This weeks video is near to my heart. I LOVE crafting... and am always trying to find a way to help others create a crafting spot - no matter WHAT size area they have! Here are some of my favorite suggestions!

I love seeing all your crafting ideas. I have searched everywhere for how to set up my craft room, but right now l am still working mostly in the kitchen. I moved into a larger home by myself mostly because l was looking at the time so many people were moving to Texas from Calif. They were going fast so l took what l could. Unfortunately my mom had just passed and trying to part with some things is not working out well. Anyway the biggest plus is l have 2 rooms that are joined together by a Jack and Jill bathroom. One is a sewing room, the other for crafts. They are painted and ready to be set up, just haven't organized anything enough yet. But one thing l have found that has helped with storing flowers is, l had gotten a few things in very long boxes that are not all that big otherwise. They are great to fill with what you have, seal them and put them in a closet, under a bed or on top of your bookcases. They hold alot and can be marked for what they are holding. Love your videos, love that there is such a sisterhood here. Appreciate your help.

I'm so sorry to hear about your Mom. If I had my RV already, I'd come help you get all set up! It sounds like a dream to have TWO rooms next to each other!!!! Please send pictures when you get it done. xoxox

Pegboard tip so helpful, thank you. You are very helpful

I have a pegboard I couldn't live without. To give the needed space behind I glued on 1" strips of wood top, bottom and across the middle. Then I added Jenga pieces I got at dollar tree in various places because pegboard will bend in a little as you add more weight to it. The other inexpensive method of storing craft supplies is to get the wire closet shelves ( you showed them here) and use s hooks to hang all kinds of plastic storage containers. You can put a hole through the plastic using the tip of your glue gun. I raided Dollar tree for their clear acrylic storage boxes to use on mine. I also use a fabric drawstring laundry bag to hold all my rolls of paper ( wrapping, brown, and so on) That hangs on my wall mounted wire shelf also.

Norrine thanks for all the new ideas. I am still decluttering and organizing so it is paying off. Even my husband started saying he liked the way the food pantry is stored in containers so everything is easier to find, imagine that. Love your ideas and all that you share from others. I see that a previous 'fan' mentioned that Craftsman has the pink chest. They usually run a special on those in October - Breast Cancer awareness Month. But, these days they have EVERY color of the rainbow, including my favorite - Purple. I've also seen people use them a movable kitchen island with butcher block on top.

I'm working on making a craft room now. Another hack is to stuff sold for 'hardware' 'fishing tackle' for whatever reason men's stuff is cheaper than women's. The exact same box labeled tackle box and craft bead storage at same store had drastically different prices. Craft one was more than 3X the cost and were literally same exact container, same manufacturer, same size.

Wow! You just reminded me of a Craftsman tool box I saw some years ago when visiting my folks in North Carolina. I was in Sears with them while they got tires and I browsed their tool department...well I saw their tool boxes in various sizes and then I saw a pink one... yup, they had a pink tool storage chest. I don’t know if they still carry them, but if anyone was interested they could check. I never thought about them for crafting. Of course I wasn’t into it so much then either. Thanks for all the ideas. 👍🏻🥰

One of my favorite pieces is an old drop-lid desk I bought at a flea market. It was HIDEOUS. At first. I repainted it off-white and "built" custom storage out of white photo boxes from Michael's. They are complete with sliding pull=outs, little drawers and tilt-out cubbies. Everything is made of cardstock, chipboard and pretty paper. I used to have a Hoosier cabinet but I moved and had to give it away. It was the Swiss Army Knife of crafting storage.
    I LOVE your videos!!!!!

    • @TheCraftyOrganizer

OMG!! I've always wanted a hoosier cabinet!!! The first one I ever saw was while I was visiting in Mississippi. It was dirt cheap - and I thought, oh.... 'I'll just get one closer to home'. NOPE! I've never seen one as nice - or anywhere NEAR as cheap. Oh well. I'd love to see what you did with your desk! Thank you so much for watching. :)

Speaking of toolboxes (genious idea by the way!), you can also get those units with lots of small drawers for sorting screws and nails and wires - they are great for metal embellishments, jewellery stuff and other small objects. These units come in lots of different sizes and can also hang on the wall; I have a medium one that I can easily pick up and carry, but it still has 30 drawers! You can also pull the drawers out like boxes and take just the ones you need to your table. These drawers are narrow, but still so long that you can also use them to store pens and markers. I got a cheap one in an ugly plastic casing, and used some contact paper with woodgrain texture to "upgrade" it. Works a charm!

