APD Seeks to Identify Person of Interest in Fatal Shooting of Abraham Midgett III

Anchorage police are asking the public for help in identifying a person of interest regarding the fatal shooting of Abraham Midgett III this Spring.
On Friday, March 20, 2015, police responded to a report of gunfire in the area of 12th and Hyder St. just before 4:00 a.m. An adult male, later identified as 54-year-old Abraham Midgett III, was found unconscious in the parking lot of Alexander’s Body Shop. It appeared that Abraham was a victim of gunfire. He was transported to a local hospital where he was pronounced deceased.
Evidence gathered from the scene indicates that the male shown in the video and stills may have information that can assist in the investigation of the shooting and police are trying to identify and locate the person of interest. The male appears to be wearing a dark baseball cap with white stitching, a dark oversized winter jacket, dark pants and dark shoes.
