- A tearful Kenny Dillingham as well as ASU players Sam Leavitt and Cam Skattebo answer questions after falling short to the Texas Longhorns, 39-31.
As a Texas fan I just want to say that ASU showed up big today. fought all day long and damn near won this game. Wish yall the best next year.

Texas fan here and my gosh ASU has the most heart and determination I’ve seen in a team all season. They were underdogs all season long and they came out and put everything they had on that field. That was one heck of a game and I have a lot of respect for what they do. They have that fight you see in the movies.
ASU fan here and absolutely, it just sucks knowing they will go into next year as underdogs. This coaching staff is absolutely outstanding and deserve some credit from the media and polls like they earned from fans across the nation.

I may be wrong, but I think that the guy who brought in the MVP trophy had the wrong one. If you look closely (end of video) it says "DEFENSE", not OFFENSE. He may have accidentally handed Skattebo the Defensive MVP Trophy. Ooops !!!
It says a lot that the game MVP goes to a player on the losing team. Scat so deserved it, and nice to see him recognized in such a way in his last collegiate game. See you on Sundays Cam Skattebo.

Can the Heisman wait until the National Championship is played from now on because Cam Skattebo is DEFINITELY the epitome of a Heisman winner. WOW! What a coach & team. Being an Alabama fan, I started watching the game pulling for the SEC, but, quickly shifted to rooting for ASU. New fan here. Awesome group. Congratulations on an amazing season. I know it sounds cliche and doesn’t mean much now, but, ASU has absolutely nothing to hang their heads about, they’re AWESOME. Im not convinced the best team won this game
Even as a life long and die hard longhorn fan that was born in Austin TX, the fight these Sun Devils showed was inspiring and I grew huge respect for these guys today. They gave us problems and seriously should hold their heads high. They played a hell of a game and I have no doubt they’ll be back in the CFP picture next year. Great coach in Dillingham; Leavitt and Scattebo are beasts. Bright future ahead with this program. Nothing but respect I have for these guys. Gave us a fight and we were lucky to come out with a W today. We got a lot to clean up before facing OSU. See y’all next year in the CFP!

longhorn fan here, damn these guys showed so much heart and determination for the love of the game, nothing to hang your head about fellas! i have a respect for ASU now and that game was absolutely nothing short of phenomenal! left it all on the field. i think ASU will continue this trend for years to come! Coach is running a awesome program here! CAM showed his skill in this game and he will be playing on Sundays next year i have no doubt about that!

Wow, amazing game by ASU! Never gave up. Skattebo is awesome, everything he claimed to be! Texas was lucky to come out with the win. ASU is just beginning w/ a QB like Leavitt (no mistakes). Longhorn fans know the feeling of losing at the very end.
Im originally from Ohio and always been a Buckeyes fan, I live in Phoenix and have never followed ASU. I've been intrigued w/ this coach for the last couple years and watched this game yesterday. Im a fan, what a coach and leader of men.
As a Longhorn fan ASU played a heck of a game. They have no reason to have had their heads held low. Good luck next year to ASU

Been a Horn fan since 1985 , not a fan of anyone that says “I can’t be stopped” didn’t like the cockiness that being said, all the respect in the world goes to Skattebo for literally leaving EVERYTHING on the field including him continuously vomiting prob has a concussion but not diagnosed for sure. ASU played phenomenal.

One of the best college games I’ve seen
ASU proved they belonged. Skattebo is in fact basically unstoppable. Ewers came thru in the clutch hitting three dimes on his last three throws.
These types of “positive” losses are rare. This will be the game that ASU fans remember as the one that finally proved to the world that ASU belongs in the national spotlight. We knew it all season, but to see our guys go toe to toe with an SEC powerhouse and take them the distance gives me a lot of optimism ASU football has arrived as a top contender for years to come. Go Devils 🔱
Unfortunately knowing the polls ASU will be ranked 18 to 22nd to start next year and a single loss will drop them a minimum of 5 spots through the season, it's also unfortunate that all Big 12 teams will deal with the same all season next year when they have shown that they can compete at the highest level.
Keep your heads up gentleman yall all fought hard. Man that RB is a wrecking ball out in the field.