thanks to ones that shared their ideas, they were great!! I've thought of a tool box, but can't bring one thru the house into the bedroom. lol I took over my oldest son's room for a sewing room. took out the bunkbed, put in 3 large 4 shelf shelving units. my husband made me a long sewing table that for at end of shelving, the width of room. I still have my son's dresser and chest of drawers/changing table in there. on top of that I have a 9 hole cube that has material in it on it, next to it. in front of it (wow). my problem is . I did alot of sewing, quilting, designing quilt blocks of the month for class where I worked and taught.i have ALOT of material. but now I have gotten into paper/vinyl crafting, card making. I said I WOULD NEVER GET INTO..surprise!! I got the cricut maker mainly to cut out my shapes for the embroidery Christmas ornaments I make, but I can't get the file to convert it from emb to cut.soo I got into cricut.... now I need to clean out the room ...and reorganize..ive been organizing with containers for the cricut things.. but no where to really put it IN IT'S PLACE yet. and I have to use my machine on my other kitchen table. yes I have 2 kitchen tables. great for holidays, but. and right now I'm kinda my hands are tied cause my husband had curodid artery surgery, then open heart surgery a week later. been 3 weeks for open heart, I NEED TO CRAFT, SEE SOMETHING...lol but been thinking what to do with my room. I would like to put shelving up on wall on the side of the window and bring around to other wall ,window. in corner. I love in a log home, so don't think my husband would really want alot of holes in logs. like the ideas of command hooks. would they stick to logs? I have used them on shelving unit I have.
they are great. well I better stop before this becomes a book. thanks for your time. great ideas. thank you..

When my daughter moved back home with her daughter I lost my craft space. I had to move everything upstairs to our rooms (open concept). I pushed our dressers together on one wall and headed to Home Depot. Back in the "do it yourself closet organizer" section, we picked up a cube floor to ceiling shelf unit, a hanging cabinet, a couple of drawer banks and a plain melamine plank. We used them to organize a craft area for me in one corner and it works well.....not in the closet :) For extra layout space, a table from Costco that folds up and tucks into 2 inches of space next to my dressing table. It ain't decorative but it's made me smile for 14 years.

When I was with my ex, the place he worked would buy new, hollow-core doors, and fasten a pair of 2-drawer file cabinets--one under each end--for the salespeoples' desks. Raw doors to not have any holes or hardware already, so it's a plain slab. Paint or stain to suit, and far cheaper than actual office desks from office supply or furniture stores! While the center of the door is hollow, there is a frame around the edges to hold the veneer, so it's easy to fasten the cabinets securely underneath.
I have a downsizing issue; my art studio is about 700 sq. ft; but it's a mess because I have too much going on, and not room for everything I want to do, despite the fact that it was purpose-designed to be my craft area! Problem is, I'm a dabbler; I don't just like one craft. I'll do jewelry for a while, get bored, move on to painting ceramics, get bored, try some needlepoint or woodworking, get bored, etc....you get the idea. I need variety! YET--since I'm looking to go full-time nomad in an RV where I'll have less than 500 sq. ft. TOTAL LIVING SPACE...and with my MIL and 8 cats...you can only guess at my challenge...
LOL at you "needing help with your storage area." 'Twas ever thus, hence the saying, "The cobbler's children go barefoot!" :D Love your tips!

Get them in a vacuum bag! Use a 40% off from Bed Bath and Beyond or go to WalMart.... You can put 6-8 couch pillows into one bag! They will shrink down flat!!! Then they are dust and bug free when you open the bag! This link is from Target, but you can buy them anywhere. This is the size I use most often. Great for blankets and comforters too!!!! www.target.com/p/ziploc-jumbo-size-big-bags-3ct-xxl/-/A-12970286?ref=tgt_adv_XS000000&AFID=google&fndsrc=tmnv&DFA=1&CPNG=PLA_DVM%2B0060H00000moYMFQA2-SCJ-2019-Ziploc-2H+Search-Flight&adgroup=PLA_Ziploc&LID=700000001393753pgs&network=g&device=c&location=9031089&gclid=Cj0KCQjws7TqBRDgARIsAAHLHP5tJpw7DP19SLkqPlxl8_p3VGrrnUIQ8JAZoog283j2GpLPOkyKR88aAkQLEALw_wcB&gclsrc=aw.ds

I recently moved and have a garage that I'm going to use for my craftroom. My question is, how do you keep the dust out? Since its a garage there seems to be more places for dust to come in. I really love it but everytime I leave my craftroom I feel like I need a shower.🥴 any ideas?

I have that issue too.... sadly. I dust - alot! I hope to get an air purifier to help... but haven't taken the budget plunge yet. If I do and it works, I'll let you know!

If I wanted how would I send pictures of my crafting station in my two bedroom one and a half bathroom apartment.
My crafting station is in my master bedroom I have two workbenches one of them is in between a entertainment wall unit the other ones beside my bed by the window I have a real way to a box with a lot of my craft supplies in and I have a big Craftsman metal cabinet that can store almost all my big items.
I was wondering how would I go by send you photos of my crafting station and crafting areas in my master bedroom?
Please leave me a message when you receive my message please.
Thank you very much in advance.
