliant... laughed so much my sides hurt!
I also saw you driving down the West Port into the Grassmarket when you were filming the tour through Edinburgh...
If you've read his biography by his wife; this actually happened!!!!
Or his autobiography by himself
@@joelmacinnes2391 haven't read that yet. Didn't know if he had retread the same stories
@@MilanousMedia oh right, no bother then, I'd definitely recommend it (not sure how similar it is to his biography though, I've not read it)
@@joelmacinnes2391 its fun to see Billy through her eyes. The fact she was close to leaving, her struggles with his drinking, the fact she neber asked how big a baby he was at birth until like a week before the birth of hers and subsequently shitting herself at the answer
His wife Pamela wrote a book called Billy.
Ah, the good old days when as kids you'd end up in anyones house in the street getting fed and looked after. Sadly all gone now. Beigist bastards.
Don't use the phrase beigist bastards if you don't know what it means.
You don't know what beigist means do you.
Cool video
Bloody hilarious!!
Love Billy 😂
If aliens ever visit us, and they are nice, I hope they will see this so they will know what we humans are capable of being like....
Now I've heard everything.
ive never seen a tshirt like that for sale anywhere
Billy only had it made for himself.
He just makes me smile…. End of chat
Anderston! Back around 1986 my uncle Jim & his mates finished work on a building site, & were playing pool 🎱 in a bar at Anderston Bus Station. An IRA man, Eddie Gallagher, was "on the loose" in Glasgow & the cops were looking for him. So there's Jim, waiting to take his shot, when 2 big cops marched in & grabbed him, saying: "RIGHT, GALLAGHER." & marched him out the door. Jim was heard to say: "Gallagher?" 🤣
I'm laughing so hard I'm crying ❤😂
Yet you still managed to post this message.
@irbennett Yes, I did just love Billy.
@@Seanadun Even though you were blind and obviously want to give him one.
My Grandfather used to go for a pint! Came back after 5 or6 pints!!!😂😂😂
Well what a surprise.
As a fellow glaswegian I know these things happening and i find it amusing that people find it made up it really was the way we lived 😅😅
Funny stuff!😂😂😂
Is this Usher Hall concert available in full anywhere?
it's an extra on the World Tour Of Scotland VHS and DVD
Funny like oways
You never kick a Glasweenen out of a bar 😅😅
😃
hilarious as always, worked for a guy who had 7 kids, first 6 were girls, kept going till he got the boy, and he was the same way, always trying to get out of the house every chance he got. "i cried for the first 10 years of my life". there's a little girl who does the same thing across the street, you can hear her dad, "what are you crying about now?" or "why are you always crying?"
He never lived at the docks he lived in Dover Street.
Alex BowmanDover st only about 300 odd yards to the docks.Splitting hairs.
Dover Street is at the docks you pillock.
😂😂😂
And your dad fiddled with you. Yeah, what a great “village”
It was hardly fiddling, and that happened after they moved to Partick many years later. You're FOS.
Snoterring..????????
Snotting.
Christ 🤣
Omfg lololol
Ha ha ha
The best comedian ever! Absolute genius🤣🤣💙
Not a genius, ADHD.
@@irbennett what?? What are you on about?
Billy Connolly is the best comedian to ever have lived, he's a comedic genius.
@@jakelamotta2387 When he was examined by a neurologist and scans and tests were done, it was discovered he had an unusual brain and ADHD, the latter he passed on to one of his daughters. Apparently goes some way to explaining why he could do what he did onstage, and why he was punished so much at school as ADHD was unknown in those days. Billy is my favourite comedian. The best who ever lived, I can't say as I don't know every comedian who has ever lived.
@@jakelamotta2387 Billy has ADHD. He saw a neurologist quite recently because one of his daughters was diagnosed with the same. On examination and testing, Billy was found to have an unusual left side of the brain and ADHD (Attention Deficit Disorder). His wife Pamela thinks the same and is qualified.. Billy quite often describes himself as being on transmit and not receive. People with ADHD are impulsive and talk a lot. Whether ADHD has helped his stage act I can't say, but it would explain why he was punished so much in school (ADHD was unknown then). Which is why I quibble a lot when he's called a genius. While I think about it, you can't say Billy is the best comedian to have ever lived, because you haven't seen every comedian who ever lived. Billy is my favourite LIVING comedian, but there are three others, unfortunately passed away, who are better. In my opinion.
Nope. Sen not Son. but I have both.
😄😃🤣😄😂
I have worked out that about 12% of the posts on here are about the video, the rest are bullshit.
4:34 This'll be the same mother that walked out on you eh Billy
Yes. Billy was only 3 when this took place. His mother walked out when he was 4. I know you were hoping to make a point, but you haven't. Now piss off.
connolly has made a living by doing two things.
1 telling lies, and
2 saying fuck..
I'm not saying he's not a funny man but thats what you can whittle his act into.
And no, I won't piss off 🖕🖕🖕
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
All of these early videos just show that you should never date a budding fashion designer no matter how good the sex is. Brilliant comedy, but silly clothes.
Billy likes the clothes, he doesn't give a toss what anybody else thinks.