Hot take: BYU should have been in the field. Only bad L all season was Kansas and losing @ASU proved to be one of the better Loses in the country given the game was decided by 3 yards in a chaotic finish. Cannot wait for future battles with BYU

You got hosed!!! Targeting should have been called. Would have led to a TD and changed that game. Such a shame!!! Disgusting. Oh no….We have to have SEC or B10 in the finals according to ESPN…..The refs should be ashamed. Absolutely blatant targeting!!! Not to mention the blatant shoving Jeantry to the ground, he not even in the play in the Boise State game also that would change that games outcome also. Plus that player needed ejection and not be rewarded to play any further.
That was a very good game! Texas started on fire, Arizona caught up with them, from that point on the game was GREAT! I had no idea who Cam was, but after this game, he has NFL skills without a doubt, will be following him for sure!!

texas had the biggest money budget to build a team in 4 years and still barely beat ASU (budget team) without jordan tyson and a first year freshman QB sAm. Texas is pretty lucky to win today to be honest. ASU was the team with more heart.

That was a damn near perfect form tackle. It shouldnt even have been reviewed for targeting and probably wouldnt have been if the ASU player hadn't stayed down for so long after the play.

Absolutely and knowing that the special teams can't consistently get points cost ASU. All 3 losses ASU had were due to the inability to get FGs. ASU's kicker was 4 for 22 going into this game and it hurt them.

The discrepancy with the targeting calls may have to do with one game being Big12 refs and one game being called by big10 refs. Kinda silly that we dont just have NCAA refs, and why doesnt it ever get brought up?

UT die-hard here, the emotion in this video shows how BAD ASU wanted this win. Taffe's No-Call aside (IMHO was a facemask collision, in a wtf-just-happened play), and various calls that UT never got - ASU should get the balls-out award for getting 2 touchdowns and 2-2 PT conversions in a row!!! Unheard of stuff. They will be a force moving forward.

Why? Skat was the best player by far on the field, and Sam was the better with less talent around him. I fail to see why confidence is a bad thing they performed as advertised.

The obvious targeting the refs decided not to acknowledge with one minute left in regulation almost certainly cost ASU a well deserved all time best of college football moment, an amazing comeback victory and instantly delegitimatized the first ever college football playoff. It occurred simultaneously with the defenseless, immobilized receiver being tended to by emergency physicians. It was disgraceful and sickening.
AZ State got screwed, plain and simple. And we all know the reason why.

As a Texas fan, huge respect to Kenny. I agree Taafe didn’t mean it but yeah it’s textbook targeting just look at the criteria. Cam was a warrior and to me definitely proved he was heisman worthy he fought hard and was the best player this game. However for Leavitt he needed to be humbled as a freshman qb he has nothing to be ashamed of he had a wonderful season but to talk that trash about Quinn Ewers before the game, shows he was overly confident. There is no way that he was the better QB at all Quinn showed why he was at Overtime and it was not Quinn who put us in that terrible position he saved us alongside Helm Golden and Number 4.
Ewers was the reason asu was in the game, he can’t throw the deep ball, he nearly threw two other ints, the play calling was terrible and STs needs to do better playing against fake punts. This game shouldn’t have been close imo
I agree to a point, Sam was confident and his offense moved the ball but couldn't score in the redzone. Ewers had 2 big plays that won them the game, I think 2 things can be true at the same time Sam is the better QB but the better QB in OT is the one that won. Situations Ewers has seen that Sam had never seen, talent wise Ewers has at least 3 1st round talents around him and Sam has what should be a 1st round talent with him but will probably be a 3rd or 4th round pick. Confidence is key to these guys and if you don't think you are the best then why try to compete at this level.

ASU was deprived of a chance to win the game in regulation when the officials chose to let a textbook targeting slide.
You do understand football is a contact sport? Is a defender supposed to light pat a offensive player on the head and politely ask them to fall down? Stop crying.

It meets every element of the textbook rule, and ASU's top player was out the entire first half for a targeting that was far less clear. You must be a UT fan. Irony is I'm not a fan of either team, just a neutral observer. Unfortunately, college football wants only the SEC and BIG to go. Especially because ESPN has a direct financial interest in the SEC.

It was not textbook as the crown was not involved. While I thought it would have been called, I think there was enough doubt there. It was more face-to-face. Targeting in general needs to be revisited because too many of them are caused by the offensive player lowering his head (not including this case).
